In 2012, they plan to open 100 of these in California. Each year thereafter they plan to open 250 additional units.Batteries: 100 * $5,000 eachChargers: 25 at $250 eachTransfer machines: 10 at $500 eachThe investment for new centers will be incurred in the year prior to the year in which centers are opened. For instance, the investment for the 100 centers planned for 2012 will be incurred in 2011 and similarly through 2016 when the investment will be incurred in 2015. The investment in the 5th year or 2016 will be $500,000,000. Each center will need the following.Building and grounds for each center will be leased at an annual cost of $50,000 for each center. Administrative expense for each center is estimated at $250,000 annually. Each year, 20% of the batteries will have to be refurbished at a cost of $2,500 each. This should be considered as investment. Each recharging center is expected to generate revenue of $6,000 per day. This revenue per center is expected to hold constant over the timeframe of the project.Dailyoperational costs including utilities, labor and materials costs, but excluding batteries, will be $4,000 per station. Working capital of $2,500,000 is needed for Cash, Inventory, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable starting in 2011and will increase by 15% per year.Corporate Administrative expense is $5,000,000 annually throughout the planning period and this includes research and development. Marketing is planned at $1,000,000 annually. The value of each center at the end of five years is expected to be $1 million each. Consider this a salvage value in year 5.Depreciation should be simplified by simply dividing the current investment in place by 5, which approximates five year straight line depreciation. The corporate MARR is 15% and tax rate is 18%. Based on a five year plan and with the data given below for each center, prepare an analysis and recommendation as to whether this project should be funded. A spreadsheet containing a Data Block for this problem is attached. Check it for accuracy.Prepare a income statement and free cash flow statement for the proposed project. Design and test alternative scenarios concerning the project.Submit your analysis as a management proposal including any recommendations or concerns.

Group ProjectFor the group project, you will be creating a database system to solve a business problem of your choice. The database system must meet the criteria shown below. In addition to the database solution, each student will prepare a system summary.Database System Requirements (Group Work):Create a database and name it ITD640_GPx where “x” is your group letter. Populate your database with appropriate test data. Include all of the scripts in a single file called ITD640_GPx.SQL where “x” is your group letter. Create at least three related tables in the database. Create at least two stored procedures and a script to use each of them. Create at least one view (using a script). Create at least one trigger. Create at least five useful queries. At least one of these queries should use a subquery, and at least one of the queries should use an aggregate function. All scripts should be well documented. Individual Summary:In addition to the group work described above, each group member will prepare a summary document with the following information. This document will be submitted as a separate item along with the ZIP of the database and the associated files. Do not submit a single group document. This document must be created individually, and copying from other group members is not allowed.a word document describing the system an ERD or other graphical representation of the system a description of the views, stored procedures, triggers, and queries step-by-step instructions on how to run the queries that will demonstrate the functionality of the system a summary of strengths and weaknesses of the system, as designed Each student will submit the database, a log file, query files in a zip file called ITD640_GP.ZIP, and his or her own individual summary document as a separate submission. You will have to detach the database before creating the zip file. Please submit your assignment.Note: This is a resend of the assignment. Group programs are common in social work. Just as with other types of programs, social workers must understand the options available to them and know how to select the appropriate research design.

For this Discussion, you evaluate group research design methods that can be used for an outcome evaluation of a foster parent training program. You also generate criteria to be measured in the program.

To prepare for this Discussion, review the “Social Work Research: Planning a Program Evaluation” case study (ATTACHED) , Plummer, S.-B., Makris, S., & Brocksen S. (Eds.). (2014b). Social work case studies: Concentration year.

Post your explanation of which group research design and data collection method from those outlined in the Resources you selected as appropriate for the “Social Work Research: “Planning a Program Evaluation” case study (ATTACHED) and why.

Then, generate criteria to be measured using the research design by identifying a specific outcome and a method for measuring that outcome. Specify who will collect the data and how the data will be collected.

“Social Work Research: Planning a Program Evaluation”

Joan is a social worker who is currently enrolled in a social work PhD program. She is planning to conduct her dissertation research project with a large nonprofit child welfare organization where she has worked as a site coordinator for many years. She has already approached the agency director with her interest, and the leadership team of the agency stated that they would like to collaborate on the research project.

The child welfare organization at the center of the planned study has seven regional centers that operate fairly independently. The primary focus of work is on foster care; that is, recruiting and training foster parents and running a regular foster care program with an emphasis on family foster care. The agency has a residential program as well, but it will not participate in the study. Each of the regional centers services about 45–50 foster parents and approximately 100 foster children. On average, five to six new foster families are recruited at each center on a quarterly basis. This number has been consistent over the past 2 years.

Recently it was decided that a new training program for incoming foster parents would be used by the organization. The primary goals of this new training program include reducing foster placement disruptions, improving the quality of services delivered, and increasing child well-being through better trained and skilled foster families. Each of the regional centers will participate and implement the new training program. Three of the sites will start the program immediately, while the other four centers will not start until 12 months from now. The new training program consists of six separate 3-hour training sessions that are typically conducted in a biweekly format. It is a fairly proceduralized training program; that is, a very detailed set of manuals and training materials exists. All trainings will be conducted by the same two instructors. The current training program that it will replace differs considerably in its focus, but it also uses a 6-week, 3-hour format. It will be used by those sites not immediately participating until the new program is implemented.

Joan has done a thorough review of the foster care literature and has found that there has been no research on the training program to date, even though it is being used by a growing number of agencies. She also found that there are some standardized instruments that she could use for her study. In addition, she would need to create a set of Likert-type scales for the study. She will be able to use a group design because all seven regional centers are interested in participating and they are starting the training at different times.

GROUP PRESENTATION QUESTION

The board calls a snap members’ meeting to be held 14 days later on 16 February 2018. The notice of meeting does not contain the information booklet or the purpose of the meeting. The meeting is held at a conference centre in Perth (which is unusualas normally the meetings are held in Sydney). The board undertakes this action to ensure that the attendance at the meeting is very low, and voting is done mainly by undirected proxies (controlled by the Chairman, as is usual for undirected proxy voting). At the meeting, the Chairman refuses to allow any of the members of the shareholder group to speak and the resolutions are defeated after the Chairman votes the undirected proxies. The Chairman then proposes, as a matter of special business (which was not detailed on the notice of meeting), an alteration of the company’s constitution in the following manner:

●      all future meetings that are requisitioned by members will require board prior approval and 6 months notice; and

●      dividends will be suspended for the next 12 months to fund internal growth in the company.

The constitutional alteration was passed by a special majority of shareholders present and entitled to vote at the meeting. Investors (including Shareholders United) are furious and want to challenge the outcome of the extraordinary members’ meeting and its constitutional alteration.

You are retained by the Shareholders United and have been asked to put together a brief outline of whether the board’s conduct in calling and conducting the members’ meeting, including the constitutional alteration, was valid: in other words, does the law permit the board to do these things.
