Signature Assignment Title: Theory Overview

This week, you will develop a PowerPoint presentation reviewing the theories from each module. Please select one theory from each module (1-8) and answer the following questions. You should have two slides per theory:

• Describe the theory
• Provide 3 examples of how the theory applies to current practice
• Provide 3 positive patient outcomes resulting from utilizing the theory
• Explain 3 benefits to nursing satisfaction when utilizing the theory
• Describe two barriers to using the theory in practice and at least one method for overcoming each barrier (support methods with sources)
• Support from literature clearly noted throughout

The PowerPoint presentation should include at least two outside references and the textbook. The presentation should contain 2 to 4 slides per theory, for a total of 16 to 32 slides.

Change is a constant presence in the healthcare arena therefore effective leaders must be capable of conveying their ideas in a clear and concise manner for sustainable  transformation. The student will develop and introduce innovative strategies to propel the organization or department to a higher level (must be an actual idea). This essay must be impressive enough to inspire others to become champions of this cause. The essay must be 3-4 pages in length excluding appendix, title and reference page. The student may choose a topic of professional relevance and something that can be translated into practice as a healthcare leader. The student will address the impetus for change, leadership traits needed to implement these new ideas and any other related theories that can be applied to describe or support these ideas. Conceptual framework models can be placed in the appendix. The student must submit the following for references: minimum of 5 journal articles less than 5 years since publication. Wikipedia or dictionary websites are not acceptable references. This assignment requires appropriate spelling, grammar, use of the current APA format and APA style of writing.

5. The singularity and power of your story will be in the concrete details. This is about you and only you, not some general you. We should understand that the details apply to your story specifically. Therefore, avoid generalizations and focus on concrete and sensory details.
    
6. Don’t be afraid to make the reader laugh or cry. Be funny. Be sad. Whatever emotions you evoke, engage us and create a connection.
    
7. As always in this class: consider this to be public writing that you will share with the class. If you don’t wish to share your story, then write about something else.
