Go to the Pubmed or ADA center for evidence based dentistry websites. Use the search engine to find a study regarding a systemic condition which may be related to periodontitis. Conditions you may choose include diabetes, osteoporosis, calcium deficiency, vitamin deficiency, low birth weight pregnancy incidence, obesity, or rheumatoid arthritis. Do not choose smoking! Write a one page (at most) essay on what the study looked at, what its conclusions were and if you found the findings convincing. What kind of study was it (randomized clinical trial, cohort etc. Cite the reference as well. Do not cut and paste the abstract as your essay. I know you can do that, lol. The goal here is to read a research article of relevance and determine its validity. This is a raise the bar excercise
