Establishing a Hotel Business
The hotel that I will create is a medium sized mid-market resort in Miami with 240 rooms for the guests, and the hotel will provide the visitors with ample parking space, king sized beds, and attractive furniture to enhance its appeal. The choice of Miami as the hotel’s location is ideal despite the high level of competition from the numerous established hotel and resort chains found in the city. Miami has a number of tourist attractions such as sandy beaches, the Jungle Island, Vizcaya Museum and Gardens, Bayfront Park, and the Miami Seaquarium among others. Additionally, the city has favorable weather conditions allow the tourists to enjoy outdoor activities throughout the year as well as having a small population of locals who are known for their hospitality. I hope that the resort hotel will receive many visitors and record good profit margins. The decision to open a resort hotel in Miami is important because most of the visitors in the city seek relaxing environments and willing to pay premium amounts for the self-contained rooms located near beaches.
The property will be located on a 6acre plot next to the beach and will feature a number of amenities such as outdoor swimming pools, and two tennis courts. The hotel resort will also have a mini basketball court, spa, room service and an indoor fitness center that will remain open throughout the day. The guest rooms will feature high-quality furnishings, free Wi-Fi, air conditioning, and free cable TV connections. The resort will also free transport to outback locations in Florida to allow the visitors to enjoy their hiking and picnic experiences at Oleta River State, Bear Cut Nature Preserve, Big Cypress National Preserve, Everglades National Park, FIU Nature Preserve, or AD Barnes Park. Such experiences will help in promoting the resort as an attractive hospitality facility that offers full services and additional benefits to its guests, and this will form part of the resort’s strategy to enhance its competitiveness in the city.
The employees play a critical role in achieving positive outcomes from opening the new hotel resort in its target market because they interact with the guests directly and understand some of the customers’ personal preferences. The employees should also be well motivated to ensure that they offer high-quality services in a tourist market that features high levels of competition from established luxury hotel and resort brands. As such, it is important to ensure that the hotel employs a sufficient number of employees for various positions to achieve the optimum staff to room ratios. Moreover, the resort hotel should not overstaff its departments to avoid incurring increased operational costs. The identified departments in the resort hotel include the front office, finance, human resource, housekeeping, food, sales, and logistics departments.
The hotel will hire ninety-six employees to work in different departments as follows; fifteen employees at the front desk, ten employees in valet parking services, fifteen workers in housekeeping, twenty waiters, twelve employees in food production and beverage, six employees in facilities maintenance and engineering, twelve employees in administrative and management, and six employees in the fitness center. The front desk attendants will work on a shift basis with nine attendants working during the day and six serving the night shifts. The front desk attendants should be highly motivated and have good interpersonal skills because they are the face of the hotel and give the guests the first impression of the resort’s hospitality. Each of the housekeeping employees will be responsible for cleaning sixteen rooms, and this is the national average in most facilities. The food production and beverage department is also important to enhance the guests’ experiences at the resort by offering quality foods and drinks.
The primary responsibility of the front office employees is receiving visitors when they arrive at the hotel and helping them after completing their time. The front office employees are also expected to respond to all the visitors’ queries and offer information concerning the facility among others. The applicants for the front office jobs should have at least high school diplomas although they will receive training after selection. However, the crucial skills sought in the applicants include computer literacy, strong interpersonal skills, ability to multitask, and good communication skills. The projected annual salary for the front office employees will be $15,000 although this will increase as the employees gain an increased experience in their work. The housekeepers’ primary responsibility will be cleaning the guests’ rooms, dusting furniture and arranging the rooms, and making the beds among others. The most important requirement for this job is the physical and mental fitness of the applicants in addition to attention to details, time management, thoroughness and organization, and teamwork. The housekeeping job does not have specific educational requirements although they will be expected to have good communication and interpersonal skills. The projected salary for the entry level housekeepers is $12,000 per year although it is expected to increase with the employees’ levels of experience.
The minimum educational requirement for the valet parking service attendants is a high school diploma and their job will include parking the visitors’ cars and assisting them in carrying their luggage to and from the hotel. The parking attendants are expected to have good communication and interpersonal skills as well as valid driving licenses. The projected annual salary for the valet parking service attendants is $8,000 although this is subject to increase in the future. The food production and beverage employees’ responsibilities will include preparing various types of foods and cocktails for the guests. The minimum educational requirement for the food production and beverage employees is a high school diploma although the chefs are expected to have a minimum of a college degree. The projected salary for these employees is $15,000 although this will increase depending on experience and attained levels of education.
The waiters/waitresses’ responsibility will include ensuring that the guests receive their ordered meals at assigned tables or in their rooms. The servers are also expected to ensure that the visitors enjoy their meals in relaxed environments and they are expected to have good communication skills and teamwork for their work. The minimum educational level required for the waiters/waitresses is a high school diploma although a college degree will be an added advantage. The servers’ projected annual salary is $10,000 although this is subject to increases and added benefits in the future. The facilities maintenance and engineering employees will be responsible for repairing any electrical or mechanical damages at the resort. The required skills from these employees include teamwork, time management, and analytical skills and their projected entry-level salary is $18,000. The minimum educational level required for the maintenance and engineering personnel is a college degree. The administrators will be responsible for supervising all the activities in their various departments as well as assigning jobs and managing job rotations. The minimum educational requirement for the administrators is a college degree although a master’s degree in business administration is an added advantage. The entry-level salaries of the administrators will be $40,000 per annum. The fitness center attendants will be responsible for assisting the guests in workouts and aerobic exercises during their visits at the hotel and the educational requirement for these employees is a college degree in any discipline related to physical education. The total annual salaries for all the employees at the hotel will be $1,558,000 as shown in the table below.

Name :"If you’re given only an upper note and label and asked to provide alower note , your task is to find the scale in which the given note isthe specified scale degree . Let’s say we want to find a M3 below D:"I M3This asks us to provide a lower note that is tonic of a major scale in which D is3 . The question , essentially , is : " If D is 3 in a major scale , what is 1 ? " To findthe answer , you can count down three on the staff ( back three in the musi -cal alphabet ) to situate the note on the correct line or space , then determinewhether an accidental is required . We know that distance 3 down from D is B,but we also need to know whether this B requires an accidental . It does : Disnot 3 in B major ( D # is ) but D is 3 in Bb major , so we need to flatten the B :`84TO`M3Or using half- step counting :"89. 50count HI steps :23bebeAs always , if you use this method , just be sure that the spelling of the lowernote is correct -_ Bb , not A$ .E . Add a note below the given note to form the specified interval .OO1 . P 42 . M33 . M74 . M 25 . PS6 . MG7 . P 48 . M3LESSON 13 : INTERVAL BASICS219

Name One Economic Issue That You Have Heard Discussed By Your Friends Coworkers 1
/in Uncategorized /by developerName one economic issue that you have heard discussed by your friends, coworkers, or on the news that you wish you understood better
•Research this issue. Find three explanations explaining this issue. One should be a video or popular press article, but TWO must be journal articles from ECONOMIC JOURNALS.
•In 500 – 750 words, summarize your findings on this issue.
For our remaining Residency assignments, we will be researching, evaluating, and summarizing several different relevant economic issues.
One problem that is often discussed by those who research economic issues is that many times news stations and popular press type companies miss the important issues, simply misunderstand the issues, or chose to sway the facts to fit a certain viewpoint or bias. Our goal with these remaining assignments will be to take the different prompts given, evaluate their validity using Economic Journal articles and use these to either support or refute (based upon each set of instructions) and then explain this issue in a way that the general public would understand. Often, it appears, that the news that is available to us uses a particular set of information to explain an issue in a way that may or may not be accurate.
Here is an example to help illustrate the goal of this assignment. (This is both a Finance issue and an Economic issue), during the most recent filing period for United States taxes, there was a large amount of focus put on the AMOUNT of refund that people were receiving when filing their taxes. This information (frequent news articles) was being used to try to evaluate whether or not the changes to the tax code for 2018 benefited or hurt tax payers. The problem with this news is that it is actually IRRELEVANT in relation to whether or not the changes to the tax code benefitted or hurt tax payers. The RELEVANT news would be related to the amount of taxes tax payers actually paid, but this information is private so unavailable to reporters.
Your goal with these assignments is to always try to find the RELEVANT information using Economic Journal articles and then evaluate those in relation to published news articles or video news.
Your assignment will be counted off one point for each minute that it is submitted late.
For Residency assignments, we will be utilizing TurnItIn. Your goal should be to have your assignments be below 20% similarity. You will have an option to resubmit your assignment before the deadline if that similarity is above that benchmark.
Assignments that do not meet assigned word count, do not address economic issues, or do not address similarity issues via TurnItIn, will have grade deductions accordingly.
•When completed, upload to the appropriate place in Moodle.
•Make sure to type this. Using Word, preferably.
•Cite your sources.
