It can be affirmed from a broader outlook that the critical concern of cultural bias is quite discriminative in nature (Flanagan 153). With this concern, this paper intends to provide a comprehensive understanding about own cultural biases towards Africa through reading the text i.e. Curtis A. Keim’s ‘Mistaking Africa: Curiosities and Inventions of the American Mind’. DISCUSSION The book of Curtis A. Keim i.e. ‘Mistaking Africa: Curiosities and Inventions of the American Mind’ has portrayed certain significant ideas and perceptions that have broadly influenced or imposed extensive impacts especially upon social along with cultural aspects of Africa. This particular book provides a general idea about the existence of cultural biasness within the nation of Africa. According to the findings of the aforesaid book, it can be affirmed from a broader outlook that an individual can acquire a valuable idea about diverse aspects such as the use and the misuse of stereotypes, racism, exploitation and various other sorts of cultural aspects. The author in this book revealed that for several Americans, the nation i.e. Africa appears to be the indication of various surroundings i.e. dense jungles, safaris, strangely dressed tribesmen and ferocious animals. It is worth mentioning that Curtis A. Keim’s ‘Mistaking Africa: Curiosities and Inventions of the American Mind’ mainly concentrates upon conducting historical evolution and addressing the most widespread preconceptions along with myths concerning dissimilar cultures and people belonging to Africa (Keim 101-170). In order to present my own notions regarding cultural biases towards Africa through reading the abovementioned book of Keim, certain significant aspects need to be taken into concern and discussed broadly. In this similar context, it can be observed in Keim’s text that a huge majority of Americans considered the facets of exploitation and racism against Africa to be quite acceptable. This can be justified with reference to the fact that the Americans did enslave Africans and maintain segregation along with slavery system, though they by no means ruled colonies in Africa. According to my own perception, as the Americans did enslave the Africans, it can be stated that there laid the existence of cultural biasness within the nation by a significant level. Moreover, apart from enslaving the Africans, the treatment of the Africans as inferiors by the Americans also demonstrates the prevalence of cultural biasness within the nation at large. There also lay certain other significant evidences that have eventually developed my perception towards recognizing the prevalence of cultural biasness in the region of Africa. One of the evidences can be apparently observed in the readings of Curtis A. Keim’s ‘Mistaking Africa: Curiosities and Inventions of the American Mind’. This particular evidence which proves to be quiet effective in determining the existence of cultural biasness in Africa can be related with the notion of prejudice. With reference to the reading i.e. Keim’s ‘Mistaking Africa: Curiosities and Inventions of the American Mind’, it can be revealed that with every passing decade, Americans are incessantly treating Africans with less prejudice. Though the nation i.e.

And, in the process, the audiences will get to see a new version of reality. Fantasy will actually be able to come out of the books and the directors will be able to portray their version of fantasy on the movie screen. With technology it is possible to show imagination.

In the second scene from the movie, the director and the apprentice try to capture a local wedding in their video camera. In the beginning they seem really pleased with the progress but suddenly the mood of the wedding attendants’ changes. To get a good shot the two men stand right in the way of the wedding procession. The bride is being carried in a small decorated cart. The men with the bride see this as an interruption in their ceremony. They get angry and chase away the two men.

I see that anything new or strange always brings out hostility in people. They chases away the cameramen in the movie but today no wedding is complete without a camera man. This scene reminded me of the Benjamin’s words.

“Their most powerful agent is the film. Its social significance, particularly in its most positive form, is inconceivable without its destructive, cathartic aspect, that is, the liquidation of the traditional value of the cultural heritage.” (Benjamin, Ch. II)

“The change that has come about is an expression of the particular conflict in which painting was implicated by the mechanical reproducibility of paintings. Although paintings began to be publicly exhibited in galleries and salons, there was no way for the masses to organize and control themselves in their reception.” (Benjamin, Ch. XII)&nbsp.

Hi I Need Help With Essay On Miracles Week 3 Paper Must Be At Least 500 Words Pl

He works through Noah whom he instructs to construct an ark that He would use to save only eight righteous people (Genesis Chapters 7 and 8). The miraculous saving of Noah and his family is extraordinary and it portrays God’s supreme authority.

In a similar manner, God also appears to Moses in the form of a bush in flames. The bush was not consumed at all by the fire (Exodus chapter 3). Cognizably, this is an extraordinary happening as it defies the laws of nature. That way, God demonstrated that He is above nature and human understanding.

Moving on to the New Testament, Jesus raises Lazarus from death was miraculous (John chapter 11). When Jesus died, He also resurrects (Luke chapter 24). Reviewing these two events, it is observable that life is eternal and that God is life. In our contemporary society, if one performs such a miracle, the power may be attributed to the person rather than to God. The truth is that one can perform miracles through supernatural powers alone.

During the call of disciples, Jesus performs a miraculous catch of fish (Luke chapters 4 and 5). That makes Peter recognize Jesus as the Son of God since he knows that only God performs miracles for the good of the people (Elwell, 1996). From this, it is observable that miracles are limitless.

In conclusion, the Biblical concept of a miracle explains that God is Almighty, all-knowing and present everywhere. He manifests His power through people. When one performs miracles consistently for the good of the people, it is a revelation that the person is a true messenger of God.

In a low-context culture, more information is in transmitting messages in order to create the omitted (RAHMAN, 2005).

Amy Tan, daughter of John and Daisy Tan and was born in America after the divorce of her mothers’ first husband who turned out to be abusive. Daisy left her three daughters whom she would not see for nearly forty years, according to Joy Luck Club context (Eshbaugh, 2011). Featuring Amy as daughter in the Joy Luck movie explains more on the difficulties mothers and daughters face in communication. The theory explains that there were conflicts between Amy and her mother after the death of Mr. Tan and Amys’ elder brother from a brain tumor. Mrs. Tan and her other children moved to Switzerland, where Amy finalized her high school education. Her mother, however, choose where and which course Amy had to study as it was the culture back in China (Tan, 2012).

Amy contradicted her mother and took the course of her desire after which she got married to an American. Amy explored in many fields to find her satisfaction. She is the best example of daughters in Joy Luck Club as she grew between two cultures and tries to assimilate into American culture as a young child at the expense of Chinese culture (RAHMAN, 2005). She disagreed with her mother about her career plans and education (Tan, 2012). She never met her mothers’ expectations as the mother featured her daughter as a doctor and a concert pianist (RAHMAN, 2005). Amy’s mother never got married to another man while in China and had children in the previous marriage. The act resembles the life of Jing-Mei ‘s mother, who is a character in the movie (Eshbaugh, 2011). Amy Tan brought her mother to China to meet her daughters whom she left behind. The action is again similar to that of Jing-Mei in the movie, although Jing-Mei returns alone for her is dead. According to this theory, mothers and daughters tend to see things from another perspective as

Hi I Need Help With Essay On Motives For European Expansion In Africa In The 19t

Hi, I need help with essay on Motives for European expansion in Africa in the 19th Century. Paper must be at least 750 words. Please, no plagiarized work!

The reliance of these nations on raw materials for industries damaged the balance of trade forcing the countries to seek other sources of raw materials and cheap labor. Competition from newly industrialized nations such as Germany forced other European countries to seek expansion into Africa. Europe started by establishing trading relations with African leaders and encouraged the rulers to trade exclusively with them and not any other nation. At first, the European traders had no interest expanding into the interior of Africa. The partnership was such that the African rulers had assured them of a constant supply of slaves from the interior. However, the rapid expansion of industries in Europe made the colonialists look for more supply of raw materials and cheap slave labor from Africa. The European industries and economy depended particularly on West Africa for development. The palm oil developed from Africa was in high demand as an industrial oil in Europe. There was greed among the Europeans for greater profits and economic growth. The greed meant intensifying and increasing industrial production that meant expanding deeper and deeper into Africa. European conquest of Africa was majorly driven by economic motives and the desire to increase economic growth back in Europe. The Europeans realized that by conquering Africa, they could secure a very cheap supply of raw materials hence success and overall economic prosperity at home. The economic conditions in Europe in the 19th century fueled the scramble for Africa.

Hi I Need Help With Essay On Motivating Arab Americans To Participate In Politic

Hi, I need help with essay on Motivating Arab Americans to Participate in Politics. Paper must be at least 750 words. Please, no plagiarized work!

Susana Dabaja was the first Arab American to be elected as the president of the City Council of Dearborn City in Michigan. It was in January 2014 that Susana Dabaja and her other fellow Arab Americans i.e. David Bazzy, Robert Abraham and Mike Sareini made the majority of the 7 seat city Council of Dearborn (Elian).

In the year 2013, the highest volume of Arab American candidates was seen running the local offices which were never ever seen before in the history of America, thereby breaking ground in their own respective cities in the struggle to win the right to the “chair”. Currently, Arab Americans who are running offices in Dearborn City Council include Susan Dabaja – who is the president of the Council, Rose Hykel – who holds the position of the tax collector since the year 1997, Robert Alex Abraham who is also serving at the Council from year 2002 and Mike Sareini who is a Councilman.

According to the statistics, it can be seen that the number of Arab Americans involved in politics and running offices has drastically increased over the years. If we look through the number of Arab American running offices we can observe that they are quite less in number than the other ethnic groups present in America. The ratio of Arab Americans in American politics is less than many of the other ethnic group’s interests in the American politics. Although the number of Arab Americans has drastically increased after the Iraq War still it is less than many other groups. Therefore there is a need of motivating the Arab Americans to actively take part in politics or at least learn the importance of their vote so that their respective ethnic group is not deprived of their rights.

An example, the position vector of the particle gives the position of a particular time and this makes the velocity vector on the derivative of the position

Positional vector also location or radius vector is the representation of a point in the relation to an origin. Positional vector in geometry is used in two or three-dimensional space but it can generalize to include space with given number of dimensions. The vector is used in different geometry to describe continuous and differentiable space curves. The vector is also used in mechanics in equation of motion (Chatterjee, 2009). The function defines the motion of a particle with its location in relation to the given coordinate system. Positional vector is a function of time and the three derivatives are computed with respect to time. The derivatives are used in kinematics, engineering, and control theory.

Acceleration vector is the rate in which an object in motion changes its velocity the vector has no issue to deal with the going fast of an object in motion but it is concerned with the changing of how fast the object is moving (Davis and Porta, 1994). The consideration of acceleration vector is done in three dimensions. The acceleration vectors are even done to curved motions. The components of the vector is done to speed of traverse and also the curve in the direction of the velocity vector (Davis and Porta, 1994).Acceleration for the vector has also to do with centripetal components for the circular motions and is brought about done to the changes in direction and is always normal to the trajectory and also pointing towards the center of the curved path.

The vector is so much related to specific relativity, which describes the behavior of the objects that are travelling relatively to other object and accelerations that are approaching that of light in a vacuum (Davis and Porta, 1994). Acceleration vector is used in

Hi I Need Help With Essay On Moral Reasoning Natural Law Theory And Virtue Ethic

Hi, I need help with essay on Moral Reasoning: Natural Law Theory and Virtue Ethics. Paper must be at least 250 words. Please, no plagiarized work!

Moreover, the Principle of Double Effect allows an action to be done with an obvious good and bad effect provided that certain conditions are met. According to the article of Quill, he gave Diane barbiturates for sleep, and this medicine has a capability to put his patient into sleep to get rid of the pain and suffering, but the bad effect – it is a main ingredient of Hemlock Society suicide. I have heard a lot about mercy killing and barbiturates for sleep are just about it in the long run. In addition, Virtue ethics is about our very nature. We are the image of God – therefore we are good in nature. John Doe, for example, helps his neighbor in feeding their dogs while they are away because it is his very nature and he expects nothing in return. According to Hursthouse, it is a character trait of a person.

The Natural Law is not based on our natural responses. It is focused on the outcome of an unnatural deed to make one’s life better in a way to relieve the pain and suffering. Sullivan and Pecorino say that human have reasoning. Human beings are rational individuals, in that light, people can define the natural laws and these laws will guide them in their actions. John Doe, for example, drinks medicines to relieve him from pain, but taking too much of it is dangerous or even fatal. The act of taking too much medicine is against the natural law. The drug addicted persons in the rehabilitation center were doing morally wrong for taking prohibited drugs. Taking too much drug is an unnatural act, but this could not be judged as morally right because the result is obviously bad. It’s not about stopping the pain and suffering – it prolongs misery. In the contrary, the Virtue Ethics is different. It is about our character traits. A virtuous person remains virtues even in a difficult situation, unlike the Natural Laws. Virtue Ethics is more about the very nature of human beings. It said that being good is innate in us. When we talk about killing – virtue

hn’s attack attracted a lot of media attention and Ronald, who was in charge of the warders welfare, ordered a raid in the prison cells in search of weapons and in the process some of the inmates were badly injured and some succumbed to their injuries. This move was applauded by most people as they believed this would make criminals learn to behave well and respect the prison warders.

Kohlberg’s first stage of moral thought is obedience and punishment orientation, where a set of rules handed over by the authority should be obeyed unquestionably and failure to obey leads to punishment. This reasoning is evident in how Mary kept quiet for a prolonged period, while John took advantage of her for fear of the consequences. As an inmate, Mary was expected to obey the prison warder. In the second stage of thought, that is individualism and exchange, Mary may have put up with John’s abuse hoping that he will either put in a good word for her, which may facilitate state pardon or favor her in some way hoping her life would be bearable in prison.

Stage three of moral thought is good interpersonal relationship. this is where one lives to the expectations of the family and community. Ronald who was in charge of the warders, on hearing the news that an inmate, had assaulted one of the warders even without trying to find out why, he opted to raid the prison cells in search of weapons in order to fulfill the expectations of the community. His action showed true concern for the prison warders who were at risk of being attacked by the inmates. Stage four of moral development, deals more with the social order (Crain, 1985). This has to do with the societal perspective or societal expectations. This is revealed when Ronald became brutal with the inmates in order to protect his image and that of the other prison warders. as he was expected to do by the society.

The fifth stage of moral reasoning is about social contracts and individual rights. This reasoning is where
