From this research it is clear that air pollution has become a major environmental health problem affecting both developed and developing countries throughout the world. The consequence has been that air pollution is causing human health problems as well as damage to vegetation, crops, wildlife, materials, buildings and even the climate. In the U.S., the largest sources of air pollution, in order of importance, are: 1) transportation, mainly automobiles and trucks. 2) electric power plants that bum coal or oil. and 3) industry, for which the major sources include steel mills, metal smelters, oil refineries, and paper mills. The most common air pollution problem resulting from these emission sources is ground-level ozone (O3), According to the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), non-attainment of EPA requirements for O3 is the most common air pollution problem facing large cities in the U.S. It is estimated that, 160 million people in the U.S. lived in areas that are in non-attainment of healthful O3 levels (Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development [OECD]. In the past, efforts to reduce air pollution have consisted primarily of “command and control” programs that involve enforcement of government regulations designed to reduce toxic emissions. Such programs have proven highly effective in reducing industrial, point source pollution and causing auto manufacturers to produce cleaner burning automobiles….

The stratospheric level of the earth’s atmosphere lies directly above the troposphere, which extends from sea level to approximately 8-9 miles above the earth’s surface. It is in the troposphere that nearly all forms of life on earth reside. Within the stratosphere lies a highly concentrated level of ozone, commonly referred to as the ozone layer. The highest concentrations of O3 within the stratosphere occur between 11-15 miles above the earth’s surface. This stratospheric ozone layer is essential to the maintenance of life on earth, protecting the earth’s inhabitants from the sun’s harmful ultraviolet (UV) radiation (Buchholz 1). Thus, free of human interference, the stratospheric ozone layer is continually maintaining a dynamic equilibrium between ozone production and ozone destruction that maintains the earth’s protective ozone layer. While O3 also occurs naturally in very small amounts at ground level in the troposphere, in urban areas throughout the U.S., tropospheric O3 levels are rising to unhealthful levels (Buchholz 1). In affected urban areas, O3 air pollution reaches its highest level between the months of May and September when temperatures are high and sunlight abundant. O3 forms at ground level when volatile organic compounds (VOC’s) combine with nitrogen dioxides (NOx) in the presence of heat and light (Buchholz 1). NOx is formed via the burning of fossil fuels at high temperatures, and is the primary precursor to O3, NOx and VOC’s, are emitted into the air by motor vehicles, electrical power plants and other industrial plants. Because the O3 molecule is highly reactive, it acts as a powerful oxidant.

Hi Need To Submit A 2500 Words Essay On The Topic Explaining Behaviour According

Hi, need to submit a 2500 words essay on the topic EXPLAINING bEHAVIOUR.

According the psychoanalytical theory of Freud, a child goes through a series of psychosexual stages as he grows up. Each stage is dominated by the development of sensitivity in a particular erogenous or pleasure-giving zone of the body. Freud identifies five stages of psychosexual development: the oral, anal, phallic, latent and genital. The oral phase starts from the moment of birth, when both needs and their fulfilment involve participation of child’s tongue, lips and teeth. Mouth is the first zone of body the child can control and due to this the most part of his sexual energy is focused on it. Later, when the child can control other parts of his body, a certain part of his energy still remains ‘cathected’ to his mouth. Therefore it is natural for a child to have a moderate interest to oral pleasures at this stage (Frager & Fadiman, 2000).

As the child grows up new zones of pleasure appear. At age between two and four years the child is learning how to control the anal sphincter and bladder, they obtain much of his attention. The process of toilet training excites the child’s interest to self-discovery. Since parents interfere with elimination pleasures, the child develops ambivalent attitudes toward them. As children resolve the conflict between their needs for parental love and instinctual gratification they evolve lifelong attitudes toward cleanliness, orderliness, punctuality, submissiveness, and defiance (Bateman & Holmes, 1995).

At the age of tree years the child enters the phallic stage of development: he focuses on his genitals. This phase is called phallic because the child starts to realize whether he has penis or not. At that point children understand the difference between two sexes. During phallic stage of development children treat their parents as a potential threat to fulfilment of their needs (Frager &

Hi Need To Submit A 2500 Words Essay On The Topic Effects Of Raising The Head Of

Hi, need to submit a 2500 words essay on the topic Effects of Raising the Head of the Bed on Reducing Ventilator-acquired Pneumonia.

From this discussion it is clear that some of the problems associated with VAP include. lengthy hospitalization, increased mortality rate ranging from 20%-70% ,depending on the patients’ medical condition, rise in hospital cost of health care ranging from $5,880 to over $20000 for every incidence. VAP makes up to half of all cases of nosocomial pneumonia incidents with nearly 50% of all antimicrobial agents administered in ICU for treating VAP. Studies show that manipulating the patient’s position by raising head of bed plays a crucial role in preventing VAP. Besides helping the intubated patient to assume certain positions of comfort, elevating the head of bed plays the modest role in lowering risk of ventilator –acquired pneumonia. This essay declares that raising head of bed is seen as the cheapest preventive measure for VAP that must be adopted in ICU and any other hospital unit nursing intubated patients that require a long hospital stay to recover. It is less costly to employ such type of preventive measure than to wait for the infection to occur then treat it. Critically ill patients have compromised respiratory function. hence VAP will worsen their conditions leading to poor patient outcome. Exploring on the effect of raising the head of the bed on reducing ventilator-acquired pneumonia reveals more than just the art of positioning, but also the scientific rationale behind it. This study seeks to dig up existing information on the importance of patient positioning in preventing respiratory complications during hospitalization. The main purpose is to find out the effect of raising the head of the bed on the cases of VAP. Understanding the effects of raising head of bed as a way of preventing VAP help nurses to achieve patient satisfaction, increased quality outcome and shorten the period of hospitalization.

Hi Need To Submit A 2500 Words Essay On The Topic Drugs Alchohol And Tobacco The

Hi, need to submit a 2500 words essay on the topic Drugs, Alchohol and tobacco.

The disease of substance abuse is distinguished by compulsivity, or the irrational, negligent, uncontrollable act of resorting to drugs, alcohol, and tobacco (French et al., 2010). This essay tries to prove that addiction is a disease through a thorough examination of the nature and extent of alcohol, tobacco, and drug use in the United Kingdom.

Some people consider addiction a disease because a number of occurrences can be associated with a biological tendency and because addictive substances alter the brain. Nevertheless, every goal-directed action is moderated by the brain, and acquired behaviour is largely influenced by changes in mental functioning (Pates & Riley, 2012). For instance, genetic research suggests a biological tendency towards different kinds of criminal activities, and it appears probable that later studies will reveal that particular environmental phenomena change the brain in ways that raise the possibility of aggression or violence (Ghodse et al., 2011). Hence, by the principle of biology, criminal acts would in time develop into a disease. The assumption that addicts abuse substances against their will has been fluently explained by researchers and medical practitioners. Miller and Chappel (1991 as cited in Brownsberger & Heymann, 2009, p. 100) stated that addiction is a disease because addicts have an uncontrollable urge to abuse substances.

Yet, the assumption that behaviour is ‘uncontrollable’ does not appear to involuntarily make it a disease. Moreover, the argument that addicts are not capable of controlling their substance use is incorrect (Barton, 2012. Rassool, 2008). For instance, DSM criteria classify people who smoke one pack a day as addicts, but ever since the 1964 statement of the Surgeon General on the health impacts of smoking, tens of millions of heavy smokers have stopped smoking (Brownsberger & Heymann, 2009, pp. 100-101). Furthermore, majority of them quit without clinical support. they

Hi Need To Submit A 2500 Words Essay On The Topic Does Collectivism Have A Futur

Hi, need to submit a 2500 words essay on the topic Does collectivism have a future Drawing on theoretical insights and the evidence, critically evaluate the factors that determine its relevance for UK employee relations.

Moreover, while there has been progress in the study of managerial leadership behaviour in various countries of the globe (Den Hartog, House, & Hanges, 1999. Kuchinke, 1999. Maczynski & Koopman, 2000), world wide research in leadership styles of entrepreneurs is minimal (Ardichvili, Cardozo, & Gasparishvili, 1998). Lastly, while there have been several studies that have been undertaken on psychological and behavioural distinctions between entrepreneurs and managers within a Western setting (i.e. the UK) (e.g., Brockhaus, 1982. Brockhaus & Nord, 1979. March & Sharipo, 1987), there is a dearth of literature on the comparison of leadership styles of Western and non-western entrepreneurs and managers. While there is a wealth of literature discussing leadership styles across countries, there is a dearth of research specifically tackling the topic of entrepreneurial leadership.

The fact that legislation is a catalyst for economic growth and development is well known. Differing economic, cultural and political circumstances abroad also suggest the need for a better understanding of employees with a broad context is important. Fortunately, the ability to study the implications of policies on economic growth abroad is expanding rapidly as a result of the emergence of global private equity markets and micro finance. International entrepreneur ship spans cultural boundaries and involves a variety of stakeholders, including the entrepreneur, investors and policy makers (Asel, 2003). “Social considerations must be given the same status as economic, financial and environmental concerns in a holistic approach. It is time for global thinking and local action. The implementation of the Core Labour Standards and the laws and regulations that give effect to them at national levels can be significantly enhanced if the capacities of national labour inspectorates are built up and strengthened. Labour inspectors have a crucial role to

Hi Need To Submit A 2500 Words Essay On The Topic Critique Of Research Article I

Hi, need to submit a 2500 words essay on the topic Critique of Research Article.

In Australia, rural nurses represent an impressive percentage of the nursing community. According to the Association for Australian Rural Nurses, Inc. (Mission and Objectives), there are 90,000 Australian rural nurses. Drury (Online) commented that nurses in rural and remote areas of Western Australia are often sole practitioners, and that community mental health nurses were often sole care providers, responsible for coordinating all aspects of the clients’ care. Therefore, research relating to these 90,000-strong women and men is important to nursing and clinical practice. Topical research, such as treating patients with mental health problems, an area that challenges not just generalist nurses but also well-schooled mental health professionals, is certainly welcomed. The interest is not just theoretical, it is financial, too.

The Australian Medical Association’s Submission to the Senate Select Committee on Mental Health (April 2005) noted that between 2000-2001, four mental health-related concerns (Mental Disorders, Nervous System Disorders, Alzheimers/Dementias, Other Nervous System) were responsible for over 25% of the health spending in Australia. The raw figure for spending is in the untold millions. Thus, the provision of timely, appropriate, mental health care is not just an ethical or social imperative, it is a financial one, too, and information pertaining to such care is valuable.

Clark et al.’s (205-213) article, “Rural generalist nurses’ perceptions of the effectiveness of their therapeutic interventions for patients with mental illness,” according to the title, states it will discuss the nurses and “perceptions of the effectiveness of their therapeutic interventions for patients with mental illness” (205), certainly an important topic. This content description is echoed in the last paragraph of the Introduction, also. However, after reading one or two pages of the article or reviewing the

Hi Need To Submit A 2500 Words Essay On The Topic Joint Ventures Within The Ener

Hi, need to submit a 2500 words essay on the topic Joint ventures within the energy sector.

A combined force of Shell and Aramco strengthens the venture’s competitiveness. For instance, Saudi owns oil reserves, but lacks the ability to exploit them (Johnson, 2011). Therefore, this influences the government of Saudi to strike a deal with Shell. The state of Saudi has efficiently exploited the oil resource, while the investor gains some profit.

The energy sector takes different forms, this report will primarily focus on oil and gas as sources of energy. Apart from that, market factors in the petroleum sector contribute significantly to the well-being of an economy. Therefore, key stakeholders in this micro-economy continue to effect and affect the industry (Johnson, 2011). The primary players include National Oil Companies, International Oil Companies, and petroleum organizations. Therefore, when these parties’ work in harmony, petroleum players realize an increase in the efficiency of oil production. However, economic factors such as demand, supply, and industrial regulations influence the pricing and distribution of petroleum products. Consequently, competition among stakeholders increases since oil is a rare commodity.

Motive enterprise is a joint venture between Shell (an IOC) and Saudi Aramco (an NOC). Both of the shareholders own equal shares of the company. The company has its headquarters in Houston Texas. In 2004, the company posted a fiscal net profit of 24 billion dollars. Motiva owns and operates three oil refineries in the United States. Important to say, the expansion of Port Arthur refinery increased its capacity to 600000 meters cubic per day (Stevenson, 2011). Subsequently, Port Arthur refinery became the largest in North America and the fifth largest in the globe. Motiva produces diesel, petrol and petroleum liquid gasses and other crude oil products. United states are the fundamental customers of the company’s products.

Joint ventures between national and international firms can be realized through

It is about trying something new or replicating a process in a market where introduced developments challenge traditionally or customarily practice. It is about introducing a fresh perspective to look at products or process in a new way to improve products and services. This is a way too finding strategies for customer acceptance of the product and to ensure their satisfaction (Harris, 2010). Creative ideas do not simply pop up from nowhere. Often, this is a result of deep analysis, understanding, research, or from collective brainstorming which is maybe an accidental, deliberate or logical consequence of emergence of new or unorthodox thoughts (Infinite Innovations Ltd., 2011). Creative thinking flows from being constantly in touched with realities and are often questioning it, analyzing it with context and drawing some self-awareness about a product or ideas’ helpfulness. Creative thinking has its fundamentals too. This was explicated in Bloom’s Taxonomy which theorized that human thinking skills are characterized with knowledge, comprehension, application, analysis, synthesis and evaluation (Bloom, 1984). Knowledge refers to factual information that is learned from schools, experiences, stories and narrations or descriptions (Bloom, 1984). Comprehension is about cognitive understanding of meanings that either describes, forecasts, differentiates, identifies, explicates or interprets (Bloom, 1984). Application on the other hand means the utilization or maximization of information or knowledge to demonstrate, examine, classify, examine or experiment it to specific situations (Bloom, 1984). Analysis relate to examination of information to understand its framework, structure, meaning, applicability, and its context. Synthesis on the other hand means the application of prior knowledge and skills to combine and rearrange information to make a new pattern. This is different with evaluation– the latter includes cognitive ability in deciding or judging using set of criteria or standards (Bloom, 1984). Equipped with these skills, immediate advantage benefits business sectors who can make decisions with distinction, originality, and discriminate ability to nurture business with creative minds. Creative thinking is essential in entrepreneurial endeavors because marketing relate so much on developing products viz-a-viz price, place, promotion, packaging, competitiveness, people management, performance, psychodynamics, company’s stature and of branding to extol quality (Johnson &amp. Lamb, 2011). All these tasks demand sustainable strategies which can only be sourced from ingenuity, attitude and creativity of business leaders (Rajagopal, 2008) to meet the challenges of a competitive dynamics of the market. Moreover, innovativeness and competitive competence are relevant in business management that require techniques in conducting analytic studies done by marketers constantly involve in doing factor analysis, cluster analysis, multidimensional scaling, conjoint analysis and comparative analysis which help a lot in knowing consumers’ decision-making in purchasing commodities or products. Factor analysis determines statistical variability (Lehmann, Gupta &amp. Steckel, 1997) used in situation where data substantially large for study. Cluster analysis is done for grouped data (Lehmann, Gupta &amp. Steckel, 1997) and determines similarities and variations between local and regional markets.

d with a business opting for operating from another location. more often these include low cost, higher quality, lower risk, lower employee turnover, higher profits, to bring about a change in the way business is done, etc. The parent company’s goals can be varied, and accordingly the goals and objectives of outsourced company are laid (Bangeman, 2005).

Exactly for these reasons, Gail Lee, the managing director of Melbourne’s fashion retailer, Leethal Fashion Accessories, offshored some of its business to India. this included creation of ready-to-wear garments based on Australian designs that were sent by Leethal Fashion Accessories and also imported jewelry to be sold in local departmental stores. Besides the reasons for this business offshoring, LFA had to face some issues with respect to receiving the completed products on time due to delay in transport. Other issues were caused due to language and cultural barriers, which sometimes lead to misinterpretations and misunderstanding in the business dealing. These issues lower the confidence of Australian entrepreneurs in Indian business systems. yet, the huge difference in labour costs tends to outweigh losses caused by other issues (Hatch, 2006).

Indian economy is diverse, and ranges from traditional village farming to modern manufacturing and services. The contribution of services sector is said to be the maximum to the growth of India’s economy, which indicates availability of surplus labour. Statistics indicate that major portion of the services is provided by the English-speaking educated people in the field of Information Technology in the form of software services export (Rushton & Walker, 2007). Another major contributor to the economy is the small-scale industry segment which plays a pivotal role in employment generation with low capital investment. Estimates indicate that over 18 million people are employed in this industrial segment (John, M.S, 2002). Cottage industries are mostly run by
