Discussion prompt for reflection:
The U.S.-China Barometer uses data to show several important patterns surrounding China and its international relations. But what else do you see that is not discussed in the Barometer and made obvious to you? First, identify what you think might be important relationships in the data of two different slides. Are there similar patterns of piracy and trade over time? Do you see one series of data increase and the other decreasing? Discuss. Second, now that you know the background of COVID-19, find and discuss time-series data on COVID-19 cases in China. What patterns do you see? It started in Wuhan, but what else can we tell from the massive amounts of data emerging out there? Discuss your findings and share your data sources.
