Managers have always been concerned about how tasks should be performed. Early management experts were interested in the ‘one best way’ to arrange work and jobs. Later, researchers created the now famous Hawthorne Studies to unravel the patterns of human behavior in the workplace. From his work in the 1950s, Herzberg wanted to know the importance of attitudes toward work and the employees’ experiences, both good and bad, that workers reported. The fact that job dissatisfaction and job satisfaction were the results of different aspects of the work environment was an important finding.

What Herzberg discovered changed the way we view job design. The Job Characteristics model built upon Herzberg’s findings in identifying the five core job dimensions, especially autonomy. As managers and organizations continue to search for work designs that will energize and engage employees, Hertzberg’s study of when people felt good and felt bad at work continues as a classic.

Hello, i would like to ask if you could help me with my dissertation, i already created the questions and collected the data and it’s a qualitative research.

the data were collected from a factory in Saudi Arabia which produce tin- can and plastic bottles and caps .

i generated the questions and made 8 interviews, i have them recorded and written. most likely the title would be : How supervisors can motivate or dismotivate first line workers.

i mean by first line workers that low skilled workers. i did 4 interviews for supervisors and 4 for workers.

The most important thing is that we do the research step by step and i need to get an approval from my Professor on every step.

During Residency we touched on COVID19 as an example of the many sources from which data originates. This week’s discussion is different as we consider COVID19 from a research perspective. Review the attached article, a model-based analysis that was recently published in The Lancet (it has good info and is an excellent example of well-presented research-based findings) . Next, think about different ways in which a research project about this virus can be narrowed with a specific focus. Consider ways to narrow this topic based on geography, population, etc.
