Create a 500-750 word action plan that addresses the following:
- Identify which management tactics and strategies you will implement to meet your strategic goals for each of the stakeholders, departments, or business functions impacted by your plan: MBO, MBM, single-use or standing plans, competitive advantage, contingency planning, building scenarios, crisis planning, and innovation.
- Provide an explanation of how you will apply managerial decision-making methods throughout your action plan.
- Which business functions will be impacted by your action plan? What tactics will you use to manage implementation across business functions? What can you do to enhance collaboration/cross-functionality to ensure the success of your plan?
- Identify leadership strategies you plan to implement throughout the execution of your action plan. In particular, explain which strategies you would implement to foster team collaboration among the multiple stakeholders who must collaborate to successfully implement the plan. PART 1
The different culture of people leads to a change of team performance as some of the members in most of those teams are composed of different cultural background where each of them has to base his/her work as per the history of culture. Again, some of this participants differ in their traits as they may not share the same language and value difference hence fluctuate in their communication (Earley & Mosakowski, 2010). Another idea on which they differ is on their performance on issues of behavior, values and beliefs as some of the members might take duration before emulating some of the merits which may overwhelm their good performance outcome. Critically, conflicts that may arise based on opinions may diminish this team performance and decrease personal and direct process of interaction as each member has its cohesion which gives some of this indifference.
There are several ways that a person can choose to focus during incorporation of a person who has a different culture in your team. Some of this ways may base on good capture to the essence of that person which is one of integrity that many communities focus as there is a communication barrier. In the same manner, one may feature on core values of that person which are on its beliefs and baseline of behavior and which explicitly define clear how the person behaves after being incorporated into the team. Also focus on customer interaction feedback and response as this issues might embody some of the decline changes which may undermine the manageability of credibility (Niebuhr, 2016). Ideally, if culture and values may not align then this issue can create business performance decline and suffer. It would be of importance to consider the beliefs that our new member in the team follows to make him/her align with the performance of the team.
PART 2
Your comment on the difficulties of communication among a diverse group is a very real issue. The differences in languages, accents and dialects can cause communication difficulties. Often a person from another culture may have communication apprehension. Communication apprehension, is defined as “an individual’s level of fear or anxiety associated with either real or anticipated communication with another person or persons” (McCroskey, 1977, p. 78). The leader’s responsibility in this situation would be to identify ways to help the person feel more comfortable and assisting assimilation into the group. According to Asherman & Bing (2010) ways to assist is to allow individuals who do not speak English as a first language more time to respond to the discussion. Due to communication apprehension, the leader can take written ideas after the meeting to avoid the need for the individual to talk to a group. Also teaching the team to speak distinctly and avoid the use of jargon is helpful. Paraphrasing and summarizing more in meetings will help to identify and clarify any miscommunications. While working with nurses from so many diverse cultures have you seen evidence of communication apprehension? If so, how did nursing leaders respond to communication apprehension?

Nursing informatics improves patient centered care, promote health and communication. “Nursing informatics is a field of nursing that incorporates nursing, computer, and information sciences to maintain and develop medical data and systems to support the practice of nursing, and to improve patient care outcomes” (Registerednursing.org, 2018).
What technology does your facility use?
My facility uses Cerner medical software “Cerner’s powerful, intelligent Electronic Medical Record (EMR) delivers the most comprehensive set of capabilities in the industry” (Cerner.com, 2018). Cerner is user friendly, allows us to scan patients armband prior to scanning medications, reducing medication administration errors. It also has built –in alerts for sepsis, fall risk, wound care and protocols in place for chest-pain, hypo/hyperglycemia, electrolyte imbalance etc.
How has it improved patient care or outcomes?
This technology allows easy access to vital signs, medical records, laboratory results, imaging, medication list, allergies, and progress notes. By integrating this information health care providers can improve patient care outcomes by reducing medical errors. The system is accessible to physicians from the privacy of their homes; which helps optimize patient safety and improve quality of care.
What can be done to make it more useful or to further improve patient care or outcomes?
To further improve patient care it would be helpful if Cerner had the capability to roll over information from previous admissions. Medical history, medication list, allergy, PCP, pharmacy etc, not having to input this information on re-admissions would save time and allow nurses more time for patient care .

The type of technology used at my facility and positive outcomes?
The facility that I work at uses MediTech as their main software. Compared to other hospitals our system is a little bit out dated. This because the software is based on a dos system that was created in 1970s or 80s. The program was recently upgraded this year, with the goal to help streamline charting. Since the update, I have noticed that it has been helpful in cutting down the time it takes to chart. But, I still find the program very cumbersome. This is because, every menu has a drop-down box that is very long. Unless you have memorized the codes, it can be very tedious to have to go through long lists to document drains and ports. But there are benefits to the new system. A major benefit to the new MediTech system, is that there is less redundancy in charting. If you have the same patient for several nights, then you do not have to keep documenting the same thing every night. For example, if my patient has not had a change in IV or skin condition, I do not have to go back and document it again. Another benefit to the new system, is that charting is done according to exception. These new features help with time management and gives me more time to provide direct-patient care.
What can be done to make it more useful or to further improve patient care or outcomes?
A major issue in nursing is charting. Despite efforts, in creating a better MediTech
system, there are still complaints. Since I am new to nursing and not aware of other EMR software, my information is based from my more experienced colleagues. Those who used to chart the “old fashioned” way, which was paper charting miss it. This is because, they think it was more accurate and reliable to chart. However, those who are used to computers prefer EMR. The say that it is faster, and you do not have to struggle with deciphering doctor’s messy handwriting. According to the information from a study that was completed in Japan by Kaneko et al. (2018), there has been a positive impact on patient care since Japan started using EMR in 2000. It was reported that there have been enhanced patient services, increased safety for medical treatments, and less burden on medical health professionals to create their own care plans.
Based on the research from Kaneko and lecture on informatics. I think EMR is very helpful in providing patient care. Especially when it comes to reducing medical errors. Where I work, there is a link on the MediTech screen that shows compatibility of drugs when hung via IV. Instead of having to call pharmacy for assistance with medications, I can quickly determine which antibiotics are compatible with each other. Another aspect that is helpful in providing care via EMR is the ability to quickly look up information on patients. I can easily answer questions about patient diagnosis and read through labs quickly and efficiently. It is also helpful to be able to isolate specific items like blood pressures to determine trends.

Nursing Managing Human Resources Paper 19109443
/in Uncategorized /by developerReflect upon the key ideas: the challenges and implications of managing a multi-generational workforce, common generational differences, interventions for increasing generational motivation, and strategies for retaining the older nurse.
Reflect on your current organization or one with which you are familiar and determine the demographic breakdown of employees based on age. Then, consider how this specific work environment might present difficulties for older workers and think about factors that might cause these employees to leave your setting.
Use your own scholarly research, to identify strategies that could engage and retain this population of nurses.
To complete
Submit a 3- to 5-page paper in which you do the following:
Identify the demographic breakdown of employees in the organization. If you are unable to access exact demographical data, provide your best estimate for each of the following age ranges: 20–30, 30–40, 40–50, 50–60, and 60–70, and 70+.
Describe at least two ways the work environment is conducive to older workers and at least two difficulties it might present. Support your response by citing authentic examples from the workplace and this week’s Learning Resources as applicable.
Propose at least four specific strategies you could implement to engage and retain older workers.
