Current paper focuses on the culture and structure of a well-known Australian company, the Flight Centre. The firm is based on a unique principle: the establishment of small operational centers is preferred instead of large departments. autonomous and flexible small units are used for developing the firm’s operations worldwide. At this point, the firm is strongly differentiated from its rivals – which are likely to use large operational units which can handle a high volume of work but which are characterized by lack of effective communication among their members. Despite its success until today, as explained in the case study, the firm needs to update its culture and structure in order to respond to the challenges of its external environment. The key elements of the firm’s culture and structure are critically evaluated in this paper using relevant literature. the choices available to the firm in terms of culture and structure are also presented, taking into consideration the conditions in the global market but also the firm’s existing resources and characteristics – meaning its current culture and structure. 2. …

that should be used for managing the various business activities. from this point of view, culture can promote ‘integration and cohesion across the organization’ (Nickson 2007). From a similar point of view, Deal and Kennedy (1988) note that organizational culture indicate ‘the way we do things around here’ (Deal and Kennedy 1988, p.4, in Nickson 2007). Robbins (2009) refers to a quite common definition of culture, which is based on the view that culture, as an element of modern organizations, is ‘a system of shared meaning held by members, distinguishing the organization from other organizations’ (Robbins 2009). Moreover, Dessler (1976) uses three different approaches for defining culture: ‘the structural, subjective and synthetic approaches’ (Dessler 1976, in Dwivedi 1995). The above approaches could be analyzed as follows: the structural approach perceives culture as ‘a set of characteristics which differentiate an organization from another one’ (Dessler 1976, in Dwivedi 1995). At the next level, the subjective approach refers to culture as ‘the view of employees on their organization’ (Dessler 1976, in Dwivedi 1995). Finally, the synthetic approach is based on the combination of the two previous approaches for defining organizational culture (Dwivedi 1995). On the other hand, Schein (1992) describes culture as the ‘perception of a group of individuals/ employees on their organization’ (Schein 1992, in Miller 2008). In the context of the above definition, organizational culture can be successfully defined only if the communication across the organization is satisfactory. The close dependency of culture on communication is also highlighted in the study of Inceoglu (2002).

Need An Argumentative Essay On Business And Society Critically Analyze Joel Baka

Need an argumentative essay on Business and society. Critically analyze Joel Bakans argument in the book The Corporation. Needs to be 5 pages. Please no plagiarism.

by corporations include polluting and poisoning the environment, making people work like slaves by extending minimal wages, colluding with non-democratic and corrupt state governments to manipulate things in their way, using mafia to silence the voices of opposition. Bakan goes on to propose a range of reforms that could restore the real power back to the people. In The Corporation, Bakan introduces corporations as the instruments of evil and corruption, which could be tamed and restrained by pursuing a range of reforms.

In the Chapter One, Bakan goes on to elaborate on the origins of the corporation in a historical perspective. The essence of Bakan’s argument is that in the hope of developing public infrastructure, the nations like the US and the UK allowed the corporations to own minimum liability while carrying on their work. This power of minimum liability extended to the corporations was further protected by bringing in the laws that supported and protected corporations. At a local level, the state governments and the courts of law supported and created legal instruments that protected corporations, to attract corporate investment. With the passage of time, these corporations evolved into organic concepts that exerted immense and uncontrollable power over the shareholders and the masses. Besides, the separation of ownership and control by extending shares to the shareholders allowed the corporations to carry on their business with much less control and restraint. The limited liability granted to the corporation was not only protected by the law, but also flowed out of the immense wealth owned by the corporations. Gradually, corporations evolved into self sustaining entities, which had the power to influence the society, but were independent of the society in their working.

In Chapter Two to Five, Bakan unravels the harm caused to the society by the corporations in the form of environmental pollution, exploitation of the labor and manipulation of the laws

The intended result may not justify the means, and the act remains immoral.

In the article, Nagel seeks to make the distinction in an attempt to create a moral framework by which to view the Vietnam war and its atrocities, or war and massacre in general. His concern is to develop a consistent and cogent set of elements by which particular acts of war may be adjudged as to whether they are right or wrong.

The chosen article was published in the December 2006 issue of the prestigious Fortune magazine, which is widely subscribed by managers and executives. It deals with the trade of ‘conflict diamonds’, or diamonds that were mined through the exploitation of the poor citizens of these African states. Ordinarily, the businessman has a right to make a profit and the customer a right to buy the product. However, where the product is but a luxury, it raises the question why the workers should be denied fair treatment and a decent standard of living. In this light, the businessman’s right to a profit and the customer’s right to acquire a product must be denied to protect the workers’ fundamental human rights.

However, should the diamond trade be banned, there would be the corollary issue of whether it is right to deprive these workers of their only source of livelihood. The dilemma is that closure of the business puts a stop to one evil and spawns another. While legitimate diamond companies have taken steps to contain the illegal trade, its complete eradication is a near impossibility. Thus the workers can do little more than tolerate the present state of affairs, or face starvation.

Need An Argumentative Essay On Business Excellence Model Needs To Be 8 Pages Ple

Need an argumentative essay on Business Excellence Model. Needs to be 8 pages. Please no plagiarism.

Quality is the key because any process completed without the expected quality will be abhorred by the intended customers, leading to problems for the organization. So, Total Quality Management (TQM) is the management function, which should be incorporated in all the processes that will happen in an organization. Furthermore, if Excellence is inbuilt into that TQM, then there will be optimal quality in all the processes, making organization’s every initiative a successful endeavour. So, this paper by focusing on the term “Excellence” from the perspective of TQM, will discuss how excellence can be managed optimally in an organization.

According to princeton.edu, Excellence can be defined as the “quality of excelling and also possessing good qualities of highest degree”. The term gives the same meaning when analyzed from the organizational perspective as well. That is, when the organization produces products or offers services, they have to incorporate quality in it. Only if there is quality, it can succeed, otherwise it will be disliked by the customers. While trying to maintain that quality, the organization will also or should also try to achieve excellence. This state of excellence could be some thing that is set by the organization themselves or by certain external agencies. So, only if organizations achieve excellence in quality, it can reach the ‘minds’ of the customers, then entice them and eventually ‘push’ them to buy the organization’s products or use their services.

Need An Argumentative Essay On Business Law And Conflict With Trade Secrets Need

Need an argumentative essay on Business Law and conflict with trade secrets. Needs to be 12 pages. Please no plagiarism.

How does business law conflict with trade secrets, and to what extent does this conflict pose problems? This paper will conduct an overview of how the business law acknowledges trade secrets and how it attempts to protect them. Along with case law examples, a stance will be ascertained as to the conflicting elements between business law and trade secrets, and how these conflicts, if any, cause problems for companies that try to protect their trade secrets. How the law defines trade secret, protects it, and what action can be taken will be assessed on a deeper level, as well as a brief comparison to its application to patents and trademarks to determine just how these conflicts have arisen, and why.

Companies spend vast amounts of money on perfecting and researching new methods, processes and products in order to make them ‘stand out’ from their competitors. For example, Company Z discovers, after research and careful planning, a new safety system for its family vehicles – a system which cost the company millions in research and is now able to set this company apart from its competitors in this area. Indeed, this company should be entitled to the benefits reaped by the research and effort, both financially, and on a reputational level. It should be protected from Company Y, which decides that it wants to reap the benefits also of Company Z’s research, but without having exerted the time and money. Not only is this unfair on many ethical levels, it also has the potential to create rifts in the market, for Company Z has put a large amount of funds into discovering something that Company Y steps in and takes for free. The law attempts to prevent such occurrences, and recognizes the inevitable demise of companies such as Z in such situations. However, there is much potential for problems to arise, especially when the elusive trade secret is defined by the actions of the company which possesses it rather than its actual content per se. This element

e essence of the contract, the contract does not become voidable by the failure to do such thing at or before the specified time. but the promisee is entitled to compensation from the promisor for any loss occasioned to him by such failure. (Section 52, Contract Act 1872)

The delay caused by the supplier and workers of the plaintiff gives the right to the defendant to cut down the losses or compensation as per the agreed terms. Therefore the defendant has no need to reimburse the $21,000 that he withheld due to the incident caused by plaintiff or his parties.

As the delay has been due to the supplier’s act then the plaintiff can file the appeal against suppliers and if the court deems it appropriate can, then the plaintiff can reimburse the due share. The case involved Apple and Samsung in argument of products manufactory. The jury found Samsung guilty by willfully infringing Apple patents. Apple requested to triple the compensation, but the lawyers defended the claim. Apple requested the court to prevent Samsung to ship products infringing Apple’s patents. The court decision favored Apple. Samsung penalty served as a deterrent effect to worn other companies trying to manufacture products similar to their competitor. The court ruling that Samsung should compensate Apple for damages was right, since Samsung had made profit from Apples products (Wingfield, p. 4). Apple did not make the products for their competitors to flagrantly copy but for delighting their customers.

I strongly agree with the courts decision. Each company should use skills but not to copy other company’s product. The ruling served as a warning to Samsung and other companies trying to copy their competitor’s products.

This new project for the implementation of the SAP R/3 will completely change the structure for the working of organization and also provide them the competitive edge.

The second company is the Mobil Oil Australia Limited that is previously using Sap system for the data processing and as a core back-office system. But the company is not feeling well with this system implementation because the present working is still heavily paper-based.
