My suggestion is when you are answering the questions put down the number of the questions so I know which answer goes to which question.

1. (a) Why is identification of the real problem the first and most important step in the decision-making process? (b) How does attribution theory explain mistakes that can be made as managers and employees work together to explain why the problem occurred?

2. How can organizations effectively manage both risk taking and escalation of commitment in the decision-making behavior of employees?

3. How can organizations encourage creative decision making?

This are different questions:

1.  A. Describe the bounded rationality model of making decisions.B. How useful are such models of making decisions in today’s organizations? (Why are such models used today? Are they useful? Are they relevant?)

2.  A. List Carl Jung’s four cognitive styles. (Chapter 3 reviews Carl Jung and the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator Instrument.)B. Describe each of these four cognitive styles.

3.  How does the Z problem-solving model capitalize on the strengths of the four preferences?

4.  A. What are the individual influences on creativity?B. What are the organizational influences on creativity?

5.  A. What are the organizational foundations of empowerment and teamwork?B. What are the individual foundations of empowerment and teamwork?

6.   A. Describe the advantages of group decision making.B. Describe the disadvantages of group decision making.

7.  A. Describe the symptoms of groupthink.B. Identify actions that can be taken to prevent groupthink.

8.  What techniques can be used to improve group decision making?

Also different questions:

a. What are the elements of the decision-making process?

b. Identify and discuss the three reasons why managers may hang on to a losing course of action or escalate their commitment. (Why do managers react in this way?)

c. Your text discusses the difficult decisions frequently confronting the Blue Man Group. Many of these decisions would be classified as programmable and non programmable. However, the feature states the group has consistently made effective decisions as reflected by its continuous success, probably due to the members staying true to a vision and making sound business decisions in line with that vision. In your opinion, what is it within each member of the Blue Man Group that allows such focused dedication? In other words, identify the special “something” (or “somethings”) that must be at the core of each member of the group.

My Question However Much The Evidence Of The Phenomenon Is Real And Its Effects

My question

However much the evidence of the phenomenon is real and its effects dangerous to the human population especially those living in the coastal regions, there has remained a question as to how social activities are connected to the increase in the earth’s temperature. Does it mean that if it were not for the industrial revolution and the massive use of carbon elements as a source of energy, there wouldn’t have been any global warming?

SCI 100 Project 3 Guidelines and Rubric

Overview

There are three projects for this course. In Project 1, you began your exploration of a natural science topic by selecting a news story and completing a topic exploration graphic organizer. In Project 2, you continued your analysis of the news story and the natural science topic and ultimately developed a question that, as a natural scientist, you would like to study. In Project 3, you will develop a presentation that discusses why your question is important and the value of studying the natural sciences.

Project 3 will assess the following course outcomes, which you will focus on throughout Themes 3 and 4:

● Investigate major developments in the natural sciences for informing critical questions that drive scientific inquiry

● Articulate the value of the natural sciences for their impact on contemporary issues Prompt

Using the question that you posed in Project 2, explain why the answer is important for understanding yourself, other people, and the world around you. In addition, you will discuss how the natural sciences have developed to help us answer these important questions. Your presentation should include speaker notes so that your instructor knows what you would be saying if you were actually giving the presentation. The critical elements of this project will be evaluated by the information in your presentation. Be sure your actual question is apparent in the presentation.

Specifically, the following critical elements must be addressed:

I. Why is the question you identified important to you as a member of society?

II. Explain how finding the answer to your question might impact others around you. For example, who might be most interested in the answer to your question?

III. Explain why studying the natural sciences is valuable. In other words, what is the benefit of studying topics in the natural sciences?

IV. Describe the major developments in the natural sciences related to your topic. Use course resources to back up your discussion.

  V. Detail the major developments in scientific thinking that support the study and advancement of the natural sciences as necessary and valuable. Use course resources to back up your discussion.

VI. How do these developments in the natural sciences and scientific thinking inform questions about the topic in your news story? In other words, what is the relationship between major developments in the natural sciences and the questions that natural scientists are interested in?

VII. Discuss the obligation that you have as a citizen of your society to understand the science behind issues that impact you every day. For instance, how can being a more scientifically informed member of society benefit you and your community?

Review this document to help you create your presentation.

Supporting Work and Resources

Throughout Themes 3 and 4, there are several opportunities to work directly on different elements of this project:

1. In Learning Block 5-1, you will consider the benefits and value of studying the natural sciences.

2. In Learning Block 5-3, you will identify the major developments in the natural sciences that are related to your topic.

3. In Learning Block 6-2, you will think about how developments in scientific thinking impact the way science is carried out.

4. In Learning Block 6-3, you will reflect upon how developments in the sciences influence the types of questions that researchers ask.

5. In Learning Block 7-1, you will question the importance of your selected topic and research question to you and the world around you.

6. In Learning Block 7-2, you will consider the benefits of understanding the science behind issues that you see in the news, and you will consider how it

might impact those around you. You will also practice creating a presentation that addresses these issues.

7. In Learning Block 7-3, you will consider the ethical concerns of your selected topic.

8. In Learning Block 8-2, you will again consider the importance of being an informed citizen, and you will reflect on the value of understanding and

studying the natural sciences.

 Project 3 Rubric

Guidelines for Submission: Your presentation should use Prezi, PowerPoint, or a comparable presentation tool and include speaker notes. Ensure that your presentation includes the question you posed at the end of your question development worksheet. Note: If using Prezi, be sure to include a Word document with notes. If using PowerPoint, be sure to include speaker notes.

My Future Profession Would Be In Physical Therapymla Formatmany Are Confused As

My future profession would be in Physical Therapy

MLA Format

Many are confused as to why they are required to take classes in the humanities since it does not have clear or obvious baring on their chosen academic major. For this option you are invited to author a 1,200 to 1,400-word examining the relationship between the humanities and the profession you plan to pursue (or are now at work in). Draw on, implement and/or critically evaluate course materials to address the question, “How can the humanities help me in my (future) profession”? Students are encouraged to do original research beyond assigned course materials to meaningfully explore and offer an original assessment of how the humanities relates, in ways that are clear or perhaps harder to appreciate, to their (future) career in fields including but not limited to healthcare, practicing law, performing arts, media design, law enforcement, childcare, education, mechanics, entrepreneurial endeavors, and other fields.

Must Have References As Well As Intext Citations According To Kramer Guillory A

***MUST HAVE REFERENCES AS WELL AS INTEXT CITATIONS***

According to Kramer, Guillory, and Hancock (2014), they were able to demonstrate that emotional states can be transferred to others through emotional contagion, leading people to experience the same emotions without their awareness. They claim that they provided experimental evidence that emotional contagion occurs without direct interaction between people (exposure to a friend expressing an emotion is sufficient), and in the complete absence of nonverbal cues. The authors emphasize the significance of their study based on the fact that data from 689,003 subjects was analyzed.

This study has not been without controversy. Most of the controversy surrounds the issue of informed consent. Nicholas Christakis, a sociologist at Yale University who has done studies using Facebook data, saw nothing wrong with the study (Albergotti & Dwoskin, 2014). He stated that “Marketing as a whole is designed to manipulate emotions. Businesses around the U.S. are doing A/B trials every day involving all of us” (Albergotti & Dwoskin, 2014). Clearly, the author, researchers, and ethicists had different views.

For this task, complete the following:

1. Summarize in your own words, the methodology of the Kramer et al. (2014) study, including how the researchers obtained consent.

2. Then, summarize the arguments of those who believe that informed consent guidelines were followed and those who don’t.

3. Finally, reflect upon the study and discuss your own opinion related to whether the Kramer study followed the expected informed consent guidelines.

Support your assignment with reference to three research articles published in peer-reviewed journals within the past 5 years. In addition to these specified resources, other appropriate scholarly resources, including older articles, may be included.

Remember to use the academic integrity checklist as you prepare your assignment. You also will include your checklist as an Appendix to this assignment.

**TERM PAPER INSTRUCTIONS**

In an 5-8 page paper, you are going to analyze the changing media representation of the family. Specifically, you must choose 2 sitcoms from 2 different decades that represent the family.

The two sitcoms are: (1) The Jeffersons (1970s) and (2) The Cosby Show (1980s)

In your paper you must address the following questions (in essay format, not question/answer).

  • What is the structure of the family/families portrayed in your sitcoms (some sitcoms may focus on a single family, others multiple families)?  If there are multiple families, is the structure similar in all, or very diverse?
  • How are the family structures different in the two decades?  Explain why they are different by tying your analysis to the text’s discussion of how the definition of family has changed  over time.  Discuss some of the recent trends in families including single parents, gay/lesbian families, grandparents as parents, etc.
  • Do the families represented in your chosen sitcoms perpetuate any of the myths about the family?  Which ones?  Again, tie this discussion to the course text and readings.
  • What are the racial/ethnic based strengths and stresses that are portrayed in your sitcoms?  Have they changed over time?  Give specific examples.
  • How are gender roles and gender role socialization portrayed in your sitcoms?  Do the roles of men and women change over time?  Give specific examples.
  • What are the romantic relationships included in your families, and how are they represented?  Do these kinds of relationships change over time?  Why?
  • Is parenting represented in your sitcoms?  How?  What roles do fathers and mothers play?  Are both mothers and fathers present?  What specific parenting styles are used?
  • How is the balance between home and work life represented?
  • Are any of the negative aspects of family life represented?  Is there abuse?  Divorce?

You are required to provide acceptable academic references for any facts, figures, data, or any other assertion you make in your paper.  You are also required to demonstrate what you have learned all semester by supporting your claims using information from the course textbook.  In your analysis you must include at least 5 concepts/terms discussed in class. Please clearly identify those concepts by making them bold or underlined.  Please cite all references used.

The Changing Media Representation of the Family Term Paper requirements:

  • Five to eight typed pages, 1.5 spaced.  The margins must be one inch.  The font size 12 depending on the type of font style selected.
  •  Title page (title/topic, name, College of Southern Maryland, Sociology 2110, Instructor: Prof. Lynk and date)
  •  The title of the term paper must be on the cover page.  This page does not count toward page number requirements.
  •  You must have at least 5 references.  One of those references must be the text, the second an empirical sociological research study, and the remaining your choice, however the references should be a legitimate source.
  •  Bibliography is required and does not count toward page length.  All sources used in the paper must be listed in bibliography.
  •  You are required but not limited to use eight sources.  You cannot use Wikipedia, Ask Me or any blogs as sources.
  •  Remember to define terms.  Do not assume the reader is well address in your topic.
  •  Number each page of your paper and include your last name (ex. Lynk, 1)
  •  Citation American Psychological Association Manual (APA) style only.
  •  Proofread your paper!
