Below is a graph indicating the difference in levels of poverty among countries. Fig 1: 2011 unemployment rates of different countries. Needless to say, there are a number of reasons that cause unemployment in the world. First, some individuals lack the required skills and knowledge to tackle tasks, hence hindering their chances of acquiring a job. Secondly, the welfare payments and unemployment insurance are believed to contribute to the increasing levels of unemployment. The unemployed continue benefiting from these governments’ assisted programs, hence becoming reluctant to search for jobs. This paper will discuss the issue of unemployment, its impact to the society in causing poverty, and the possible solutions at length. Major impact of unemployment to society The Increasing levels of unemployment are continuously contributing to the level of poverty among nations, which negatively affects the economy and the society of these nations as well. There are various types of unemployment. Cyclical unemployment is one of them, which is influenced by the business cycle, for example, the higher the growth of domestic product, the lower the levels of unemployment, and vice versa (Hartley, 2010, p.29). Structural unemployment involves launching new products in the market, therefore changing the demand of certain goods. In return, unemployment rate in certain sectors increases, whilst jobs are created in other sectors. According to Kim (2010, p.57), one third of the world’s…

Unemployment as an Economic Problem

Unemployment can be defined as the number of people in a nation without jobs, including those that are seeking for employment (OECD, 2003, p.32). Unemployment is a problem that affects many countries, to an extent of reducing productivity and loss of income opportunity. When the level of unemployment is high, the growth domestic product is lower compared to when the levels of unemployment are low. On the other hand, when the growth of domestic product is low, the levels of unemployment increase, the living standards of individuals are reduced, and the nation’s productivity decreases.

Unemployment also contributes to loss of human capital, as the unemployed individuals do not contribute their skills and knowledge to the workforce. Moreover, unemployment does not only contribute to poverty, but it also reduces the levels of consumption and the ability of purchasing, and as a result, slowing down the potential of the market. Nevertheless, unemployment levels differ among different countries, taking different forms. however, the developing nations are highly affected by the unemployment issue compared to the advanced economies (OECD, 2003, p.32). For instance, the level of unemployment in China is 4.3 % while that of Japan is at 4.5%, nevertheless the unemployment rate of these countries does not remain constant. it keeps changing with time (trading economics, 2011). Below is a graph indicating the difference in levels of poverty among countries.

Needless to say, poverty increases as the level of unemployment increases. this is evident since the unemployed have no source of income, making them to struggle in providing basics needs for their families.

Need An Argumentative Essay On How Much Of Levi Strauss Structuralism Would You

Need an argumentative essay on How much of Levi-Strauss structuralism would you say was left in post-structuralist theory. Needs to be 9 pages. Please no plagiarism.

egan as an attempt by Levi-Strauss in his work The Savage Mind to force Jean-Paul Sarte, the leading French philosopher during that period, into an argument concerning his stance on language which the latter did not reply. It made intellects in the country come to believe that Sarte could not reply and they essentially moved to Levi-Strauss’ position that would develop into structuralism. Therefore, through the influence of Levi-Strauss, structuralism developed in such a manner that it became popular beyond his native France and this movement in turn came to produce post-structuralism which was favoured by such intellects as Derrida.

In order to answer the question concerning whether language was a means of developing meaning, Levi-Strauss made an attempt to study it in its form (Levi-Strauss 1966, p.112). This was done with stress being put on its being studied scientifically and it ensured that not only was language studied in its form, but also in its original meaning. Through the influence of Levi-Strauss, language came to be thought of as a type of science so that it was considered to be a collection of units that by themselves had no meaning unless they were articulated in a developed system. This way, language came to be considered as units whose articulation relied on the differences that had been developed within larger linguistic and social contexts that ensured that they provided meaning to the users. Furthermore, literary works, as one of the primary concerns of structuralists, came to be considered, not according to the meanings that were developed by present readers, but according to those who read them when the works were developed. It is through the influence of structuralists that language came to have a higher meaning, not just as a means of communication, but also as a basic component of developing meaning. The language system was a means through which different units of language, which were essentially arbitrary in nature and did not have any

Need An Argumentative Essay On How Much Of Yogasara S Teachings Close To Origina

Need an argumentative essay on How much of Yogasara’s teachings close to original Buddhist doctrine. Needs to be 4 pages. Please no plagiarism.

For instance, the central focus of many religions is God or gods leading to scholarly question of whether Buddhism is a religion or not. Harris calls Buddhism, “the richest source of contemplative knowledge that any civilization has developed.

Currently, there exist three main branches of Buddhism tradition. The Theravada -Doctrine of the Elders, the Mahayana -Great Vehicle and the Vajrayana -Diamond Vehicle simply known as Tibetan Buddhism, (Olson 56).

Furthermore, many scholars agree that the origin of Buddhism is Northern India in the 5th century B.C.E .By meditation and analysis, Budha resulted to enlightened state of personality that marked the end of suffering and thus, upon his death, release from the cycle of rebirth (samsara). His teachings are mostly summarized in the Four Noble Truths, hence providing a basic guide for how to live in the world.

Buddhas immediate teachings following his awakening focused on the key Noble Truths, which forms the basis of Buddhism. The truths are the truth of suffering (dukkha), the cause of suffering (samudaya), truth of the end of suffering (nirhodha) and the truth of path that frees indivindual from suffering (magga).

The Truth of Suffering -This discourage many people new to Buddhism beginners to Buddhism .However they are encouraged by Pali word&nbsp.dukkha that means anything that is temporary, conditional and compounded of other things either precious or enjoyable will end. They thus relate the nature of life to that of self, That we are also temporary, conditional and made of many parts .According to Buddhism , understanding life and death is only possible after understanding the self.

Thirst (tanha) is seen as the main suffering cause. therefore, people continually look for something external to make them happy. But no matter how successful we are, we never get full satisfaction. Furthermore, Buddha observed that this thirst

Need An Argumentative Essay On How One Provider Retooled Its Collections The Cal

Need an argumentative essay on How One Provider Retooled Its Collections: The California Sutter Health Approach. Needs to be 6 pages. Please no plagiarism.

This paper illustrates that the Sutter Group, a not-for-profit health system headquartered in Sacramento, North California, has been providing medical services and facilities to patients and their families in more than 100 towns and cities across Northern California. At Sutter Health, many of California’s best doctors, nurses and other medical personnel join hands and pool their expertise to bring healing and comfort to those who need it. Sutter is renowned for its services in the areas of cancer and cardiac care, orthopedic treatment and women and children health care. The group takes its name from John Sutter, one of the earliest European settlers in California and one of its healthcare pioneers. This paper shows how Sutter Health is not only revolutionizing healthcare by providing it where needed but has also managed to change the mindset of consumers who are encouraged to pay for it when they can afford to do so. The case at hand is a good example of how a not-for-profit organization has changed the mindset of the users of its services by asking them to pay for it. While we fully understand that hospitals in the private sector are run for profit and that Government funded hospitals are usually understaffed and have long wait times, most people are inclined to reach into their pockets for support and donations to not-for-profit institutions who they see doing good work out of a spirit of kindness, caring and benevolence. No doubt, Sutter Health has attracted a large following of good health professionals but it must be remembered that there are costs to be incurred even when running a non-profit organization. Salaries for staff, cost of medicines, lighting, equipment and other costs can be a burden on the best of organizations. Realizing this, it was imperative that Sutter Health had to think out of the box and attempt to ask the patients it serves and their families to pay for their treatment and thereby contribute to the running costs and continuity of the services being provided to one and all. While most Americans are keen to use freely provided healthcare services, it is clear that the number of services provided at Government-run institutions cannot match the demand for them.

Need An Argumentative Essay On How Social Or Economic Issues In This Country Inf

Need an argumentative essay on How social or economic issues in this country influence the roles women and men play in the family today. Needs to be 4 pages. Please no plagiarism.

and aided by the feminist movement, the number of women in the workforce has escalated since the 1970’s, a social phenomenon that has redefined the roles of both parents. Increasingly, mothers are contributing more to the family finances while fathers are spending more of their time caring for the kids. Though some decry this inevitable and necessary circumstance because they fear the disintegration of the traditional family unit is detrimental for children, the evidence shows that the opposite is true.

For the vast majority of mothers, going to work every day while leaving their children with surrogate moms is clearly not a matter of choice as some have suggested. Of the women who work in two-parent homes, more than 80 percent have spouses who receive $30,000 per year or less. A mother’s choice in many cases is to either allow their children to live in abject poverty or to go to work. Though among the minority, some working mothers have chosen to continue their career pursuits following childbirth but in either case, the workplace is seldom conducive to the family concerns of mothers, or fathers for that matter. Seldom do employers allow a mother to take a year or two off to care for small children without sacrificing position or employment status and are generally upset when mom is often called away to attend matters concerning a child. The choices are hard for mothers. The unsympathetic attitudes towards working mothers among some factions of the public and most employers are not constructive nor aligned with reality (“Working Mothers”, 1999).

Today, more than a quarter of all American kids reside in homes containing one parent, usually the mother, who must work to support the family. Some believe that the label ‘good mother’ implies one that dutifully fills her societal role by remaining home with the children. This belief is based solely on preconceived and outdated stereotypes and not on prevalent scientific data which indicates that

Need An Argumentative Essay On How The Media Affects Perception Needs To Be 2 Pa

Need an argumentative essay on How the media affects perception. Needs to be 2 pages. Please no plagiarism.

Television is one of the strongest media that has impacted our lives and the way we think. We cannot get away from the fact that most of our tastes, dressing and most importantly our lifestyle have been deeply influenced by the television through their commercials, soaps, dramas, music, dance and cultural programs.

On the flip side, television helps to educate and keep us informed and abreast with all that is taking place in the world through its news channels and its many other educative channels. But yet, besides all its good facets, it has been able to influence our lives in such a way that is difficult to even fathom.

One ironic notion is how T.V commercials portray the majority of women as housewives when actually more that 35 to 55 percent of women make up the regular workforce. (Journal of the University Film Association, 1981, pg. 6) Violence portrayed on T.V has had an exceptionally great influence especially on the youth of today who consider it to be the most natural thing. Good examples of this are the Hungerford massacre and the Columbine Killings.

Another major factor that has taken its toll on the women of today is dieting. Through their flashy commercials depicting pencil thin figures of women has had a bad influence over the normal woman who thinks she has to become like the models in the commercial and hence goes through a lot of stress and trauma in doing so. As a result she becomes anorexic or bulimic and undergoes a lot of psychological problems.

The radio may be a much cheaper way of advertising or getting various ideas or information across but it is rather an effective way to reach a target audience. The radio influences us in many different ways, in that it helps to change our opinion or tastes on things such as music, the buying and using of different products, gauging or forming opinions of different politicians, celebrities etc. This change is brought

Need An Argumentative Essay On How To Cope With The Problematic Situation Needs

Need an argumentative essay on How to Cope with the Problematic Situation. Needs to be 10 pages. Please no plagiarism.

The common feature of any social group or any size is that its members differ in the degree of their influence, and “… the person who exerts the most influence on the rest of the group thus affecting group beliefs and behavior is usually addressed as the leader” (Hollander 1985, p. 14). However, while this definition of leadership highlights the essence of leadership, it is only one of the numerous of definitions that have been proposed in the literature: the second edition of The Handbook of Leadership by Bass lists more than 130 definitions of this phenomenon and 13 major approaches (Bass, 1990, p. 12). Availability of such versatile data significantly facilitates analysis of problems related to leadership because in many cases the existing approaches and definitions are not mutually exclusive but rather complementary. The present report is an attempt to analyze a situation that provides valuable insights into the essential aspects of leadership and is directly linked to the effectiveness of managerial work.

The story of Ted Willis who has been hired as the new supervisor suggests he is likely to face the classic type of leadership problem: the new leader vs. the old leader. One should not get misled by the fact that Ted is the new supervisor and the old supervisor has been fired. The so-called ‘workers of influence’ theory of leadership is particularly important to understand the distinction between managers and leaders.

The key idea of this theory is that leadership may be exhibited by anyone in the organization in any type of position (Yukl 1989). According to this theory, leaders may operate at different levels within the organization and within the same hierarchical level as their followers. Such perception of leadership conflicts the traditional theories which treat it as a set of attributes and behaviors exhibited by persons with legitimate.

Need An Argumentative Essay On How To Move Into A New Home Needs To Be 2 Pages P

Need an argumentative essay on How to move into a new home. Needs to be 2 pages. Please no plagiarism.

It requires a high level of commitment that is demanding, both financially and physically. Further, moving into a new home is a long process that should begin well before the final day that a person moves. Following a systematic procedure however reduces the involved strain. The first step in moving into a new home involves planning for the proposed move. Even though many people who think that it is not important overlook this stage, it determines the efficiency of the entire process. Planning for the move should be done prior to moving out of the old home and include many considerations such as when to move out of the old home, when to move into the new home, agency to use for moving and possible intermediary processes and challenges between moving out of the old home and moving into the new home. The major significance of planning is that it identifies possible challenges in the process and prepares an individual.

Once planning has been done and the moving dates established, renovation of the new home follows. This is done according to the plan and needs to be completed well before the scheduled dates for moving. This stage ensures that possible problems in the new home such as required paintings and repair of broken pieces are fixed. All this can be done through renovation agencies or through direct contracting of renovating personnel. It is followed by, or may be concurrently done with packing of belongings in the old home. Determined by the period in the planning, packing of the property to be moved should be done in such a way that it is complete before the moving out date. This can be done personally or with the help of contracted individuals. It also involves making decision on what to move out with so that one does not pack unnecessary things.

Once packing is complete, an individual should consider the things that will lack in the new home. These

Need An Argumentative Essay On How To Prevent And Reduce Stress At Cleeve Link N

Need an argumentative essay on How to Prevent and Reduce Stress at Cleeve Link. Needs to be 21 pages. Please no plagiarism.

The main findings of the research are that in Cleeve Hill staffs have been identified five categories of substantive factors that can be identified as potential cause of work-related stress: quantitative and qualitative demands, autonomy and Control, employee involvement in organisational changes, relations at work (including support from colleagues and line managements), role of the employee.

This paper declares that notably in some organizations, many tasks are added to a single job description making it barely for any employee to perform without being stressed. In such circumstances, the employees find themselves with heavy workloads, infrequent work breaks, long working hours and or little shift turnover. According to Friedman, a philosopher who investigated the optimum conditions that a human being would be most productive in performing some tasks advocated that human beings perform more efficiently under less duress. Different organizations have different forms of leadership depending on their nature or objectives. However, the major management can be categorised into two main categories namely democratic and autocratic. Democratic leaders employ a bureaucratic approach to leadership ensuring that organizational decisions are made in line with the opinion of all employees. On the contrary, autocratic leaders act on their own. any decision affecting an organization is left in the hands of the top management. In line with this, the manner in which decisions are made in organizations affect employees directly.
