complete short statistics quiz due apu

Assignment Instructions

This assignment involves 2 or 3 steps depending on your test score:

Step 1: Take Test 5 in Tests&Quizzes tab

Step 2: Write a brief “review” of the test. Examples might be: “I thought this was a fair test of the material” or “I thought this was much harder than the homework” or “We never covered the material on questions 5 and 6”

Step 3: Scoring

Your test score will not be your score for this assignment. Your score on the test critique will be based on how well your write up is written and how much detail and information you include in your summary. This is a separate score than your test score. Make sure your write up provides plenty of detail in order to get any many points as possible. The Test Critique grade can help improve your overall grade in the course.

If you got 100% on the test, that’s all you need to do.

If you did NOT get 100% on the test, review your test and then write a detailed analysis of your mistakes.

Examples:

#5 – I made sign mistakes. I need to review the rules for working with signed numbers.

#10 – careless mistake – I added wrong

#15 – My answer looks exactly like the correct answer but I didn’t get credit – can you check this?

#20 – I don’t understand how to calculate the residual.

#21 – I have reviewed the homework and I don’t see any problems like this one.

REMEMBER: You can re-take a test if you are disappointed in your score. You get 2 attempts at each test. The system will pull whichever grade is higher into the grade book. But remember you only need to submit one test critique even if you took the test twice. If you took the test twice, then you can pick which test you want to write the critique on.

diversity human rights and social justice 3

Assignment: Multiracial Discrimination

Dalmage (2013) writes, “Parents and teachers should be aware of the unique forms of discrimination faced by multiracial children and the White supremacist system in which discrimination flourishes” (p. 101). As social workers, we should be aware of our own understanding of what it means to be multiracial in society. This awareness includes a review of our own potential biases that might exist. We need to challenge our own personal ideas about how we categorize individuals and those assumptions that follow along with those categories. Rather, we must respect our client’s experience as a multiracial person in the world, beginning with asking him or her how they would define themselves when completing an intake or assessment form. Further, a social worker must be aware of the many forms of racism and prejudice a person with a multiracial background might experience. As Dalmage discusses, judgment comes from many sides with different intentions and expectations. Being aware of the particular forms of racism that a person who is multiracial will experience will give you the ability to do your best to understand their experience and empathize.

By Day 7

Submit a 2- to 3-page paper. Describe the impact of discrimination on individuals of multiracial backgrounds. Describe the impact of biracial/multiracial or multiethnic distinction on our society. Justify your response. How do these distinctions relate to social work practice with individuals, families, groups, and communities? Be sure to use APA formatting and references from the Learning Resources and two additional peer-reviewed resources from the Walden library about the discrimination against biracial and multiracial individuals.

yardstick report

A movement in management among entrepreneurs has resulted from the blending of two trends, co-working and “work-cations.” It’s difficult for entrepreneurs to completely disconnect from their businesses. They often carry all responsibilities for their companies, with either no support or the assistance of a small staff. Some like-minded entrepreneurs have opened businesses where entrepreneurs gather as a group in a vacation destination, such as Portugal and Morocco, to spend weeks or months coworking. Carlos Hernandez of Surf Office, one of the initial “work-cation” firms, stated, “A great benefit of spending two weeks with these guys is you really focus on a short deadline and concentrate on this one project. Mixing surf and socialization creates a better balance in working together and getting things done – not just with the product but the whole philosophy.” The initial goals were to avoid burn-out and to improve work-life balance by blending both. The actual outcomes appear to be better productivity, greater focus, and a more positive state-of-mind. What do you believe are the advantages and disadvantages of this trend? What are some of the companies offering this service? What are the costs and lengths of stay? Where would you choose to go for your co-working “work-cation?”

Your task is to research the subject on line and gather possible data focusing on the business value of work-cations. Write a Yardstick Report: • Begin by describing the problem or need. • Explain possible solutions and alternatives. • Establish criteria for comparing the alternatives; tell how the criteria were selected or developed. • Discuss and evaluate each alternative in terms of the criteria. • Draw conclusions and make recommendations.

editing my essays

I know you also sent me a copy of your Kanopy paper. I will send comments about that one later but for this draft, here are some things to think about.

The topic is education in Egypt, is that right? The first paragraph is very general and does not do much “work” if you will in this paper. Remove it and then start from your second paragraph instead. It is ok to begin directly in something this short.

Here are some things to revise:

  1. The first sentence should explain the topic (education of women? girls? in Cairo or the capital and some other places? it’s unclear) and then show how it is related to culture. This is a paper focused on culture, so how does this relate to the culture of Cairo or the culture of girls there (or something else if you want)?
  2. You do not need to include the US government in this. Instead think about the relationship between education of girls and Cairene culture. How are they related? You have to make a connection first between these two things and then argue for it.
  3. You do not need to include the university names. You can delete this.
  4. Instead look for examples of individual women’s or girls’ stories. How does culture play a role in educational expectations or how does education affect Cairene women’s culture?

This is a good start, but it still needs more drafting. If any of my questions above are unclear, let me know and I can talk to you about them in online office hours.

I am happy to help with another draft if you want and I am sorry that it has been such a long time since I sent you feedback. I know that we discussed your topic several times after class, but I have not been able to catch up with my emails until now (and I still owe quite a few to others).
