Theoretical Foundations of Transcultural Nursing

Read chapter 1 of the class textbook and review the attached PowerPoint presentation.  Once done answer the following questions.

1.  Discuss the historical and theoretical foundations of transcultural nursing.

2.  Mention and discuss Leininger’s contributions to the creation and development of transcultural nursing as a theory.

3.  Discuss the relevance of transcultural nursing in addressing contemporary issues and trends in nursing.

4.  Discuss the key components of the Andrews/Boyle Transcultural Interprofessional Practice (TIP) model.

As stated in the syllabus please present your assignment in an APA format word document, Arial 12 font attached to the forum in the discussion board title  “Week 1 discussion questions”.  A minimum of 2 evidence-based references is required (not counting the class textbook) no older than 5 years.

Like many other aspects of health care, managed care is continually changing and evolving to meet current consumer and market demands. The following topics:

Use the following guidelines for developing your essay:

Select  at least two articles for each topic, and write a review for each source  of information.

Present a summary for each topic tying together the information learned about that topic.

Describe  and evaluate the market forces, current trends, and changes in drug benefit programs over the last fifteen years.

Discuss basic approaches and techniques used in utilization management.

Analyze the future of utilization management approaches. How might they change and why?

Justify your ideas and responses by using appropriate examples and references from reputable and scholarly texts, websites, and other references.

Based on your research, summarize your findings on the selected topics and compile your observations in a 5 page Microsoft Word document.

Support your responses with examples.
