Surgery: Iturralde v. Hilo Medical Center USA
Prompt: In this milestone, you will complete part of your analysis of the malpractice case. Using this analysis of the case, you will address the facts pertaining to

the medical standard of care, breach of care, and causation. Specifically, the following critical elements must be addressed:

I. Introduction:
A. Summarize the case, including information on the stakeholders involved, the problem, and the time period the incident occurred.

II. Medical Malpractice Component: In this section, you will evaluate the case to address the legal components, the malpractice policies similar to this case, and the standard of care given to the patient and how it was breached. Then, you will draw connections to how this malpractice case impacted stakeholders and healthcare consumers outside of the case.

  1. Explain the key legal components of the case, including the nature of the issue and the rules that applied.

  2. Determine relevant malpractice policies in place for addressing the issues within the case.

  3. Analyze the malpractice case for the standard of care provided to the victim. Be sure to apply what the law states about standard of care to
support whether or not it was breached in the case.

  4. Analyze how the malpractice case would impact healthcare consumers from different cultural backgrounds. For example, would this case have a
similar impact on a person from a culture different from the one in the case? How could this incident change the views of these healthcare
    consumers toward the healthcare system?

  5. Assess the malpractice case for accountability based on its severity. To what extent was the healthcare provider held accountable?

Case below is what the paper needs to be answered.

Project In Powerpoint

 Fall Prevention Program Project

Students will research and develop a Fall Prevention Program for the safety of the elder. The project will outline the goals and interventions, marketing plan, and estimated cost of the program.

You will work in groups of two and create a Falls Program for an imaginary institution. The choice of institution is yours to decide. You will be given the latest industry clinical standards, that are based on evidence-based evidence such as studies from peer-reviewed journals and a program on Powerpoint that will help clarify the important risk factors. From this material, and any other evidence-based, peer-reviewed, recent journals (within the last three years), you will create a Falls Prevention Program incorporating all the factors that you can find and creatively utilize them to use as interventions in your program.

The due date is on the calendar and students will select a partner and notify me by the date posted who their partner will be. If this turns into a chaotic scramble, I will assign the students that do not have a partner.

Promoting Health Care Quality 18899739

Project 1: Promoting Health Care Quality

In this course, you develop a comprehensive Course Project: Promoting Health Care Quality.

To initiate this project, this week you examine the systems and structures of an organization with which you are familiar.

Organizational Systems and Structures Evaluation

When a problem related to health care quality and patient safety arises, there can be an inclination to focus on a specific event rather than to examine the larger context surrounding it. Analyzing the systems and structures within an organization provides a foundation for generating a fuller understanding of how and why the event occurred and for developing strategies to address the underlying issues. Perhaps more importantly, such an analysis can be used to proactively identify potential challenges and improve organizational systems and structures in order to promote positive outcomes. In the first section of your Course Project, you analyze the systems and structures of a health care organization with which you are familiar.

To prepare:  Identify a health care organization with which you are familiar; one that you will be able to sufficiently analyze to complete the full scope of the Course Project.

Select two or more of the following frameworks: o Learning organizations o Complex adaptive systems (CAS) o Clinical microsystems o Good to great o

The 5 Ps You may use the same frameworks that you addressed in this week’s Discussion. 

With these frameworks in mind, analyze the systems and structures of the organization. Be sure to research and consider: o Mission, vision, and values o Strategic plan, goals, and objectives, if possible o Key operational processes and patterns o Information technology use o Organizational priorities and investments, as indicated by financial data.

Section 1: Organizational Systems and Structures Evaluation  As you continue your evaluation of a health care organization, it is essential to pay attention to culture. Organizational culture provides the context in which all interactions and processes occur, and is therefore central to any effort to enact change.  To prepare: •Continue to analyze your selected organization, as indicated in Week 3 (Section 1 of the Course Project). •In addition, consider the ideas and information exchanged in this week’s Discussion. Continue to analyze essential elements of organizational culture and evaluate the influence of culture on the ability to achieve goals within your selected organization.

To complete:  Write a 4- to 5-page paper in which you:

•Provide a description of the organization you selected

•Present your analysis of the organization with attention to:

•Its mission, vision, values

•Strategic plan, goals, and objectives

•Key operational processes and patterns

•Information technology use

•Organizational priorities and investments, as indicated by financial data

•The essential elements of the organization’s culture

•The influence of culture on meeting organizational goals.

Promoting A Healthy Self Esteem

Let’s suppose you have just started working in a long-term care facility, as a nurse, and you have a client who has been living there for several years. He/she does not want to participate in any activities, only comes out of their room for meals, walks a bit hunched over with a cane, is not well groomed, and does not seem to have made any true friendships with the other residents. This person can be male or female and seems to be angry most of the time when interacting with others.

How would you go about establishing a rapport with this person? If the client accepts you, what questions would you ask him/her in order to identify the reasons for why they do not participate in activities and what did the client tell you? Depending on their answer, do you think they suffer from low self-esteem, disturbed body image, fears of some kind, anxiety, or hopelessness? Finally, list several interventions you would find in the care plan that could help this person to gain happiness in life and why they may be helpful.
