In a seamless posting, please incorporate the following questions into your initial postings:

Discuss the differences between a null hypothesis and an alternative hypothesis. In doing so, elaborate on why typically qualitative method studies do not state a hypothesis. Additionally, if you are going to use hypotheses in your research proposal list and discuss them.

Student expectations for Forum questions:

Your initial Forum posts require a minimum of a 500 word substantive response. All follow-up responses (minimum of 2) should require 250-300 words.

In A Snail Race You Time How Fast Your Snail Is Slithering

In a snail race, you time how fast your snail is slithering. It is slow so he has devised a scheme to use interference of light to help him measure it. Two parallel thin glass plates are oriented vertically as seen below. The plate on the right moves to the right at a constant speed “v”. When 500 nm light is incident normal to the plates from the left you observe the light to be strongly reflected every 10 seconds. What is the speed of the glass plate on the right?

In A Sample Of Oxygen Gas At Room Temperature The Average Kinetic Energy Of All

In a sample of oxygen gas at room temperature, the average kinetic energy of all the balls stays constant. Which postulate of kinetic molecular theory best explains how this is possible?

Attractive forces between gas particles are negligible because the particles of an ideal gas are moving so quickly.

Collisions between gas particles are elastic; there is no net gain or loss of kinetic energy.

Gases consist of a large number of small particles, with a lot of space between the particles.

Gas particles are in constant, random motion, and higher kinetic energy means faster movement.

In A Skating Stunt Known As Crack The Whip A Number Of Skaters Hold Hands And Fo 1

In a skating stunt known as “crack-the-whip,” a number of skaters hold hands and form a straight line. They try to skate so that the line rotates about the skater at one end, who acts as the pivot. The skater farthest out has a mass of 69.0 kg and is 6.0 m from the pivot. He is skating at a speed of 6.60 m/s. Determine the magnitude of the centripetal force that acts on him.

In a situation where property is stolen, for example a rental car being stolen and broken up into parts, making physical restoration of the property in question impossible. Discuss, with reference to case law, the only delictual remedy that is available to BOTH an owner and a non-owner who have a lawful interest in such stolen property.

In your answer you must discuss the requirements for a successful reliance on this remedy in full. Bear in mind that there are circumstances in which it is possible to use this remedy as an alternative to the rei vindicatio.

In A Situation Where I Was Preparing To Upgrade A User From Windows 7 To Windows

In a situation where I was preparing to upgrade a user from windows 7 to windows 8.1 there are several things, I would check to ensure the upgrade goes smoothly. First I would ensure the users system is running a healthy version of the current OS. Then I would ensure that the system I am upgrading meets the requirements of the new OS and that I have a good product key for the new OS. In this situation where I am upgrading from windows 7 to windows 8.1 I would perform an in place upgrade following the steps outlined in chapter 8-2 of the textbook. I would also take note of all the peripheral devices the system is using prior to the upgrade. Once the system has finished the upgrade, I would ensure that it has network connectivity. I would also check that all peripheral devices that were working with the system prior to the upgrade are still working. If they are not I would visit any vendor sites needed to install the latest versions of drivers compatible with the new OS.

If I was preforming windows OS upgrades on multiple computers across a large network, I would look at using a system center configuration manager (SCCM) to automate the update. If a company is looking to upgrade its entire network to a new version of windows it is often completely impractical to upgrade, it all manually. One process I have used in the past to upgrade networks with tens of thousands of systems is to automate with SCCM and then ID any problem machines and have the customers bring those machines to the IT department for manual install. Without using some version of this process it is completely impractical to upgrade large networks.
