For your second task Debbie asks you to evaluate an options strategy consisting of buying a call option and a put option, both with a $40 strike price. Both options have the same maturity. The call costs $3 and the put costs $4. She asks you to draw a payoff diagram. If she buys one call contract and one put contract how much would she make if the price ends up at $35 how much money does she make? How much does she make if the price ends up at $50? After you show her what you came up with she mentions anticipating a drop in volatility & asks if you think this strategy makes sense—what do you tell her?

I need help with JUST a proposal paragraph for my project.

For your project, you will be developing a creative proposal for the White House regarding the War on Drugs. Your proposal must include a plan to eliminate the supply of methamphetamine in this country.

In this unit you will begin working on the first part of your course project. Part 1 of your project requires that you develop the concept of your proposal.

Your concept should be a very succinct paragraph that provides an overview of your plan to eliminate the methamphetamine supply. Think of it as a “snapshot” of your proposal. Discuss the “big picture” or high level overview of your proposal. Do not include the details of how your proposal will work.

You will want to spend some time on this paragraph, and craft it so that someone reviewing your proposal will immediately be drawn in and want to hear more details about your plan. You should also list the countries you expect you will need to bring on board to partner with the U.S. to execute this program.

For your third essay, you will be writing a standard textual analysis of a TED Talk of your choosing. TED Talks are videos in which expert speakers discuss “ideas worth spreading” in all areas—education, business, science, technology, and the creative arts. TED Talks are free to stream. Follow the posted link to https://www.ted.com/talks and begin browsing through the videos looking for one that appeals to you. The video you choose to analyze does not have to be related to your major, but if you search for videos that do relate to your major or career interests, you are sure to find some that intrigue you. write an essay in which you critically analyze your chosen TED Talk by pointing out its strengths and weaknesses (this is called a textual analysis).

Textual analysis is a method used to describe and interpret the characteristics of a recorded or visual message. The purpose of textual analysis is to describe the content, structure, and functions of the messages contained in texts. You will use textual evidence to support a thesis you have asserted about the effectiveness of your chosen TED Talk. Textual evidence consists of summary, paraphrase, specific details, and direct quotations.

The key here is that you are not solely providing a summary of the TED Talk but are instead offering your analysis of its effectiveness. Think about the following issues:

·        the main point of the talk

·        how it is organized

·        how it is supported (with facts, evidence, research, examples, etc)

·        what the speaker’s qualifications are that give them credibility on this issue

·        who the intended audience is and how they are reached (who would benefit the most from listening to this presentation?)

·        what the speaker’s main goal is (i.e. to persuade, to inform, to motivate to action, etc)

·        how the speaker’s argument is supported

·        what rhetorical appeals the speaker uses

·        whether or not they have any logical fallacies

·        what the context and importance of the issue at the root of the TED talk are, and what effect they have on the audience

In your essay, you will need to cite the TED Talk you are analyzing, but you may (or may not) choose to include additional research as well. All sources must be cited within your essay using parenthetical citations and these sources must also appear on a Works Cited page (use the links to the Purdue OWL for MLA guidelines).

For your Stage 1 assignment, you will analyze the processes at the Wasatch Family Clinic to identify the essential requirements for the EHR system for the Clinic.  For this discussion, you will practice analyzing processes and identifying functional requirements for a system to improve a process.

First, we need to be sure you can identify a process; many students have difficulty with this step, so refer to the week 2 readings that describe various healthcare processes.  Keep in mind that a process is a set of specified steps to accomplish a single task.

Second, requirements for a system need to be clearly written so that the people who are developing the system or evaluating a system for use can discern whether the requirements are met or not. This sounds obvious, but it isn’t as easy as it might seem initially.  One set of criteria for writing clear requirements is referred to as “SMART” criteria, which means each requirement statement is:

  • Specific – Clearly and simply stated, and not likely to be mis-interpreted.  Avoid such words as:  and, or, but, soon, immediately, somewhat.
  • Measurable – Can be verified as complete or not.  Avoid such words as: best, fastest, optimally.
  • Attainable – Able to be achieved; appropriate.
  • Realistic – Considering the project and other requirements, can this one be expected to be met.
  • Time-bound – If appropriate to the requirement, specifies when or how fast a requirement needs to be completed.

For a more in-depth discussion and some examples, see: https://jessica80304.wordpress.com/2008/08/04/smart-requirements/

1. Drawing from your own experience, select a health care process used at your place of work or in your interaction with a health care organization that you would like to see improved.  Explain why you picked that process.

2. Imagine that a system is to be implemented (or an existing system improved) to make that process better, and identify five (5) requirements that the system would need to satisfy.  Each requirement is one sentence in length and addresses one thing the system must do.  Here we are interested in “functional requirements” – the activities the system must perform to support the identified process.  We are not including “nonfunctional requirements”   that include how the system would perform.

reply to the posting below, you are to critically evaluate all of the following for at least three main postings (three or more are required for full points):

  1. Is the identified process actually a “process”; that is, does it meet the definition of “a set of specified steps to accomplish a single task”?
  2. Do the requirements listed support the selected process?
  3. Are the requirements clearly stated such that system testers will be able to ascertain whether or not the requirement has been implemented (have they followed the “SMART” criteria)?
  4. What improvements to the requirements would you suggest?  At least one is required; explain what needs to be corrected and provide your re-wording of the requirement.

Greetings Sir/Madam

I think we can all agree that most outpatient pharmacy wait times/processes can be equally as painful/long as sitting at the DMV to update some sort of miscellaneous motor vehicle item/task. That brings me to the process in which I would like to see improve throughout the industry. I can only speak from the Military Medical Treatment Facility world as that is all I have known and experienced with my 15 years of Active Duty time served. I mention this because at a military pharmacy, you may receive up to a 90-day supply of most medications at no cost. Most military pharmacies accept prescriptions written by both civilian and military providers. So this benefit, eliminates the exchanging money/submitting insurance portion of the “bottle neck” of some outpatient pharmacies.

  1. The Patient wait time for their prescriptions must be reduced.
  2. The Patient must get the right prescription without errors.
  3. The Pharmacy Staff shall be efficient in their movements/actions.
  4. The Patients overall satisfaction must be worth the trip to our pharmacy.
  5. The Pharmacy Staff must be able to answer patient prescription questions clearly and quickly.

SMART criteria:

  1. The Patient wait time for their prescriptions must be reduced and the wait time must not exceed 20 minutes.

The Patient must get the right prescription without errors and will be required that a barcode safety check on every prescription we fill be completed in that 20 mins or less.

3. The Pharmacy Staff shall be efficient in their movements/actions. We will dedicate extra staff members to specific positions as to not have any one single points of failure during peak times (lunch hours etc).

4. The Patients overall satisfaction must be worth the trip to our pharmacy and we will ensure patient satisfaction, wait times and excellent customer service is all accomplished in 20 mins or less.

5. The Pharmacy Staff must be able to answer patient prescription questions clearly and quickly as to not bust the 20 mins or less suspense and to provide clear concise patient customer service.

Forecasting is used as a tool for planning. When developing forecasts, firms need to think of all possible scenarios and their future impacts.

For example, if you are in a management role and overforecast sales, you will then overforecast employees or payroll as you will schedule more employees than needed to meet your projected sales. This overforecasting will lead to excess purchasing of supplies and, ultimately, lead to insufficient cash flows because you will need to pay for expenses incurred to maintain and provide services for revenues that did not come in as projected. A small error in forecasting at the start can significantly affect overall results. In this assignment, you will be exposed to the basic principles of forecasting.

Tasks:

Research a firm that applies forecasting principles and methods. You can take examples from your own work experiences. You can also consult sources such as the Wall Street Journal, Financial Times, Bloomberg Markets, the Economist, US News and World Report, and the Argosy University online library resources.

Create a 4- to 5-page research paper that includes responses to the following:

  • Identify the sales forecast for the firm.
  • Analyze how this sales forecast impacts all other forecasts for the firm, such as materials, labor, overhead, cash receipts, and disbursements.
  • Explain the exogenous factors that you need to be aware of when developing these forecasts. Assess the GDP, rate of inflation, rate of unemployment, and interest rates trends.
  • Evaluate the prerequisites of a good forecast that you should keep in mind as a manager when budgeting sales and production amounts.

At the end of your report, include a reference page and cite scholarly sources in APA style.

Forecasting is an uncertain science since it calls for predictions but current theoretical and mathematical models (quantitative and qualitative) make it possible for organizations to predict with an acceptable margin of error. Think about it this way; without forecasting organizations would always be responding rather than acting.1. Select one industry from the list below:Bank, restaurant, health clinic/hospital, airline, or university.2. What specific variables would be needed by that organization in order to forecast? Be sure you explain “why” you selected each variable and why it is important to forecasting.3. Which variables are used for short-range forecasting, long-range forecasting or for both. Make sure you support your selections.

From the available options I would like o select health industry and answerthe following questions:1. Forecast can be of various types e.g.a. b. Sales forecast: A very important forecast…

Forecasting HR Demand for Bank Tellers

As an HR manager in a national bank, you have access to historical data about branch activity and employment across Canada from 2001 to 2009. These two variables develop a productivity ratio in terms of how many customers each teller is able to serve per year. You are asked to make a quick and rough estimate of teller projections for the bank using this information and are expected to apply a ratio analysis.

The bank is expecting a five percent annual growth rate in its number of customers from 2009 to 2012. This is due to an aggressive marketing technique and the launch of a high- interest banking incentive for customers who leave their existing bank to join yours. As well, because of plans to launch a training and orientation program targeted at all employees, the bank also expects an annual increase in productivity over the next two years.

Using this information and the chart with data provided below, predict the organization’s 2010 and 2011 forecasts for HR demand.

Tasks

1.  Plot these figures within WORD on a scatter plot.  Estimate a regression line.  That is, draw a line that cuts straight through the center of the points (one that minimizes the distance between the lines and the plotted points).

2.  Using your plot, estimate the number of tellers needed for forecasted sales of $1,547.81 million and $1,702.27 million.

3.  Answer in paragraph form:  Given the trends and the nature of the banking industry, what other advice can you give the HR planner?  Consider online banking, banking locations and hours, services offered, etc.

4.  Answer in paragraph form:  Why might using the plotted information alone be risky?

5.  Answer in paragraph form:  What other factors should you consider?  Why?

6. Describe one quantitative and one qualitative technique that can be used to forecast human resources demand (discuss in complete detail).
