Write an essay that compares and contrasts the ethical dilemmas that an emergency medicine physician may face versus the ethical dilemmas that another healthcare provider of your choice may experience. Examples of other healthcare providers include, but are not limited to, nurses, social workers, primary care physicians, or physician specialists. I have take a side in an ethical dilemma I have/or might experience working in the nursing field.

If a nonverbal 98 year old cancer patient on a feeding tube is a full code because he is his daughter’s only family, I think the ethics committee should be involved. If he codes, I do not think it is fair to torture his body with CPR if treatments are futile.

Ethical Dimensions of Meaningful Use and Chapter Work Products

Summarize  the important points you took away from that article in a well-written  narrative (250-300 words) and submit to your instructor for evaluation.

2.  Please produce and save the patient logs for the three patients you  created in Chapter 3 (see pages 39-41 for detailed instructions).

3.  Please produce and save work you created in Chapter 5 (see pages 65-66  for detailed instructions). Make sure you complete the Self-Assessment  to make very certain your work is error-free before submitting. Your  instructor will also be able to view your work online.

You are the HMO Vice President of Operations for NuCare HMO. The HMO President tells you that the board is considering discontinuing Medicare affiliation. The board wants to know how this will impact their membership in rural areas where there is no other HMO that is affiliated with Medicare.

The president directs you to create a five- to six-slide PowerPoint presentation to present to the Board of Directors.  The presentation should briefly outline what the likely outcome would be for rural membership if the HMO stops attending to Medicare patients. Include the following considerations in your presentation:

• The difficulty members may face in finding new care options
• The concerns that may need to be addressed for members seeking new care options
• Whether members will be able to acquire Medicare gap insurance
• Make a final recommendation as to whether NuCare should discontinue its Medicare affliation.

The attached article discusses what happens to patients when their HMO decides to discontinue serving Medicare patients. The article contrasts the different experiences among people who live in areas where there is a choice of another Medicare HMO against the experiences among people who live in areas where there is not another HMO.
