John is a doctor in Hope Geral hospital. The doctor has been working for five years. He started working in this hospital when he acquired his degree though this is the hospital in which he did his internship. Doctor John is the doctor in judge in Hope General Hospital. The doctor’s leadership style is transformational leadership. The doctor is focused on bringing change to the organization. Dr. John leads his team, and also he is a mentor to most nurses who are doing their intern in the organization, Dr. John takes at least three hours to monitor what the nurses in practice are doing and also he uses this time to guide them. The Dr is also friendly to the patient, and most patients have hi number, and they can call the doctor any time within the working hours for assistance. For emergency cases, the doctor has another number that patients use to call for help. The doctor works both within the organization and outside when the need arises.
Dr. John is a transformational leader; he communicates a lot with his team (Gray et al., 2017). He conducts a lot of open meetings; this is to allow his team members to express their views regarding the change the doctor he what to make. Since Dr. John was assigned as the doctor in judge, he has made a lot of changes within the organization. At first, the rate of readmission was 40%, but in the past five years, the rate has dropped by half.
The doctor has a vital role he is playing within the organization; the Dr ensures that every department is running effectively, and also he has a communication chain that helps him to gather information which can help the organization become more productive. Dr. John encourages a lot of teamwork. An example, in every ward, Dr. John ensures that there are three professionals from different departments who are delivering care to the patients.
I chose Doctor John as my preceptor because some time ago, I accompanied my father to the hospital, and his case required this particular doctor to attend to him. As the doctor as examining him, he sounded friendly and ready to explain to us every procedure my father will require, and also, he made us understand the health issue that was affecting my father. From this incident, I saw the doctor be the best mentor to me. Most people from my community also trust the doctor due to his good work. The doctor is in charge of the organization he has ensured that professions are comfortable within the organization and will the recruitment team members to focus on other things instead of recruiting professionals regularly. Due to the change today, patients are safe in HGH, and the patient outcome has improved significantly.
Different health care leaders have different strategies that can help an organization, but also patients can be of great help in giving views that will govern the organization (Nelson et al., 2015). The purpose of a health care organization is to achieve the patient outcome; therefore, to get to know what the patients can be of great help. When conducting health care, this can be the best time to understand what the patients need. Different patients have different needs, but the primary need is quality services; thus, from the many options the patient will give, the leader should choose the best views.
The leader can protect health issues; this is because the primary role of a health care leader is to ensure the organization can deliver quality services that help to achieve the patient outcome (Hannum et al., 2017). An example, falling has been an issue in most health care organizations. Looking at the problem, some organizations have overcome the issue while others have not. The difference is causes be the difference in governance. In HGH, the leader aims to make a change; thus, this leader has made proper strategies that will help him achieve this change, and results have been observed even though not to its maximum. Dr. John has been able to protect his team, which is to ensure that their jobs are secured.
Ethics can be an issue if a leader does not take a good look at the problem. Today HGH has all the principles of ethics; this has helped the organization to receive the patient had lost to the competitors. Dr. John, together with his team, when an issue arises, they discuss, and Dr. John makes the final decision. For many years the organization had problems with high recruitment, which affected a lot the organization’s productivity, but since Dr. John was chosen as a leader, this has reduced significantly.
The issue Dr. John has encountered regarding organization data is the lack of useful data. Dr. John, when he reported first at the office, a lot of data, especially the finance files, were missing at that time the organization was falling due to lack of funds. Dr. John is not sure what he was to do to help the organization because even the drugs were not available at the organization. Dr. John made strategies and got some money, which enabled him to manage the organization until it was stable. The finance issue affected the organization for about two years. Today the organization is trusted with the community, and also they receive a patient from other communities this shows that the organization is now stable

TOPIC:Community Stakeholders: Who Minds the Gate?) HIV/AIDS IN LOW INCOME COMMUNITIES
In any successful research endeavor, one of the first and most important steps is to define the study population. To survey or collect data on this population, researchers first must have access to individuals within it. However, access is not always guaranteed. In many cases, researchers must identify those in the position of power and seek their approval and buy-in of decisions related to a particular population. In the field of research, these individuals are known as gatekeepers. Crosby, DiClemente, and Salazar (2013) define gatekeepers as “people who are in positions to grant or deny access” (p. 107).
Consider the example scenario in this week’s Introduction regarding the reduction of waterborne illnesses. After the failure of the free shoe program, the organization now decides to investigate the feasibility of implementing a more hygienic set of latrines in a local school that serves hundreds of children. Who might be the gatekeepers in this situation? The school principal? The owners of the local water supply? Once these gatekeepers have been identified, what are the next steps in terms of gaining buy-in from them?
For this week’s Assignment, review the Learning Resources. Consider why certain individuals are gatekeepers and need to be involved in program planning and interventions.
Assignment:

/in Uncategorized /by developer4-Different people are motivated differently, and the motivation is determined by the desire of such an individual. For instance, extrinsically motivated individuals get their drive from the fact that they do not what to do anything which might bring punishment or negative outcome. This means that the factors which are motivating the individual are from outside and they may comprise of a good grade, recognition or financial benefits among others. On the other hand, individuals who are intrinsically motivated get their drive from within themselves. As a leader, I would motivate an intrinsically motivated individual by determining what drives the person then nature those factors. For instance, to the nurses who strive to bring the best to the patient, I would motivate them by encouraging them during the council meeting. To the nurses who are motivated extrinsically, I will find what drives them and nature them to improve service delivery (Katzenbach, & Smith, 2015).
As part of management in my department, I spend a lot of time talking to the patients, and if they happen to share a positive experience with a particular nurse, I always recognize them b writing a “Thank You” note and give them an opportunity to share their story during our meetings. Most of the nurses who are performing better in my department say that they are happy to be in a team where they are given an opportunity to give their views, and they are motivated once they meet their target or go out their way to help the patients in their best way possible. As a leader, I make sure that there is a good and clear communication channel in my department and this has seen us be voted the best department in our facility.

5- There are differences between individuals who are intrinsically motivated and those who are extrinsically motivated. According to the Vanderbilt University website, intrinsically motivated people find joy and accomplishment from learning something, and they find a way that it is relevant to their life (Mcdaniel, 2018). Someone who is intrinsically motivated will likely self-sustain this type of learning; this is an advantage, as it allows for life-long learning of the individual (Mcdaniel, 2018). It would be necessary to understand what is truly interesting to the individual before attempting to motivate. Since this comes from within a person, the interest needs to come genuinely from that particular individual. Mcdaniel states that using extrinsic rewards to someone who is intrinsically motivated can actually have a negative impact, as it takes away the intrinsic desire to learn (2018).
Extrinsically motivated people find their motivation from other’s expectations; the expectations can come from wanting to please parents, obtain good grades, please role models, etc. (Mcdaniel, 2018). The advantage of extrinsic motivation includes the relatively quick behavior change of the individual, for example, the student receiving a scholarship will be motivated to keep up their grades in order to keep the scholarship money (Mcdaniel, 2018). Motivation for this individual could be as simple as a reward for doing well. For example, everyone who receives a “B” or higher on the test will get to participate in a pizza party.
There are different characteristics that a performance driven team embodies. “These include a common purpose; agreed-on performance goals or results-driven structure; competent members; a common approach for the work; complementary skills; a collaborative relationships; mutual accountability; standards of excellence; external support; and principled leadership” (Huber, 2014, p. 135). Normal guidelines need to be developed before the group beings working together. I have personally seen this used in my nurse residency program that my facility enrolls me in. During the first day, the instructor asked the class for guidelines and rules for the class. The class came up with them, and we will be held accountable to our rules for the duration of the residency. I feel that developing the guidelines as team will help with the receptiveness of the rules.

6- thank you for your response. You are blessed to be working in such a supportive, respectful, and rewarding environment. Sounds like you are good team members; there’s strong communication skills, trust, and friendship. Also, you all share the same goal: to provide excellent nursing care to all patients whether it is your patient or your colleagues. I can imagine that the energy on your unit is pleasant and you problem solve well? Nice to know that if you have a stressful day where you’re feeling overwhelmed, somebody will come and assist. My unit is similar to what you’re describing. It makes a big difference to be able to count on your co-workers, and they know they can count on you as well. Thank you. I am happy for you.
