This identifies a protocol, which includes keeping the bed rails up and requires thirty -minute rounding to make certain that the patients are not getting out of bed without assistance. A registered nurse (RN), recently employed from China, has a language barrier, even though she has passed her state 

boards. She is not familiar with e-mail as a communication method in her past work environment in China.The RN from China, Meelynn, does not read the e-mail directive and her patient is not given the proper protocol procedures. The patient falls from the bed and now has been transferred to the intensive care unit (ICU). The manager is now meeting with her to understand how this occurred 

and to educate Meelynn about effective communication methods used in the organization. You heard Meelynn say to other workers, “I don’t think this is my fault.  We get ten e-mails each day, text messages from management, and we are expected to read all of it and care for patients. I don’t have time to read all the messages the manager sends to me. Some of the messages I don’t even understand what she means and I cannot go and take time to find her.”

Global Warming: A Major Concern

Hospital emergency departments treat an  average of fifty five people for injuries every minute. The worst after  effect of the sudden population explosion across the globe is the rise  in violence.

• How have violent injuries affected a community? What steps have communities taken to decrease overall violent crimes?
• What steps can the  federal or state governments take to help support communities affected  from random or consistent violent acts?
• What can parents do in  their homes to help educate children about risks and preventative  accidents to help keep them safe? What role should parents take to  reduce family violence?
• How can health promotion and wellness programs play a significant role to reduce individual or gang violence?
• How can schools and  work environments increase safety measures against violent individuals  or gangs entering their establishments?
• What roles should parents, neighbors, friends,  health care personnel, and the community take when they observe someone  who may exhibit unusual behavior or comments to help prevent potential  violence? Evidence based practice are the base standards in which we base all our nursing practices on. They are methods, experiments, hypothesis that have been tried and true, and proven to be the most effective in standard nursing care. In nursing, critical thinking has been defined as the ability to use in professional actions the highest cognitive abilities, such as to analyze, to question, to evaluate, to conceptualize, comprehending individual and collective health problems in a more precise, logical and appropriate way. These skills directly implicate the achievement of adequate outcomes through effective clinical judgment and clinical decision-making (Costa et. al, 2019). This is important to healthcare and nursing in general because, daily we are made to think about and make decisions regarding healthcare and being responsible for other people’s lives. In doing so, we can’t just make decisions. We need to sit down and critically think about all that we are doing and how our decisions could be affecting the patients’ outcome. When we use evidence-based practice as well, we’re taking something that has been tried and proven to be effective to better take care of our patients. Using evidence-based practice and critical thinking in taking care of our patients sets the standards for what they are needing, and what we should all be trying to exceed in doing.

Evidence-based Practice is defined as “an integration of the evidence available, nursing expertise, and the values and preferences of the individuals, families and communities who are served.” Other Organizations defines EBP as “a continuous interactive process involving the precise, careful, thorough and judicious consideration of the best available evidence to provide care. “ Evidence-based practice supports nursing care and can contribute positively to patients and family outcomes. EBP Supports nursing care that can be “individualized to patient and their families, is more effective, streamlined, dynamic and maximizes effects of clinical judgement. All in all, these definitions are quite evident in that the focus is primarily on the best ways to find and apply research evidence. Hence, the need for EBP will always remain a constant driving force in nursing and healthcare as a whole.
