If I Am Getting Information From My Textbook But Not Directly Quoting It Do I St

If I am getting information from my textbook, but not directly quoting it, do I still have to cite it in parenthesis in APA?

Example:

Textbook: Cleavage is the tendency of a mineral to break along planes of weak bonding.

My words: Cleavage describes a mineral’s inclination to split along areas of weak atomic bondage upon being broken.
