human sexually help

Part I: Jessica Fields, Risky Lessons

Figure 4-1 of Risky Lessons shows images from a flipchart on the use of contraceptive devices created by non-profit ETR Associates. Out of concerns that this flipchart might offend parents, Mrs. Wilkie hid this flipchart in a closet at Dogwood Middle School. However, Fields argues that this material could be immensely valuable for promoting agentic sexual subjectivity in students. In a short essay, explain what Fields means by “sexual subjectivity” that involves agency and explain why she thinks this poster would promote it. In your answer, compare and contrast this flipchart and its messages with sex education classes at the three schools that Fields studies.

Part II: Gender and Hookup Culture

Mainstream acceptance of heterosexual hookup culture, on college campuses in particular, is a relatively new phenomenon that many argue is attributable to increasing gender equality. Yet, many problems remain. Use course materials (e.g., Armstrong et al., Grazian, Lectures) to show that sexual satisfaction in heterosexual hookups certainly exists, but it is relatively rare for men and even more rare for women. How do socialization processes involving gendered sexual scripts, both prior to and during college, contribute to this phenomenon?

For each essay, please write 750-1000 words, double spaced, and include a word count at the beginning of each answer.

EDITING THE PAPER

>>>>

>>>>

Your paper has a good structure and your writing quality is well. It is great. The material that you covered, however, needs to be considerably changed and improved. You discussed several topics that are not related to the topic. For example, you discuss the value of fish as food, medicine, and the cultural matters. It is off the main topic and it takes about one page. Then you talk about factors such as breeding conditions, types of water, and navigation, climate, and coastlines. It takes another page. Then you get to the main topics. In your final draft, you need to delete the unrelated parts and stick to the main discussion. To improve it as a part of your final draft, I suggest you rewrite the paper and structure it based on the following: • Explain the fishing market and its importance in one paragraph • Then explain the market failure: fish is a common resource and over-fishing causes a welfare loss. Discuss the opportunity cost of over-fishing (if you fish too much now, you have less fish in the future) • Show on a graph how market failure leads to a deadweight loss • Discuss what is catch shares (your current paragraph on catch shares discusses something entirely unrelated) • On your graph show how catch shares eliminates the deadweight loss • end this part by telling what you think about the catch shares and its usage for the fishing market.

Then, write a response to the episode. Your response can describe your thoughts about the episode, any ideas you may have about the case, anything from the episode that stood out to you, anything you’re having trouble understanding, etc.

On the week of April 6-9, you will use your Writing Exercise to generate discussion about the episode in an online discussion forum.

Your Writing Exercise should do more than just summarize the episode. What new thoughts, ideas, or questions can you add to our conversation about the episode in class?

Try to support your thoughts and ideas with evidence, instead of making unsupported assumptions.

informative paper 4

For this assignment, you will be deciding on the research topic that you will be using for the informative paper.

You will not be making an argument in this paper; however, you must choose a controversial topic to write about as you will be presenting, without revealing bias, two sides to an argument. For example, a popular topic would be the legalization of marijuana. If you were to choose this topic, you would not be arguing that marijuana should be legalized, nor would you be arguing it should remain illegal; instead, you would present the most compelling arguments for both sides to allow your reader to make up his or her own mind after seeing both sides fairly presented.

  1. Review all of the requirements for the informative paper.
  2. Attach your selected topic to this assignment and submit it. Your topic should be a debatable topic concerning social, political, or cultural relevance. Be sure to consider the following questions as you choose a topic:
    • Will I be able to refrain from interjecting personal thoughts, opinions, and ideas?
    • Will I be able to find at least four credible sources from books, journal articles, academic websites, interviews, etc.?
    • Will my sources be up-to-date?
