I used the Chi Square Formula, and my answer to the problem i was solving is 0.75. My question is where do I look on the Degrees of freedom table to see if I can accept my null hypothesis. and how do I determine how many outcomes I have? The problem I was solving was related to allele frequency and the hardy-Weinberg equation. I had three alleles BB, Bb, and bb. So is my outcome 2 (3-1)?
