For your Final Project, you will review the School Shooter podcast. For this Assignment, assume that the juvenile shooter killed the teacher, the principal, and two students. As a result, he has been bound over to adult court and sentenced as an adult. Based on the number of individuals killed, he is sentenced to capital punishment. For this Final Project, you are to apply your own state and case law, identify forensic risk assessment factors, and evaluate your own biases pertaining to the case.

Final Project: Write a 10- to 12-page (not including references, title page, or abstract) APA-formatted paper in which you do the following: Review/research current state laws pertaining to juveniles in capital offenses bound over to adult court. Provide an analysis of your state (California) laws regarding juveniles sentenced as adults. If you are an international student, you may use your local or regional laws. Evaluate risk factors that may have contributed to the shooter’s actions. Be sure to include developmental risk factors. Recommend forensic risk assessment instruments that would be appropriate to be used in evaluating risk specific to this case. Evaluate your own personal biases, which may lead to weaknesses regarding how you effectively communicate the results of the forensic assessment where the defendant is hypothetically sentenced to death. Explain ethical concerns that may impact your work on this case. Be sure to cite relevant APA Ethical Guidelines, Specialty Guidelines for Forensic Psychology and/or Multicultural Competence Guidelines located within the Week 2 Learning Resources. The Final Project must include a minimum of five academic references (in addition to any course readings that you may wish to reference). Please be aware that non-professional, user-created websites such as Wikipedia will not be accepted as scholarly references.

For your final Discussion Question, you can choose an artist from the 20th Century Harlem Renaissance or a feminist artist (current or from history).

Select one or the other, but not both.

I have provided assignment guidelines for each below:

The Harlem Renaissance was one of the prominent art movements of the Twentieth Century.

Discuss the significance of the Harlem Renaissance as it applied to the art world.

Identify a representative artist of the Harlem Renaissance and the subject matter of his or her work.

Post an image of the artwork(s) you selected to discuss.

Provide captions with title, artist and date of the artwork(s).

__________________________________________________________A very timely topic in today’s media is the subject of female activism.

This has been most evident with the #MeToo Movement and its focus on sexual harassment.

In the art world, there have been numerous female artists focusing on the topic of feminism dating from the latter 1960s to today.

Select a feminist artist and describe her influence on the art world.

Include an image(s) of artwork of the artist you selected.

Provide captions with title, artist and date of the artwork(s).

For your initial post, choose one of the following two prompts to respond to. Then in your two follow up posts, respond at least once in each option. Use the discussion topic as a place to ask questions, speculate about answers, and share insights. Be sure to embed and cite your references for any supporting images.

Write a confidence interval problem using one of the options below. For whichever option you choose, gather the appropriate data and post your problem (without a solution) in the discussion topic. Allow time for your classmates to post their solutions, and then respond to your own post with the solution for others to check their work.

Option 1:

Think about a population mean that you may be interested in and propose a confidence interval problem for this parameter. Your data values should be approximately normal.

For example, you may want to estimate the population mean number of times that adults go out for dinner each week. Your data could be that you spoke with seven people you know and found that they went out 2, 0, 1, 5, 0, 2, and 3 times last week. You then would choose to calculate a 95% (or another level) confidence interval for the population mean.

Assume a random sample was chosen, which is required to determine a confidence interval.

For your follow up, please select one called a work conflict and discuss its place in the Cold War. For example the Korean War, Vietnam War, Cuban Missile Crisis etc. 250-300 words

The desire for superiority was one of the key factors that led to the reluctance of US not joining the Soviet Union in the cold war. There was a major conflict between these two powers mainly because the United States which was a capitalist stated wanted to control the idea of communism from spreading. It was impossible for the two countries to fight each directly since they possessed atomic bombs. Instead, they resulted in a cold war (1945-1989) without engaged their military in physical combat (Grogin, 2001). Neither of the two major states was willing to surrender and the fierce competition was inevitable. Soviet Union considered the US a threat to its ambitions so did the United States. The fear of communism was the main cause of such rivalry. In addition, America was afraid that the Soviet Union would expand communism and create the revolution in the western European nations that would eventually transfer to the United States. It is for this reason that the two nations had to fight. The US was not prepared to take such risk since communism had already spread in the western European countries. As such, the idea of commanding a new framework on the centuries-old pattern among great powers pitted the democratic United States, the capitalist, against the Communist and the Soviet Union (Argentieri, 2006).  One basic tactic used by the United States then was forming an alliance with other nations to fight for the interests that mattered to them. To add on, the two superpowers had divergent differences in the political systems and this prevented any mutual understanding on major policies. All in all, the threat of communism necessitated the US to enter into cold war with the Soviet Union.

For your major essay, you will compose a (minimum) 1000-word visual analysis of a work of art of your choosing.  There is no penalty for going over 1000 words (it may take more than 1000 to say everything you need to say), but you must meet this minimum threshold.  Thorough coverage of all the applicable techniques is the goal.

The Art- The Scream by Edvard MunchThe Paper

The paper should be typed, and double spaced, and should follow ALL the guidelines outlined in the Requirements and Tips handout.  99% of what you need to know about my expectations for written work is there.  If your paper conforms to everything outlined in the handout, you’re good to go.

You are not required to do any research for this paper, but if you choose to do research to further your own ideas, you MUST properly cite all sources.  See the Requirements handout. The Content of the Paper

Your paper should be a really straightforward visual analysis of the work you’ve chosen.  Try to discern the meaning of the work though applying all the applicable principles and terms of analysis to it.  Talk about how the artist uses line, color, light, emphasis, etc….Units I – IV give you the tools you need to analyze a work of art with authority.  Try to cover all the principles of analysis, but only if they actually are used in the work.    This is your opportunity to demonstrate that you understand how to analyze a work of art by employing correct techniques and utilizing the appropriate vocabulary.  Your ultimate goal is to try and communicate that you understand what the work of art is about through your analysis of its visual form (first and foremost) and subject matter.

What the Paper Shouldn’t Include

Biography of the artist, art historical information, etc.  This is a visual paper, no need to talk about history.

N.B. Make sure you can find a good image of your work either online or in a book.  It’s hard to write a visual analysis of a work of art you can’t see clearly!
