Choose ONE poem from pages 7-37 (be sure to include the poem title and page), and complete the first 4 elements of the Poetry Chart below in reaction to the poem you selected in 200 words or more.

Poetry Chart: Poetry is challenging and requires the reader to actively engage to illicit meaning. Here is a chart to help you apply poetry concepts to analyze a poem:

Paraphrase: Put the poem into your own words to better understand it. Read the poem several times out loud before you try to summarize it.

Title: What is revealed in the title? How does it connect to the content of the poem? Is the title referenced again in the poem? Does it connect to the poem’s theme?

Speaker: Who is the speaker? What are the speaker’s concerns? Mood? What are the main traits of the speaker? Is the speaker interacting with anyone else in the poem?

Setting: Is the setting described or made clear? Where does it take place? When? What time of day? What season? Is the historical, political or social context of when the poems take place important? How does the setting shape/impact the story?

Pick one of the following terms for your research: analyzability, core technology, interdependence, joint optimization, lean manufacturing, noncore technology, service technology, small-batch production, smart factories, or technical complexity.

Definition: a brief definition of the key term followed by the APA reference for the term; this does not count in the word requirement.

Summary: Summarize the article in your own words- this should be in the 150-200-word range. Be sure to note the article’s author, note their credentials and why we should put any weight behind his/her opinions, research or findings regarding the key term.

Discussion: Using 300-350 words, write a brief discussion, in your own words of how the article relates to the selected chapter Key Term. A discussion is not rehashing what was already stated in the article, but the opportunity for you to add value by sharing your experiences, thoughts and opinions. This is the most important part of the assignment.

References: All references must be listed at the bottom of the submission–in APA format. (continued) Be sure to use the headers in your submission to ensure that all aspects of the

indibidual oberservation paper

Individual Observation Papers: Each student is required to submit two individual observation papers. You will have four opportunities to submit these papers. An individual observation paper is a 3-4 page paper that uses a course concept to analyze an instance of communication about an environmental issue. (If you want, you can write three papers and I will drop the lowest of the three grades.) Your analysis should include (1) a brief description of the communicative text, event, or action in its original context (e.g., What it is? Who enacted it? Where did you encounter it? When did it happen?); (2) a clear exposition of the concept or concepts that you are using to guide your analysis, making direct quotation from relevant sources in support; (3) your analysis of the communication in terms of how well your selected concept or concepts disclose the communication’s influence (or failure to influence) those who become audience to it or those involved with it (including you if relevant); and (4) your conclusions about what you learned about environmental communication from the analysis. If possible, provide a copy of the communication. Each Individual Observation Paper is worth 15% for a total of 30% of your final grade.

Read through the syllubus to see what can you write. And dont do the same as the three that I provide.

management information system 70

Using the principles and models from your textbook readings and the additional study materials provided by your instructor, analyze either the Zara or Netflix cases in terms of how information systems are used to enable and support organizational strategy. Pay particular attention to how the systems are used to influence competitive forces in pursuit of organizational strategy.

Create a posting analyzing this effort using what we’ve learned about using systems for competitive advantage. Be sure to support your assertions with examples and/or references from the literature.

As a minimum (85%), your posting should include:

What was the strategy or strategies being supported by the system(s)?

How were information systems and technology used to support the strategy? Were the models described by McFarlan employed?

Was the company pursuing an early adopter or fast follower approach?

How were the systems/strategy used to influence competitive forces (which forces were impacted and how, which forces that were not)?

Assess whether or not the organization could have pursued that strategy without the use of information systems.

Was the organization trying to enter a market, or defend it’s position in a market?

ds discussion 14

(Not incluiding cover page and reference)

During Residency we touched on COVID19 as an example of the many sources from which data originates. This week’s discussion is different as we consider COVID19 from a research perspective. (Be sure to check out the resource located in this week’s Content folder and mentioned in the lecture on framing a research a research question.)

Review the attached article, a model-based analysis that was recently published in The Lancet (it has good info and is an excellent example of well-presented research-based findings) . Next, think about different ways in which a research project about this virus can be narrowed with a specific focus. Consider ways to narrow this topic based on geography, population, etc.

——

a. Craft a research question indicative of a narrowed focus on one aspect of the virus.

b. Discuss the value of your focused perspective.

c. Discuss a possible analytics approach to the problem.

Note:

Consider this discussion as a brain-storming activity among data scientists (you and your peers.) The purpose is to practice crafting research questions, discussion perspectives, and learning from the ideas of others.

As always, if you state something that is not common knowledge and/or is not your idea, cite and reference as appropriate.
