Jeff Bezos Continues To Take Amazon In The Lead Of E Commerce And Surpass Their

Jeff Bezos continues to take Amazon in the lead of e-commerce and surpass their competition through investment in services that are integral in reaching their strategic goals of enhancing the customer experience. In 2016, Bezos announced his focus on Amazon’s fulfillment service and Prime, a membership subscription for customers (Kang, 2016). Amazon has invested in the construction of eighteen new fulfillment centers to meet the demands of increased membership subscriptions through Prime, which enables customers to shop more frequently without the added concern of shipping fees, and be able to respond efficiently during the holiday season. According to Levy (2017), Amazon chief financial officer (CFO), Brain Olsavsky, noted that a large percentage of Amazon’s fulfillment center expansion occurred in the latter half of 2016, which is where we see an increase in capital expenditures and investments (Nasdaq, 2019), and with further expansion goals for the last quarter of 2017 and moving into the new year. The company has investment in technological advancements that has allowed them to be efficient in the production and delivery of their products and services, further engagement of more customers, and increased overall satisfaction and ease. The company has released their own electronic devices; Many of their products feature their interactive artificial intelligence (AI), Alexa, and their highly efficient fulfillment warehouses are operated by robots. All these investments in technology has supported their commitment to their customers and mission goals.

What I have learned from Jeff Bezos is his commitment to his customers and upholding Amazon’s mission, “To be earth’s most customer-centric company; to build a place where people can come to find and discover anything they might want to buy online” (Farfan, 2017). What I have learned is that a strong mission can help guide innovation and growth.

Jed Herman And Jane Live In Washington D C Jed And Jane Entered The Local Bank A

Jed, Herman, and Jane live in Washington, D.C. Jed and Jane entered the local bank and took $65,000. Jed and Herman both used shotguns during the robbery, though no one was hurt. Jane drove the getaway vehicle. Two hours later, as they headed toward the Canadian border, they were stopped by the police for speeding and taken into custody. The police determined that Jed and Jane matched the eyewitness descriptions of the robbers. Jane confessed their bank robbery scheme. Jed and Herman denied their involvement. The police only recovered $25,000 in cash, but were unable to determine if the recovered money was taken from the bank. The police determined that Jed was a convicted felon at the time of the armed bank robbery. The local police and FBI were involved in the investigation. The defense attorneys for each defendant (Jed, Herman, Jane) request a continuance for four months to sift through the evidence. The prosecution objects and argues that the delay would significantly clog the court’s already heavy workload. In the alternative, the prosecution argues that if the court grants a continuance, then the prosecution should be allowed to prolong turning over the remaining discovery. The defense attorneys object and argue that this hinders their effective representation of their clients and would hinder a prompt resolution. The defense attorneys further argue that their clients deserve a well prepared and thorough defense. The judge currently has trials blocked over the next 10 months and wants to try the case now.

Specifically, the following critical elements must be addressed: II. Judicial Administration

C. Identify the key role within federal and state judicial systems that most impacts process. How does this role aid in creating and maintaining an efficient and effective judicial process?

D. Determine the impact of venue on process efficiency in this scenario. Defend your response.

F. Explain how a four month continuance affects the efficiency of any court under the circumstances presented in the scenario. Defend your response.

Jeffrey Mogul is a Hollywood film producer and he is currently evaluating a script by new screenwriter and director, Betty Jo Thurston. Jeffrey knows that the probability of a film by a new director being a success is about .10 and the probability it will flop is .90. The studio accounting department estimates that if this film is a hit, it will make $25 million in profit, whereas if it is a box office failure, it will lose $8 million. Jeffrey would like to hire noted film critic Gene Sickel to read the script and assess its chances of success. Sickel is generally able to correctly predict a successful film 70% of the time and correctly predict an unsuccessful film 80% of the time. Sickel wants a fee of $1 million. Determine if Sickel should be hired, the strategy Mogul should follow if Sicket is hired, and the expected value. Please show all work and provide explanation
