The first step in analyzing and designing a system for a client is to gather specific details about the client’s business, including the company’s products or services and its stakeholder champions and users. One way to capture these details is through a form such as a Request for System Services. For this course project assignment, you will use such a form to gather details about the fictitious business you will be working with throughout the course.

To complete this assignment, do the following:

1. Select an IT project idea that you are interested in developing. For example, your project may involve a new system for a restaurant that includes online ordering, or a new system for a manufacturing company that includes the whole process from raw materials to sales. You could also use an idea of a system that you thought would work well in a place you have worked before.
2. Research the different models of the systems development life cycle. Be prepared to identify which one will work best for your specific project and explain the rationale behind your choice in the next step of this assignment.

Throughout your degree program, you will use research literature to explore ideas, guide your thinking, and gain new insights. As you search the research literature, it is important to use resources that are peer-reviewed and from scholarly journals. You may already have some favorite online resources and databases that you use or have found useful in the past. For this Discussion, you explore databases available through the Walden Library.

Reading Response Assignment 2

Due April 4th

The reading response should be a short reflection on an assigned reading. You will be required to complete three reading responses throughout the semester. You may turn in your response any time during the unit as long as it is completed by the due dates listed.

Note: Remember that each reading response is now worth 5% of your total grade, therefore your response should be thoughtful and well-edited.

A good reading response will do the following:

• Be at least one page (approximately 300 words)
• Be mostly free of grammatical or mechanical errors
• Make clear that you’ve not only done the reading, but that you’ve spent some time thinking about the reading and its larger implications
• Make clear your own thoughts and beliefs about the reading (Note: use of first-person is appropriate for these assignments)
