Hospital Care Is Changing Dramatically As Reform Continues As This Week S Readin

Hospital care is changing dramatically as reform continues. As this week’s readings showed, many patients seek care in a hospital instead of working with a primary care physician. CEO’s are finding themselves in the position of trying to educate the community they serve as to what care should be provided within a hospital setting and what care should be provided in an outside clinic.Picture yourself as a CEO of a small community hospital. You are creating a flowchart for your community as to what services are offered in the hospital and what services should they should seek through their PCP. This flowchart should be in layman’s terms so that the general population understands it, and provide them with the in

Hospital Compare Was Developed By The Centers For Medicare Medicaid Services Cms

Hospital Compare was developed by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) with the purpose of helping consumers make decisions where to get health care and to encourage hospitals to improve quality of care.

Select at least two hospitals in your area. Then, for EACH hospital, on the Hospital Compare website:

  1. Find the tab “Survey of Patients’ Experiences.”
  2. Look at the measure “Patients who reported YES, they would definitely recommend the hospital.”

Post your initial post by Thursday, and include:

  1. What is the score of each hospital? Are they higher or lower than the national average?
  2. From your learning, list four concepts from Mr. Lee’s presentation, the PowerPoint presentation for the learning plan, and/or your reading that you think could improve the patient experience at this hospital.

Hospital Records Show That 16 Of All Patients Are Admitted For Heart Disease Cor

Hospital records show that 16% of all patients are admitted for heart disease (coronary), 26% are admitted for cancer (oncology) treatment, and 8% receive both coronary and oncology care. What is the probability that a randomly selected patient is admitted for coronary care, oncology or both?

I answered 0.5 and it was wrong. I thought that it is a union of events for probability of coronary, oncology and both. So that would apply to the sum rule for union of events. And i simply added the probabilites of all three. I saw that it said OR and not AND which would indicate intersection (subtraction).

Please help and explain! Thanks
