week 4 discussion in video presentation

A change agent is a leader who inspires others to make changes in the organization by defining, supporting, and having the courage to do what is best for the particular setting. Being an effective leader who successfully implements change in an organization can be challenging; it requires respecting one another’s ideas and values.

For this discussion, imagine you are selected from a pool of applicants to participate in a distinguished conference on leadership strategies in higher education. At the conference, you will present a visual compilation of your research and findings on the topic you have selected for the Article Review and Analysis Review assignments in this course as they relate to leadership and change agency.

For this imaginary conference (and for this discussion forum), create a video presentation no more than 5 minutes in length that includes the following main elements:

My Topic is Student Retention

  • Describe and assess three leadership and motivational themes relating to your topic.
  • Support and illustrate your thinking on the materials you present by describing your experience relating to ways that leadership and motivational traits are represented in higher education.

Be sure to design the presentation so that it is professional in appearance and therefore appropriate for a presentation at the conference session. Attach the video to your initial post.

summary and descriptive statistics 15

There is often the requirement to evaluate descriptive statistics for data within the organization or for health care information. Every year the National Cancer Institute collects and publishes data based on patient demographics. Understanding differences between the groups based upon the collected data often informs health care professionals towards research, treatment options, or patient education.

Using the data on the “National Cancer Institute Data” Excel spreadsheet, calculate the descriptive statistics indicated below for each of the Race/Ethnicity groups. Refer to your textbook and the Topic Materials, as needed, for assistance in with creating Excel formulas.

Provide the following descriptive statistics:

  1. Measures of Central Tendency: Mean, Median, and Mode
  2. Measures of Variation: Variance, Standard Deviation, and Range (a formula is not needed for Range).
  3. Once the data is calculated, provide a 150-250 word analysis of the descriptive statistics on the spreadsheet. This should include differences and health outcomes between groups.

political geography 4

Module Discussion: Political Geography

Look at the text’s definition of terrorism. Modify it or create your own definition. Respond to the following question: Should we draw a distinction between “terrorism” and “war” as separate concepts? Explain your reasoning by writing 150 words and responding to at least one other student.

student KS:

As defined in our chapter notes, terrorism is “the systematic use of violence by a group in order to intimidate a populace or coerce a government into granting demands” (p. 150). Based on this definition, I do believe that terrorism and war are two separate concepts. War is a conflict between two different groups. On the other hand, terrorism is violence used by only one group to intimidate others. This is a major difference between the two. To explain, war is something that both parties engage in. On the other hand, terrorism is when one acts upon another. The difference here is that although people may not like war, both parties are participating because there is some type of conflict. This is not the case with terrorism, as an act of terror is usually unwarranted because the terrorists want to attack. Additionally, war may be started due to an act of terrorism and a nation or state feeling the need to respond. However, terrorism usually is not a response to an ongoing war.

constructivist classroom scenario essay

The main activity in a constructivist classroom is hands-on problem-solving. Students use inquiry methods to ask questions, investigate a topic, and use a variety of resources to find solutions and answers. As students explore the topic, they draw conclusions, and, as exploration continues, they revisit those conclusions. Exploration of questions leads to more questions.

Read the following classroom scenario:

Students complete a diagram of the Solar System by cutting out the provided photos of each planet and pasting them onto a large sheet of paper. Students label each planet with the correct name and write one fact about each planet. The learning target for the lesson is for the students to understand that the solar system consists of the sun and the nine planets that orbit around it.

With the information given in the scenario, write a 500-750 word essay describing how this activity can be revised to incorporate constructivism, inquiry-based problem solving, adjustments for differentiation, and the assessment you would use to ensure the target of the assignment was met. Include an explanation of why the constructivist approach is useful for teaching science and health.

Support your ideas with two to three scholarly sources.

Prepare this assignment according to the guidelines found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center. An abstract is not required.
