Literature Review The Use Of Clinical Systems To Improve Outcomes And Efficiencies 19345883

Nurse informaticists and healthcare leaders formulate clinical system strategies. As these strategies are often based on technology trends, informaticists and others have then benefited from consulting existing research to inform their thinking.

In this Assignment, you will review existing research focused on the application of clinical systems. After reviewing, you will summarize your findings.

To Prepare:

  • Review the Resources and reflect on the impact of clinical systems on outcomes and efficiencies within the context of nursing practice and healthcare delivery.
  • Conduct a search for recent (within the last 5 years) research focused on the application of clinical systems. The research should provide evidence to support the use of one type of clinical system to improve outcomes and/or efficiencies, such as “the use of personal health records or portals to support patients newly diagnosed with diabetes.”
  • Identify and select 5 peer-reviewed articles from your research.

The Assignment: (4-5 pages)

In a 4- to 5-page paper, synthesize the peer-reviewed research you reviewed. Be sure to address the following:

  • Identify the 5 peer-reviewed articles you reviewed, citing each in APA format.

Literature Review State Of Current Industry Knowledge Health Informatics

**Based off the question “What impact does predictive modeling have on creating successful treatment plans for patients with a diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease?”**

Literature review: State of current industry knowledge

  • Previous research: as currently available in peer-reviewed journals, government reports, accreditation agency research, etc.
  • Identify what specifics have been confirmed or denied by these previous studies, as they relate to your topic for this study
  • Assess what in the current industry (last 3-5 years), including laws and regulations, have changed since these previous studies were completed
  • Evaluate what updates or new components could possibly be addressed (unresolved or remaining questions) by your proposed research study

Assignment details:

The purpose of the literature review is to position your proposed research in the context of what is already known in the industry about this topic. This review does not need to be exhaustive, however it must be recent (within the last 3-5 years), so you can illustrate how this proposed study will benefit the whole; the facility, the sub-sector of the industry, and the health care system overall. It should provide the theoretical basis for your work, show what has been done in the area by others, and set the stage for your work.

In this literature review, you should give the reader a sufficient number of connections to existing, legitimate literature so that the reader can have confidence that you have found, read, and assimilated the current literature in the field. It is recommended that you include a paragraph that summarizes each article’s contribution to this topic area, along with your interpretation of the relevance to your study.

Unresolved or remaining questions: This is where you present the missing or outdated points in the knowledge that need to be plugged, and by doing so, establish the benefits of your proposed study’s results. This is the section of this proposal where you can establish that this study fits in and can potentially provide significance to the industry.

NOTE: Legitimate literature must be determined to be a valid credible source, including but not limited to websites from the US federal government [,gov], higher educational institutions [.edu], certain industry related non-profit organizations [.org]. Be cautious about using commercial websites [.com] and do not accept information without establishing the credibility of the author(s). Healthcare websites from systems and facilities in another country should be used very cautiously because they do not have the same health care systems nor the same laws and regulations governing these services. For example: .ca = Canada; .uk = United Kingdom, .au = Australia.

Submit your original work on a Microsoft Word document. Estimated length: three-to-five pages plus References page, as per APA formatting. A minimum of three (3) legitimate sources cited.

Literature Review On Health Issue Related To Autism

I want the article over Autism!! (the paper should answer a health question about Autism…address an issue) Please site articles & the page requirements are in instructions

PROJECT 2: GUIDELINES FOR RESEARCH PROPOSAL PROJECT Objective: to develop two chapters of a research proposal: 1) a literature review covering the topic, research questions, and a rationale statement, including a detailed literature review of your health question using scientific evidence, 2) a methods section. General guidelines: each student will choose a health topic with which to develop a literature review and will state that topic as a research question. This proposal is divided into two sections: Chapter 1: Literature Review, and Chapter 2: Methods. Each section has a separate due date. Both chapters will also have a peer-review. Each student is assigned to a group in the peer-review drop boxes. You will submit your chapter for a peer review on designated due date. You will then critique your other group members chapter and turn in to this same drop box by the designated due date. Finally, you will make all changes and submit your final project to a separate drop box as designated in the syllabus by specified due date. You will develop a research question(s) and search the peer-reviewed literature to help develop a research proposal from that information. You should have between 10 and 15 peer-reviewed articles to use in the paper. If you find less than 10, choose another question – if you find more than 15, that is fine. Chapter 1 is a comprehensive discussion of the literature found on your topic area. You will start with a brief introduction of the topic, research question, and a statement of the research objectives. Then you will provide a rationale using a detailed literature review. It should provide a unique and valuable reference resource for other scholars in your field. This section will be relatively short for a literature review(10 pages) and focused on the scientific studies of the question reported in the peer- reviewed literature. Articles from the popular media can only be used as background, i.e., to establish the interest in the question. This chapter should be a thorough review of the literature. This should include a good transition between the broad topic to narrower topics. This section should include comparison and contrast between articles that are conflicting. In some cases, you will have found no conflicting literature – that is fine, but be sure to state so in that section. At the end of this chapter you should have a summarization of why your research question is important enough to study – how is it unique? Tips: Your literature review will look a lot like the introductions of your journal articles. Find an article that is similar to yours and see how they moved/transitioned from paragraph to paragraph, topic to topic. The hardest thing for new researchers to do is the “flow” and organization of the paper.

Logistic Regression In Nursing Practice

Logistic Regression in Nursing Practice

Logistic regression is used to analyze a wide variety of variables that may surround a singular outcome. For example, logistic regression could be used to identify the likelihood of a patient having a heart attack or stroke based on a variety of factors including age, sex, genetic characteristics, weight, and any preexisting health conditions. The biological systems and issues with which the health care field is concerned represent the kinds of applications for which logistic regression is especially useful.

Logistic regression is used in the health care field for many purposes, including diagnoses, predictions, and forecasting. The three articles in this week’s Learning Resources illustrate the many uses of logistic regression in the health care field. This Discussion allows you to explore the different uses of logistic regression and cultivate a deeper understanding of the application of logistic regression in evidence-based practice.

To prepare:

  • Review      the three articles in this week’s Learning Resources and evaluate their      use of logistic regression. Select one article that interests you to      examine more closely in this Discussion
  • Critically      analyze the article you selected considering the following questions:

  1. What       are the goals and purposes of the research study the article describes?
  2. How       is logistic regression used in the study? What are the results of its       use?
  3. What       other quantitative and statistical methods could be used to address the       research issue discussed in the article?
  4. What       are the strengths and weaknesses of the study?
  5. How       could the weaknesses of the study be remedied?
  6. How       could findings from this study contribute to evidence-based practice, the       nursing profession, or society?

By Thursday 10/12/17, 5 pm, write a minimum of 550 words essay in APA format. Use at least 3 references from the list of required reading below.  Include the level one headings as numbered below.

Post a cohesive response that addresses the following:

1) In the first line of your posting, identify the article you examined, providing its correct APA citation. (See attached PDF file for the article).

2) Post your critical analysis of the article as outlined above (make sure to answer all the points asked above in the “To Prepare” area, bullets [1, 2, 3]).

3) Propose potential remedies to address the weaknesses of each study (bullets 4 and 5 in the “To Prepared” area).

4) Analyze the importance of this study to evidence-based practice, the nursing profession, or society (bullet 6 in the “To Prepared” area).
