So much does objectification appear as loss of the object that the worker is robbed of the objects most necessary not only for his life but for his work. Indeed, labor itself becomes an object which he can obtain only with the greatest effort and with the most irregular interruptions. So much does the appropriation of the object appear as estrangement that the more objects the worker produces the less he can possess and the more he falls under the sway of his product, capital. All these consequences are implied in the statement that the worker is related to the product of labor as to an alien object. For on this premise it is clear that the more the worker spends himself, the more powerful becomes the alien world of objects which he creates over and against himself, the poorer he himself (his inner world) becomes, the less belongs to him as his own”. But since Marx, left movements have become more complex and embraced a more multi-modal operation of oppression (MacKinnon,1982). Michael Albert, for example, advances a “four forces” theory where four spheres of society (gender and kinship, race and culture, economy and polity) interact in what a Marxist would term a dialectical fashion to reproduce different oppressions, with the consequence that oppressions can be caused by one to all four of the spheres and the consequence that a gain in one sphere can be offset by increased problems in another (Albert and Hahnel, 1981, 18-38). Applying the four forces model, we see that, in fact, there are more sources for alienation than just the operation of capital. The traditional Marxist idea of alienated or “estranged” labor is simple enough. The fruits of one’s labor goes to the capitalist, the circumstances under which the labor is controlled and done are mandated by the capitalist. The only thing the worker keeps is his pay. The problem is that this means that most people spend eight hours a day, far more when Marx was writing, in totalitarian environments (Albert and Hahnel, 1981). Further, it means that that most important part of their life, almost a third to a half of it, is not “theirs” but is done to service others. This alienates the worker from their own labor process. When they go to work, they are not their own man, their work is not their own, and the fruits of their work are not theirs. Note that, in any service industry, even a self-employed person (for whom the alienation model does not strictly apply) offers a product to someone else who then owns it. But that person at least owns their own tools, owns their own time, determines how to spend their time, etc. The process of alienation leads workers to become estranged from much of their own life, almost on auto-pilot. Immediate objections crop up. Let us imagine a future society that is not capitalist in any way: It has no markets, no private ownership of the means of production, no class relations to speak of. There is a landscaping worker’s council. They collectively own their tools, make decisions for their workplace (how the break room functions), etc. A customer calls them and asks them to plant roses. The landscapers recommend violets, given the soil, climate and the colors of the area, but the customer insists on roses. The landscapers need to discharge that requirement, because the service provided by a landscaper is to make a customers’ lawn more beautiful for them. Even a just society will have orders, and people producing labor not entirely under their control. Even within the worker’s council, no worker will ever win every vote regarding their labor.

Harriet Tubman was a strong African-American woman born in servitude. Both of her parents toiled as slaves in Maryland. During her development, she endured a harsh life as she was subjected to whipping from a tender age. When she entered into adulthood, she realized that she could be sold as a slave as it was a norm at that time (Siebert, & Hart, 2006). Therefore, in 1849 she decided to escape to Philadelphia with the assistance of an abolitionist. During that period, there were few white people who were against slavery and they helped to free slaves.
Harriet was handed a note by her abolitionist neighbor that contained two names that would direct her to a safe place. Harriet was joined by other blacks and went to Subversive Railroad, which were houses. After her escape, she met with other abolitionists whom they planned on how to free other slaves who were left behind. Due to her resilient in fighting slavery, Harriet became the leading abolitionist before the civil war (Lillian, n.d.). The particular event by Harriet was significant in America as it showed her resilience to free other slaves. Her character also gave hope to slaves as they felt that they had a person to fight for them and also keep them safe.
In 1877, America witnessed the first person of color ever to graduate in the military academy in the country’s history. Henry Ossian, who was born in slavery, made history by being the first person of color to graduate from West point. During his years in the academy, he never had any contact with a white cadet. The Academy was the preliminary military school to be established in the US. The primary reason the military school was built was to educate and train young men theory and practice of military science. Before Henry was admitted to the military school, there was another black American named James Webster.
Although, James was admitted to the military school he never graduated. However, Henry endured all

The cost of subsidizing green energy is therefore spread to individual and corporate taxpayers. The economic condition is likely to worsen due to the fact that generational effects of green energy utilize funds that could be pumped into other developmental projects.
Green energy subsidies suppress sustainable development goals and objectives. This is more so when these subsidies increase energy consumption. With increased consumption of energy, wastes from such consumption would increase negative effects on the environment. The process is therefore prone to exacerbate harmful energy effects on environmental welfare. Burden to maintain low pollution levels in the environment is likely to increase and government spending doubles in that case (Douglas F, et al. 2000, p.60–66). Subsidies will be made available for green energy, but government and corporate efforts to combat environmental pollution will remain unchanged.
Organizational operating costs should not be covered through subsidies. However, this has been the characteristic phenomenon in the use of subsidies. Organizations that formulate green energy projects and want to implement them seeks for subsidies. Rather than assisting companies to implement such projects, the subsidies should be used for the purposes of enhancing accessibility to contemporary sources of energy. The focus should be directed to households whose access to modern sources is limited as well as to those who cannot afford it. Since this is not the case, subsidies for green energy are argued against. World Bank and World Resource Institute have as well argued against subsidies for green energy in the same context (Brown, 2006, p.

The Yum CEO’s pay drops to 10 million, which is a 22% decrease. This indicates how the overall revenue may be a determinant when calculating the total pay of executives. CEO is directly liable when a company underperform. Considering the model used to calculate the pay of the CEO, it is evident that a CEO is motivated to perform once a pay cut is registered on the overall salary package. Each company formulates its payment model based on the stock performance however Giorgi and Chemi (2014)indicates the model being a myth as many companies shows that there is no correlation between the company stock performance to the payment packages. They attribute only 1% of highly paid CEO to be based on stock performances.
In conclusion, the compensation policies vary depending on the firm’s priority. The article shows how stock performance determines the compensation package of a CEO. The model works to ensure the company’s top chief works towards ensuring the overall performance of the company is stable and overcome external factors.

As the report declares women with HIV infection have great difficulty accessing health care, and carry a heavy burden of caring for children and other family members who may also be HIV-infected. They often lack social support and face other challenges that may interfere with their ability to adhere to treatment regimens. In the United States, most women are infected with HIV during sex with an HIV-infected man or while using HIV-contaminated syringes for the injection of drugs such as heroin, cocaine, and amphetamines. Of the new HIV infections diagnosed among women in the United States, through 2002, the CDC estimated that 70.3 percent were attributed to heterosexual contact and 27.6 percent to injection drug use. In the United States, studies have shown that during unprotected heterosexual intercourse with an HIV-infected partner, women have a greater risk of becoming infected than uninfected men who have heterosexual intercourse with an HIV-infected woman.
This paper stresses that physically, women are more susceptible than men to HIV infection through heterosexual sex, and this fact alone means that special attention must be paid to protecting them if they are not to be disproportionately affected by the epidemic. Information drawn from different studies shows that during heterosexual sex, women are about twice as likely to become infected with HIV from men as men are from women.

/in Uncategorized /by developerI will pay for the following essay Air pollution in US. The essay is to be 2 pages with three to five sources, with in-text citations and a reference page.
Air pollution has had adverse effects on the people of the US. Indoor air pollution may trigger allergic reactions in sensitive individuals, including asthma, respiratory-tract infections, emphysema, cardiovascular diseases and bronchitis (Phalen and Phalen 30). Some effects may be fatal or severely debilitating such as cancer, heart disease and some respiratory diseases and may only be noticed after repeated or long periods of exposure. Treatable effects include irritation of the nose, eyes and throat, dizziness, fatigue and headaches. The effects of outdoor pollutants include permanent lung damage, irritation of the respiratory system, asthma attacks, susceptibility to respiratory infections and acute bronchitis (EPA). Some have severe effects such as lead which accumulates in bones and adversely affects kidney function, the nervous system, cardiovascular system as well as developmental and reproductive systems. Environmentally, air pollution is responsible for climate change and global warming through the greenhouse effect. It is important that air pollution is reduced to levels that have minimal environmental and health effects. Statistics from EPA show significant reduction of the emission of pollutant gases in the period between 2000 and 2012. Carbon monoxide emission reduced by 51%, lead by 50%, while that of sulfur dioxide reduced by 66%. In line with this, EPA promulgates regulations that should be followed by individual citizens, businesses, communities and states.

In Aldi product innovation could be related to the introduction of products that do not currently exist in the UK supermarket industry, even if their differentiation from the industry’s existing products would be small: for example, an energy drink of different ingredients depending on the status of health and the age of consumers would be a product that meets the terms of product differentiation.
Through product differentiation Aldi could manage to acquire a sustainable competitive advantage, i.e. an advantage that ‘cannot be copied by competition’ (Lamb et al. 2011, p.42). For developing a sustainable competitive advantage Aldi should try to ensure that its products are aligned with the needs of the local market and that they could attract the interest of local consumers (West et al. 2010). this means that the advantage of the firm’s products towards them of its competitors should be clear to the consumers.
Another approach that Aldi would use for acquiring a sustainable competitive advantage would be the following: the firm could use social marketing, which ‘promotes behaviours that provide well-being for individuals or for society’ (Kapoor and Kulshrestha 2013, p.10). For example, Aldi could use its marketing campaign for increasing the awareness of people on the health consequences of the consumption of milk-based products. Of course, other strategies, for acquiring a sustainable competitive advantage would be also available to Aldi: for example, by decreasing the price of a specific category of products would result to a sustainable competitive advantage for Aldi, even in the short term (Lamb 2012).
In the context of marketing, a PEST analysis is a valuable tool for assessing the status of a particular market, i.e. to identify the market’s current performance in regard to one or more industries. In addition PEST analysis can help to check the prospects of a market, i.e. its potentials for growth in the future, as related to a series of

Bäumer and his colleagues have random chances at either life or death on a daily basis. He expresses dissolution and loses touch with reality as the war takes a toll on his emotional stability. The older and more experienced soldiers are not any different as they express their frustrations with the war, “We are not youth any longer. We don’t want to take the world by storm. We are fleeing from ourselves, from our life. We were eighteen and had begun to love life and the world, and we had to shoot it to pieces” (Maria, 1929. pg. 124).
The author of the novel addresses specific themes all of which portray the adverse effects of war. Key among the themes in the book is the horror of war. Maria presents war as a harrowing experience that causes both physical and psychological injury to the soldiers. Paul Bäumer experiences such horrors of war. They live in the constant fear of death. The deplorable living conditions in the trenches expose most of them to various diseases. Lack of training for the young soldiers picked from school intensifies the risk of death while the lack of food further worsens their experiences. The author builds an inherent conflict between patriotic idealism and the carnage and gore in the battlefield. Paul Bäumer’s teacher Kantorek encourages them to keep fighting for their country giving all the benefits of the war for the Germans. However, the carnage and gore of the battlefield paint a different picture of the war thus proving that the worthlessness of the risk.

He speaks to mind “throw off the noose and spring into the stream — By diving I could evade the bullets and, swimming vigorously, take to the woods and get away home” (Bierce, The Project Gutenberg). .
Farquhar’s imaginary escape into another space and time begins at the point he falls off the edge of the bridge, in which the period that follows after he shuts his eyes corresponds to his newly rendered sharp perception that brings him to an ideal state of reaching his home and meeting his long yearned-for wife. He experiences wandering in the woods prior and hears strange sounds, then by the time he comes close the wonderful sight of his wife and home, time returns to the actual reality of his hanging. Here, the character of Farquhar allegorizes how flexible the time could get as he embodies an extended metaphor in a “vast pendulum”. Apparently, there emerges a huge lapse between the points of falling and feeling the noose strangle Peyton’s neck and it is within this span that Farquhar invents the other favorable world with its own rule of time. In the light of such allegory, one learns that time may lose control when the power of determination to subdue it with the mind and the senses combined to create the possibility of drifting into another realm apart from the real.
On the other hand, Nathaniel Hawthorne’s “Young Goodman Brown” consists of allegorical elements that are themselves found in characters as well as in the symbolism of significant places and objects in the story which basically depicts the metaphorical journey of a man in Salem. It is of huge essence to recall the witchcraft trials that took place in Salem the year 1962 where nineteen men and women accused of performing witchcrafts were taken to Gallows Hill near Salem to be hanged. While the journey appears literal, the man’s being accompanied by the devil in the course makes it a

Americans have the psyche that makes them view political systems with suspicion especially when it comes to law enforcement and justice. Its founders are rebels whose drives stem from individualism and unyielding self-reliance. Political players will tend to come up with policies that favor their interests, as opposed to the common good.’ Unlicensed gun was in use by Goetz in 1984, to shoot four black teen-agers, claiming that they were trying to mug him in a New York City subway train.’ (Hornaday par. 12). This case of vigilantism stirred the nation about thirty years back when the nation viewed matters of race, government legislations and crime with anxiety. One could attest that racial animus motivates such actions like the fateful incident by Goetz as the youths were all black. The case to take a shift when the association of national rifles intervenes on behalf of Goetz, they also take this opportunity to advocate for additional liberal hidden carry laws. The reason why the rifles association advocate for more liberation when it comes to carrying arms is not necessarily for protection but for people to equip themselves with the firearms without fearing jail terms. Afterwards, Mr. Goetz only gets a conviction for of illegal firearm and not of murder.
Another case where a Mr. Zimmerman shot dead an African-American youth, the youth donned in line with his pop culture was unarmed. Such dressings are promoting violence and menace in the streets of America. Mr. Zimmerman had a licensed rifle and was not to face a serious case thanks to Mr. Goetz initial conviction that alert of rifle association on the need to licence rifles (Hornaday par. 12). These cases are few examples of what goes on in the streets of America, is it a case of political injustice or racism? After electing a black president, Americans want to believe that they are no longer
