This paper demonstrates the importance of coffee production in the economy of Brazil. There is two figures in the essay which graphically illustrates the production of coffee over the recent years.
Brazil is not only the largest producer of coffee and produces an estimated one third of world’s total coffee produce, and is also the world’s second largest consumer of coffee behind USA.
Coffee is a key ingredient of the economy of the country on three main counts – a key economic activity contributing to the GDP, a major export item, and an important industry for employment.
Agriculture accounts for 36% of Brazil’s exports, with coffee being the biggest exported agricultural item at $4.7 billion, by value. Coffee contributes to 0.27% of the total economy in Brazil and 2.1% of total exports.
Brazil has 2.1 million hectares of land under coffee cultivation (ICO) with an estimated 350,000 producers spread through 14 states, and 160 firms exporting coffee. The production and processing of coffee is highly labor intensive industry and the coffee industry provides direct and indirect employment to nearly 8.5 million people in Brazil. This translates to almost 5% of the total population working in the coffee industry in Brazil.
Historically, coffee has been an important component of the economy in Brazil. Brazil was the largest producer of coffee in the world and it accounted for 75% of Brazil’s total exports. Although this weight has reduced significantly over time, the contribution of coffee to the economy is still significant.
In the 1990s, coffee was a key pillar of the economy in Brazil by supporting it in four ways – contribution to the economic activity, contribution to exports thereby increasing the foreign reserves, contribution to employment, and a key area of foreign investment. The coffee market was under government control until the 1990s, when the government decided to convert it to free market. This led to a lot of foreign investment in the sector and therefore helped the economy build its foreign reserves. The production and export trend of coffee is shown in Figure 1 below. It is evident that the coffee production overall has been increasing over the years. Also, the exports of coffee have been increasing constantly in accordance with the production. The peak production reached was in 2002 when it reached 2.65 million metric tons (MMT). However, although the coffee exports have been generally increasing, the weight of coffee in exports (by value) has been generally decreasing over the years, and over the last few years has stabilized at 2.1%. This is evident in Figure 2 where it is seen that the weight of coffee in exports has continuously reduced from a peak of 5.2% in 1997 to 1.8% in 2004 where after it has almost stabilized to 2.1%. Coffee is clearly a key part of the Brazilian economy – it forms a large part of the agricultural produce of the country and is a major export item for Brazil. It provides employment to nearly 5% of the Brazilian population and has historically been an important driver for foreign investments. Over the years, its relative weight in exports has been decreasing indicating that the dependence of the Brazilian economy on coffee is decreasing slowly.

drew Haslam (2005), in their book Type and Typography, referred to the term as that concerned with the creation of typefaces and their arrangement to convey a message. (introduction)
There are various other versions of these definitions but it all boils down to one thing: Typography’s existence occurred sometime in the 15th century and is tied with the invention of the printing press because it was responsible for the mechanical notation and arrangement of language. To borrow the words of Philipp Meggs, Rob Carter and Ben Day (2002): “The development of printing technology so drastically changed the nature of written communication that the term typography was coined to describe the study, use, and design of sets of identical repeated letterforms. According to Meggs, Carter and Day, the invention of typography was, in fact, the beginning of the Industrial Revolution, writing that the earliest mechanization of a handicraft is the hand-lettering of books. (p. 103)
With the above information established, we underscore that typography evolves because of technology and thus, have had slightly differing meanings at different periods of history. In the age of the metal type, for instance, type and typeface were distinguished from each other, while in today’s digital age, they are used interchangeably. This will discussed, further later on. Peter Bil’ak offered us an interesting perspective when he said that typography should not be connected to any specific medium because it tends to change and evolve.
The idea is that we continue to define and redefine the visual systems of visual language. We see this in the great leap we have achieved since the cave paintings to the synthesis of the digital pictographs. Tova Rabinowitz (2006) tells us that the widespread participation in typography’s recent evolution and its vibrant and experimental nature present an optimistic outlook for the continuation of type as a vehicle for expression and a democratizing cultural

Need An Argumentative Essay On The Importance Of Communication Skills To Midwife
/in Uncategorized /by developerNeed an argumentative essay on The importance of communication skills to midwifery practice. Needs to be 10 pages. Please no plagiarism.
Research emphasises the need to see interpersonal communication through interrelationships which develop taking into account the issues of power and diversity, and good communication likewise flourish through and revolve around the emotional dimensions of care work.
Chant et al. (2001) indicated that in general in the care practices, effective communication skills on the part of the practitioner leads to greater satisfaction out of care. basically, patient satisfaction leads to compliance, which in turn minimises complaint rates, emotional and psychological distress (Chant et al. 2001). An effective communication to any patient on the part of the care giver induces many favourable changes in the client that may be conducive to positive health. Rogers et al. (1999) indicated that communicated patients are “better educated and empowered to participate in their own health decisions and as a result will make shared decisions” (p.175). These principles are also applicable in midwifery practice, where the definition of communication is same as elsewhere in the care professions. Communication means exchange of information, ideas, or feelings, which can be complex in the sense that this is a broad term indicating both verbal and nonverbal communications. These become more complex in the healthcare settings due to the very nature of the interactions being complex, charged with emotions, and related to very personal feelings and situations. All these may affect the process of communication, and knowledge, training, and practice on communication skills is thus necessary to effect a clinically effective interpersonal communication, specially between the provider and the recipient.
It has been estimated that communication skills and relationships are important parameters of healthcare services, and the practice of midwifery is not an exception to that. By the term relationships, it is meant interrelationships between the care

This building process is an ongoing, continuous and dynamic process. The progress is a directional step towards increasing autonomy of an individual from dependency. These transformational changes are strongly influenced by genetically determined factors like overall growth, changes in proportion of body and brain parts, and mellowing certain tasks like vision and dietary needs. The specific characteristics occur in a particular sequence and within a specific period. The developmental process can be boosted or nurtured by manipulating various events during early childhood, and physical, social, cultural, learning and emotional areas through environmental stimuli (Ashford et al., 2001). The developmental domains should be gazed and grasped carefully to understand the overall growth of the child. This helps in unfolding abilities of each child. Then, accordingly efforts should be made so that, the child is encouraged to learn and evolve. Bringing together all the development aspects, lead to flowering of a child. Holistic development of the child is the integrated approach of nurturing child’s all round developmental progress. Nature emphasises on the innate or inborn characteristics of human being based on the concept of the biology. Nurture emphasises on the modifying the innate features by various environmental stimuli or exposure.
Human biology is the storehouse of diverse possibilities or the potential personality of the individual which can be become splendid, normal or even abnormal by type of experiences available or made available (Pressley & McCormick, 2006, p.4). Most of the recent developmental psychologists accept the fact of bioecological interpretation of human development. The inseparable disposition and complex interaction of ‘nature’ and ‘nurture’ makes the individual unique person with particular set of abilities. Human intelligence is the most fiercely

Need An Argumentative Essay On The Importance Of Hand Washing Needs To Be 16 Pag
/in Uncategorized /by developerNeed an argumentative essay on The Importance of Hand-washing. Needs to be 16 pages. Please no plagiarism.
The rationale for choosing this clinical practice is because, despite the guidelines and the negative outcomes of poor hygiene available, the practice of handwashing is seldom adhered to. NHS has prioritized reduction of hospital-acquired infection (HAI) and one of the control procedures has been identified as handwashing (Stone, 2001). According to DoH 2004, the first of the core standards is safety which emphasizes that healthcare organizations must have systems in place and ensure that risk is minimized to all concerned. Improving hand hygiene is a critical component of clinical governance (Storr & Clayton-Kent, 2004).
Hand washing has been defined as a vigorous, brief rubbing together of all surfaces of lathered hands, followed by rinsing under a stream of water (Widmer, 2000). Hand washing mechanically removes the microorganisms by rinsing with water. Hand hygiene for safe care is not a new phenomenon but the compliance by health workers and by doctors, in general, is very poor. The guidelines are never adhered to. According to Grol and Gribshaw (2003) doctors have poor knowledge about the outcome of poor hygiene and perhaps they would comply better if they were well informed of the results. If the health workers experience a problem in practice they may be motivated to change. These are the cognitive theories. It is important to reflect on solutions and discuss difficulties. Behavioral theories suggest that external stimuli can assist in change like incentives, modeling, and external reinforcement.

Need An Argumentative Essay On The Importance Of Human Touch Like Hugs In Person
/in Uncategorized /by developerNeed an argumentative essay on The importance of human touch (like hugs) in personal health and how the amount of touch a person receives varies depending on that persons culture. Needs to be 4 pages. Please no plagiarism.
It has been demonstrated that hormonal reactions take place with hormones such as oxytocin being released leading to production of beneficial effects.
One instance of beneficial effects is experienced during emotional support shown by human touch such as by a hug. According to Berkman (1995), lower cardiovascular risk is experienced by emotionally supported patients through hugs. Consequently, the adverse effects of the condition such as related mortalities considerably fall in people experiencing emotional support such as by hugs. Besides human touch, there are other quality practices expressing emotional support that contribute to personal health by producing beneficial effects to the body systems. Such practices include friendly facial expressions, speech and quality of words, hand holding and sitting together.
Health benefits experienced through touch can not leave out enhanced oxytocin activity, a hormone with several roles in the body human systems. According to Insel and Young (2001), oxytocin roles in social recognition as well as partner preference are major sources of connectivity between individuals. Stimulation of oxytocin release by mere touch is useful in the mechanism of its operation especially in emotional touches such a hug. The specific benefit of reduction in blood pressure assists in personal health stability especially in healing conditions.
In an experiment conducted by Amico et al (2005), it was observed that pre-menopausal women who live with emotional support from their husbands are exposed to lower blood pressure due to high oxytocin levels produced on touch. Emotional support is paramount to healthy existence according to the authors.
Keating in her book (1987), lists several beneficial impacts of hugging in relation to personal health which range from easing tension to fighting insomnia. Physical touch among human beings is portrayed as a powerful tool for healing processes, and the author reports that the

Thus, it could be concluded that money is not always a motivator (Herzberg, 2003). In order to explain leadership, Edmondson et al. (2001) illustrated examples of two hospitals namely Chelsea and Mountain Hospitals. The leaders at both hospitals adopted different strategies for the implementation of new technologies. The leader at Chelsea, regardless of being experienced and senior, found the technology to be difficult for the team members. It was because of the poor understanding of the leader and his communication with the team. On the contrary, the leader at Mountain hospital was junior. However, he tried to utilize technologies differently. He became a part of the team and did not become a dictator unlike the one at Chelsea (Edmondson et al., 2001).
Persuasion is defined as a magic by Robert B. Cialdini. Through persuasion, individuals can convince others and ask for favors. It should be noted that persuasion can be done following the six principles of persuasion. Furthermore, individuals can be easily persuaded through social proof. According to the author, researchers in 1988 were able to conduct research on persuasion in two different American cities. The results showed that people could be easily persuaded through social proof, i.e. if they see others (their neighbors, friends or family) doing the same thing then, they are most likely to get convinced.
Strong organizational culture is an important aspect of organizational success. In order to develop a strong organizational culture, strong and effective leadership is required. However, it should be noted that leadership and culture are informally associated with each other. It suggests that if less formal direction provided to employees regarding strategies, then they will put greater efforts and will take the ownership. The liabilities of strong organizational culture are many, however, the notable ones are ethical liabilities, pieces of training, reward system, etc.

/in Uncategorized /by developerNeed an argumentative essay on The Impressive architectural structure of the Parthenon. Needs to be 4 pages. Please no plagiarism.
The building’s architecture was done by Kallicrates and Iktinos and supervised by Phidias. In this regard, the style incorporated in its design is known as the Doric style. Moreover, the building included other characteristics that are ionic in nature such as the Freize (Stevens, 139). Incidentally, the Freize traversed the inner walls on the upper region as well as the Pedimental statues and along the Metopes that constituted the sculpture that decorated the Parthenon. Evidently, the fascination and remarkable nature of the building is credited with its innovative architectural masterpiece.
From both a lay and informed person’s perspective, the architecture of the Parthenon is synonymously impressive. Greek temples were synonymously constructed with three types of columns. These were the Doric, Corinthian and Ionic. The difference among the orders is evident from the proportions. For example, the Ionic columns were slimmer and taller, while the Doric columns were shorter and thicker. The order were however more distinguishable in terms of the tops of the columns. In this regard, the Ionic tops have the curlicues also known as the volutes, the Corinthian tops were synonymous with acanthus leaves while the Doric tops have the most simplistic design. The Parthenon is constituted by the Ionic and Doric orders (Waddell, 18).
Evidently, the amazing view is accentuated by its positioning on the Acropolis, the columns made of marble emitting power and strength as well as its immense scale (Waddell, 20). However, a deeper insight to its architecture reveals intricate skills that are deserving of praise. Evidently, the entire building has been constructed from a subjective point of basis as opposed to and objective one, Moreover, the building was not constructed to be reflective of mathematical accuracy but an adaptation to the spectators eyes. This is in recognition to the numerous optical refinements that are
