Hi, need to submit a 1000 words essay on the topic Poetry Analysis: Sailing Home from Rapallo, by Robert Lowell.

A brief analysis of the quality and content of the poem is the focus of this paper.

The poem opens with the poet’s grief at the departure of his mother, “tears ran down my cheeks”. But before the readers could settle down to share his tears. he shakes them off from it to take them to the real reality. “The crazy yellow and azure sea” seen from the ship reminds him that nature outside is active, and he realizes that nature is indifferent to the death of his mother. He is caught between the temporal and the eternal. Time moves on “bubbling” and “blasting”. This is further illustrated by showing the fellow passengers warming themselves in the sun on the deck, while “our family cemetery in Dunbarton lay under the white mountains in the sub-zero weather”.

Suddenly the poet thinks of his father too, as he was engaged in the thought of his family. The abrupt change in tone shows that everything was not well in the family relationship. He does not hide his attachment to his mother. And his father’s strained relationship with his mother is evident in the tone. Not only that, he says his father was an “unhistorical soul”. Thus poem which had its emotional beginning now reveals several facts, the poet’s family secrets. As the readers share these facts, the personal becomes universal, exposing man’s inability to adjust and adapt to situations even in a family. The strenuous relationship between husband and wife is a common fact in society. Yet people pretend otherwise. The hollowness of human pretension is thus shown as part of the poetic content. Without losing his journey motive, the poet exposes the human vanity in a sarcastic way. Those shipmates exhibiting warmth up there on the upper deck too will one day go down like his mother, hiding their inner strains.

Therefore, the poem has an artistic structure, which can accommodate various aspects of human life. It opens with a three line stanza,

1) Psychoanalytic theory According to Freud’s psychoanalytic theory, defence mechanisms are the processes in which individuals reach solutions in order to reduce apprehension and anxiety (Frick, 1991). Repression relates to preventing unconscious thoughts from entering the conscious mind. An earlier experience of sexual molestation may be repressed by an individual in later life. Regression is the reversion on an earlier stage of development due to undesirable impulses. A teenager may resume bed wetting after experiencing stress or clinical depression. Displacement is the mechanism where individual conveys aggressive and sexual urges to a substitute object or person. An example is hitting a dog after a frustrating day at work. Sublimation is the diversion of negative inclinations usually sexual in nature to more positive actions like artistic work. One could become involved in cancer charity work after the death of a loved one due to cancer. Reaction formation implies that individuals substitute their unconscious negative thoughts and impulses with something directly opposite to the impulses. A religious person might harbor gay tendencies but deny this and become a fierce critic of homosexuality. Projection entails the displacement and attribution of undesirable thoughts to other people, or in rare cases to animals or inanimate objects. An employee may dislike the boss where projection occurs when the employee refuses to acknowledge this by saying, where after a mistake in the workplace that the boss dislikes the employee. Rationalization is the process involving forming opinions and explanations on the occurrence of certain things by not acknowledging the truth. After failing a driving tests many times, one may rationalize by that the price of gasoline is high, and cars are expensive to maintain. Freud’s psychoanalytic theory provides a robust framework for understanding the relevance of early behavioural patterns in influencing personality development. The theory assumes that defense mechanisms are critical in understanding the personality types of behaviour. Personality is the result of early childhood experiences, and subsequent defense mechanisms to deal with negative impulses. Despite the popularity of Freud’s theory there are various criticisms, firstly the theory ignores the impact of adaptation and interpersonal relations on personality. Thus, it only assumes that personality is mainly shaped at earlier stages of life. In addition, it lays much emphasis on early occurrences while ignores the inner destructive impulses. The theory cannot be tested empirically. hence, their scientific impact is also difficult to evaluate. B) Social cognitive theory Under external locus of control, people believe that their destiny depends on external factors beyond their immediate control. Thus, under this theory people are likely to avoid difficult tasks if they think that they may not achieve the desired results (Ayers, et al, 2007). An example would be where one may believe that failure in business is because the economy is in poor shape while ignoring their incompetence. Internal locus of control focuses on the ability to shape the destiny from the surroundings through actions and behavior. The level of motivation is thus high since there is a belief that they control their own destiny. Challenges are motivating factors among people in this group to readily accept failure or success from their part.

Prejudicial attitudes are dangerous because these are based on mere beliefs or impressions which can be very far from the truth. It can lead to wrong assumptions and then lead further into erroneous actions or judgment on someone who may fit a certain stereotype. Some of the ways to avoid prejudice is to keep an open mind and see a person for what he or she is and dispose of the preconceived notions one may have against another individual. Another is to have adequate and open channels of communication to prevent prejudice from taking more sinister forms such as an action that is discriminatory or exclusionary which is what happens if a person has the wrong or incomplete information to make an informed and wise decision. Biases are dangerous traits because it prevents rational arguments from influencing a rigid outlook or viewpoint from being changed and corrected. A biased person therefore can be said to have a warped mind and precludes an impartial judgment on any matter being discussed. Most of biased persons end up as bigots who are inflexibly intolerant of other people and their opinions. it can lead to conflicts from an irrational fear, hatred or suspicion of a particular group. Discussion Prejudice pertains to the attitudes of a person towards a particular group that is not totally correct because these are based on incomplete or wrong information. Prejudice can be thought of as a form of latent discrimination because there is as yet no actual action taken by that person to express or externalize those distorted attitudes, values and beliefs. Prejudice can vary in intensity or mode of expression but all its forms exhibit a negative sentiment towards a certain group or to an individual belonging to that group (Brown, 2010, p. 35). Although not outwardly manifested, prejudice has serious consequences for any society because of its adverse impact on any target. On the other hand, stereotyping of people is putting them into “neat” categories which are often mistaken because these are based on the wrong beliefs, or in short, a prejudiced viewpoint. A stereotype is an over-simplified conception, notion, representation or image that conforms to a particular set of characteristics of a group of people but disregards any individual traits. It is very damaging to a person because that particular person may not have the same group features. It is a bad to stereotype someone because it imputes negative attributes (Zanna &amp. Olson, 1994, p. 1). A person who classifies people because of unique characteristics is guilty of stereotyping. Lastly, discrimination is the overt manifestation of prejudice and stereotyping. It is external and expressed through actions which are favorable to one group and injurious to another group. Discrimination results from the prejudices of a person who then makes a distinction between the stereotypes of a certain group to which an individual belongs and makes a decision based on the group’s features or characteristics and no longer on the individual merits of a person. Different Kinds of Biases – the subtle bias is often unconsciously practiced by the person. It means he or she is even not aware of the inherent bias.

Hi Need To Submit A 1000 Words Essay On The Topic Reflective Teaching Framing Re

Hi, need to submit a 1000 words essay on the topic Reflective Teaching.

Framing reflective teaching

For an individual to undergo a development process to a reflective thinker, Valli and Buese (2007) advise on employment of various approaches. These approaches are inclusive of critically observing the others as well as one self, team teaching, and exploration of an individual’s teaching approach through writing.

In any approach, Valli and Buese (2007) insist on a process that is divided into three parts.

The first part is the event itself. This step is perceived as critical at the onset of any episode that will incorporate actual teaching. While the critical reflection is usually targeted at developing the individual teaching approach of a teacher, there is a possibility of self-reflection being stimulated by observing the teaching of another person.

The next stage usually involves event recollection. This stage usually details the event of the eventual happening without having to observe the teaching of another person. Generally, various procedures are usually employed during the phase of recollection. These procedures include. detailing the event, recording of an event, or incorporation of coding systems for capturing the event details. The third stage involves reviewing and responding to the event. As a result of focusing on the objective event description, the event is reviewed for the participants. This is the stage at which a deeper level of event processing takes place coupled with asking questions that are connected to the experience.

Reflection on a pretend observation of a k-3 classroom with children of diverse backgrounds

The subject matter for this day was Reading. The teacher read a story from the textbook about obedience. She took the big pictures she prepared last night for this activity. As she animatedly told the story, she flashed the pictures and stressed certain significant words. The children were listening with awe.

From time to time, the teacher would ask the children to repeat after her on certain words which she deemed important to be stressed and remembered. Some of these are “bun, bone, huge, leaf, left, enter, and several.”

When the reading activity was finished, the teacher asked the children about what they think of the boy who did not obey his mother, and about the consequence of his non-obedience. Some children answered actively, saying “it is bad not to obey parents.” The Asian children were more stressful about obeying their parents than were American children in the observed class.

The teacher then got some illustrations about letters of the alphabet. She asked each of the pupils to say the sound of certain letters, such as “mmmm” for the letter M and “Oh” for letter O. She would flash some pictures to reinforce the sounds of the letter. She also asked children with different nationalities to give a word that starts with letter O in their native dialect. She asked a Filipino child and he said, “Orasan” (clock).

Hi, need to submit a 1000 words essay on the topic Shanghai transportation.

ating in Shanghai city and this number is expected to rise in coming years as a result of rapid industrialization and general increase in disposable income associated with the growth of Shanghai’s economy. Motorcycles have increased over the last decade as more people prefer to use them for their convenience in snaking through traffic jams. These together with a staggering 7 million bicycles significantly increase crowding in the city (Dargay et al. 2014).

Nanjing road in the city is known to be the most crowded street in the world with various holidays including New Year and Christmas among others being celebrated in it. These attract significant crowds that gather to enjoy fireworks. Shanghai is renowned for the worst rush hour traffic jams that are unmatched in any other Chinese city with a jam index of 2.16. These rush hour jams mainly occur on Monday and Thursday mornings as well as on Friday evening when the jam index as high as 2.3 has been recorded. Express ways have been built to lower the traffic jams but their effect has been minimal (Danielson, 2010).

There are special lanes for buses with the city being home for the world’s broadest network of urban bus ways. There are a total of 1,000 bus routes that are run by many transportation firms. The Shanghai metro is a rapid transit system, which is a clever transportation idea comprising subways and light railways reaching all the major urban districts in the city and its suburbs (Chen, 2011). The Shanghai metro lines form the longest rapid rail network with a daily commuter population of over 7 million passengers. The bullet train is a rapid transport system that allows fast movements to and from Shanghai. Public transportation is not affected by airport operations and does not stop 2 miles from the airport as is the case in Los Angeles (Chinese academy of sciences, 2010).

Public transport accounts for over 90% of the daily journeys in Shanghai, which is the highest among global cities. China does

What is The Political Issue about Space in the Nationalist Rhetoric of the Hellenic Republic and the Republic of Macedonia? The Macedonian issue is an intricate political concern. Hypothetically speaking, this political incongruity is seen as an expression of Balkan patriotisms’ elevation of the conception of nationhood as the fundamental component for nation-building, as well as their associated subordination of citizenship. The hypothetical issue fundamental to this political disagreement concerns the handling and production of national narratives as a technique of developing the expected society of a nation. Sequentially, these national stories must be construed in the context of the contending Greek as well as Macedonian nationalisms. The majority of nationalism scholars judge this phenomenon as a product of the preceding 200-500 years, even though national narratives typically map out the history of a country back several hundred of years. Given that the concern addressed is nationalism as a dogma that aids the development of a political movement, the growth of subjective national recognition is seen as the product of a diversity of social processes, political, ideological, and economic (Armstrong 61). The solidity of the conception of a nation, as well as national identity, turns into problematical, and the theoretical ground alters from issues concerning a people’s nationality, to issues relating to the formation of a nation, as a type that provides political and emotional identification for a population. National identity in the Hellenic Republic as well as the Republic of Macedonia is seen as the product of incompatible claims that are created by relatively selective references to, as…

This research will begin with the summary about “Shakespeare in the Bush” by Laura Bohannan. Prior to departing from Oxford, Bohannan has a conversation with an acquaintance who alleges that Americans often do not comprehend the true significance of Shakespeare Hamlet, since Shakespeare was an exceptionally English writer. The acquaintance gives Bohannan a copy of Hamlet, to read while she is in the bush, in the hope of acquiring the grace of precise construal. She arrives eager to see the tribe community, with religious ceremonies and rituals, but because of the absence of elders, who are the tribal leaders, or small communities, the rituals cannot be performed. Storytelling is an immense component of the tribe’s culture and is regarded as a skillful art. Bohannan chooses to narrate the tale of Hamlet, recognizing that this is her opportunity to demonstrate that Hamlet is explicable in all cultures. While narrating the story, Bohannan experiences certain problems, as a result of cultural dissimilarity, and linguistic intricacies. She realizes that the tribe, on their cultural grounds, and beliefs generate their own construal of Hamlet. Another issue the paper will discover is what a Cosmology is. Cosmology may be defined as study of the universe in its whole. This includes the remote past as well as the future. It is essentially the study of the extensive nature of the cosmos. The fundamental themes concerning cosmology are. the contemporary nature of the universe, in the past, and how it may be in the forthcoming times.

Most of the evidences presented in the court of law firmly advocated that Ms. Johnson was guilty of killing Michael Thomas. In accordance with the case, it can be viewed that Michael Thomas, a 25 year-old man, was killed from being stabbed once directly in the heart that led to his death. It is further observed that at the time of his death, Michael Thomas was dating Kim Johnson’s sister, Latrice for a couple of years. Furthermore, he used to be violent and abusive at the time when he was drunk. Such acts of Michael Thomas have previously resulted in generating several domestic disputes with Latrice. On the night of the incident of alleged murder, Michael Thomas came to the apartment of Kim and Latrice to meet Latrice. Contextually, Latrice refused to meet him but still Michael Thomas and his friends continued to stroll around the building premise. Eventually, Ms. Johnson came down from her apartment and engaged in a heated argument with Michael Thomas. Moreover, during the argument threats were exchanged between the two. Ms. Johnson had a steak knife with her which she brought from her apartment. Subsequently, when Michael Thomas moved down close to the end of the fence and attempted to climb it, Ms. Johnson ran towards him and stabbed the steak knife directly into his heart which eventually caused his death. Thus, it can be affirmed that Ms. Johnson should be penalized for her act of 1st degree murder related to the killing of Michael Thomas. Statement of Law-Explanation of the Relevant Law in the Case 1st degree murder is defined as an act of killing which is both premeditated along with deliberate. In order to penalize an individual as guilty of first degree murder related to the killing of a person, there is a requirement of three basic elements to be considered that include willingness, deliberation along with premeditation and malice. In this similar concern, the term ‘willingness’ in the context of 1st degree murder specifies that the act of homicide is committed with the intention of ending a human life. Similarly, the terms ‘deliberation’ and ‘premeditation’ is correlated with the conscious intention to kill a person prior to the murder. Furthermore, the law governing 1st degree murder charge asserts that it must have malice. Correspondingly, malice generally includes an evil disposition or purpose which tends to harmfully affect human life (Thomson Reuters, 2013). A law related to the case can be recognized as an affirmative defense. Affirmative defense is a kind of legal defense which is recognized by criminal law. Affirmative defense is categorized into two groups that include: justifications and excuses. In this context, the aspect of justifications aims to argue that the act committed by an individual is not wrong and thus it is quite justifiable under certain given circumstances. Self-defense is categorized as one of the decisive aspects of the justification defense. Self-defense is determined as any countermeasure which facilitates to defend oneself from harm. Similarly, an excuse defense advocates that even though the act committed by an individual was wrong but there lays certain excuses for the defendant (Croddy &amp. Hayes, 2012). Argument With regard to the case of State v. Kim Johnson, it is found that Kim Johnson fulfills a number of legal criteria that makes her guilty for her act of 1st degree murder related to the killing of Michael Thomas.
