Homework 3 Chapter 13 20 Points Due At The Beginning Of The Class On April 28

The Atlantic Coast Shipping Company has a warehouse terminal in Spartanburg, South Carolina. The capacity of each terminal dock is three trucks. As trucks enter the terminal, the drivers receive numbers; and when one of the three dock spaces becomes available, the truck with the lowest number enters the vacant dock. Truck arrivals are Poisson distributed, and the unloading and loading times (service times) are exponentially distributed. The average arrival rate at the terminal is five trucks per hour, and the average service rate per dock is three trucks per hour (20 minutes per truck).

a. What are L, , W, ?

b. The management of the shipping company is considering adding extra employees and equipment to improve the average service time per terminal dock to 15 minutes per truck. It would cost the company $18,000 per year to achieve this improved service. Management estimates that it will increase its profit by $750 per year for each minute it is able to reduce a truckâs waiting time. Determine whether management should make the investment.

Homework 3 1 Consider The World Oil Market In Which A Cartel Opec And A Competit

Believe a. is MC=13+.5Q, b. is P1=$40 P2=$55, and c. is P=$40 and Q=30.Need help on d through g.

Homework 31. Consider the world oil market, in which a cartel (OPEC) and a competitive fringe (rest ofthe world) are operating. Suppose that global oil demand and the supply of thecompetitive fringe are given by the following functions:Qw = 70 – P,Qf = -40 + P.Furthermore, suppose that the cartel is comprised of two countries, and let each country’smarginal cost function be as follows:MC, = 13 + Q1,MCz = 13 + Q2-a. Derive the marginal cost function (MC.) of the cartel.(2 pt)b. Calculate the price at which the competitive fringe would be driven out of themarket (P1) and the price at which the cartel would be driven out of the market(Pz).(2 pt)c. Due to the presence of the competitive fringe in the market, there will be a kinkpoint in the demand curve of the cartel. Calculate the price (P) and quantity (@) atwhich this kink occurs.(2 pt)d. Now suppose the inverse demand for the cartel’s output has the followingformula:Po = 55 – 0.5Q to left of the kink point quantity (i.e., Q. < Q),P. = 70 – Q to the right of the kink point quantity (i.e., Q. > Q).Also, suppose the corresponding marginal revenue function of the cartel has thefollowing formula:MR. = 55 – Q to the left of the kink point quantity,MR. = 70 – 20 to the right of the kink point quantity.Use this information to calculate the cartel’s output (Q.) and the price charged perunit of output (P.).(2 pt)C.Calculate the output of the fringe (Q,) at this price.(1 pt)f. Calculate the total output (Q. + Q, ) supplied in the global oil market.(1 pt)g. Calculate the output of each of the two members of the cartel: Q1 and Q2. (2 pt)

Homework 3 Consider The Following Distributed Lag Model Relating The Percentage

I just wantta know how to calculat the delay multipliers, interim multipliers and total multiplier because I overslept and missed the lecture.

Homework 3 Consider the following distributed lag model relating the percentage growth inprivate investment ([NVGWTH) to the federal funds rate of interest (F FRATE): INVGWTH, = 4 — 0.4FFRATE, — 0.8FFMTE,_1 — 0.6FFRATE,_2—- 0.2FFRATE,_3 (a) Suppose FFRATE = 1% for r = I, 2. 3, 4. Use the above equation to forecastINVGWTH for r = 4. (b) Suppose FFRATE is raised to 1.5% in period t = 5 and then returned to itsoriginal level of 1% for: = 6. 7, 8. 9. Use the equation to forecast INVGWTH forperiods I = 5, 6, 7. 8, 9. Relate the changes in your forecasts to the values of thecoefficients. What are the delay multipliers? (c) Suppose FFMTE is raised to 1.5% for periods I = 5. 6. 7, 8, 9. Use the equationto forecast INVGWTH for periods I = 5, 6, 7, 8, 9. Relate the changes in your forecasts to the values of the coefficients. What are the interim multipliers? Whatis the total multiplier?

solve some questions in this files. such as A consumer receives income y in the current period, income y0in the future period, andpays taxes of t and t0in the current and future periods, respectively. The consumercan borrow or lend at the real interest rate r. This consumer faces a constraint on howmuch he or she can borrow, much like the credit limit typically placed on a credit cardaccount. That is, the consumer cannot borrow more than x, where x we−y +t, withwe denoting lifetime wealth. Use diagrams to determine the effects on the consumer’s current consumption, future consumption, and savings of an increase in x, and explain your results.

Homework due Saturday, October 8 at 12:00 AM (Required)Homework 3/Leader Review: The text defines leadership skill as “the ability to influence people toward the attainment ofgoals”. Leaders come in all shapes, sizes and styles. There are several leadership theories that can be applied to generalorganizational and decision-making situations. Read chapter 15 and respond to the following questions:1. Is it important for you as a manager to understand the difference between leadership and management? Explain youranswer.2. What is the difference between the “situational approach” and “trait approach” to leadership? What approach seems tohave more relevance to you as a manager? Explain your answer.3. Would it be easy for you to be a “servant leader”? Why or why not?4. Which leadership theory-Level 5 Leadership, Authentic Leadership, The Leadership Grid, Contingency Approaches toLeadership (Situational, Fiedler’s) – do you subscribe to and why?5. Homework 4 Create A Function Create A Function In C That Accepts One Input Num

Homework 4 – Create a Function

Create a function in C that accepts one input number and returns a double number. The themes for the functions should be one of the following:

 Calculates 3.14 times of the square of input number. For example, if 2 is input then 12.56 should be returned. (e.g. 3.14*2*2 = 12.56)

 Divides the number by 3 and returns the result. For example, if 6 was input then 2.0 should be returned.

 Squares the number and returns the result. For example, if 12.1 was entered then 146.41 would be returned.

You should provide both your C code and an example call to the C code function. Be sure to provide an overview of what your function is doing. Include header documentation in the code as well as internal code documentation.

Provide a screen capture showing the results of testing your code in an online compiler.

Be sure to test your code with several test cases and show your test case table.

Submit your word or PDF file, along with the C code to your assignments folder no later than the due date.

Homework 4 Stat Mech Chap E4120x Prof Ben O Shaughnessy Homework 4 A A 3 D Liqui

Here is attachment for Statistical Mechanics

Homework #4 Stat. Mech. CHAP E4120xProf. Ben O’Shaughnessy1Homework #4(a) A 3-D liquid crystalline fluid consists of N rod-like molecules of length l.Each rod can occupy one of V available lattice sites, i.e., the center of gravity ofeach rod can be at one of the V lattice sites indicated by the dots in the first figure. The rods can orient themselves arbitrarily. The number of directions each rodcan point in per unit solid angle is l. Consider a dilute system (N(b) The system described in part (a) is brought into contact with a zeolite (aporous material). The particular zeolite consists of many cylindrical tubesand each tube contains a 1-D array of L lattice sites lying on its center axis (asshown in the second figure).dSystem (a):N rod moleculesV lattice sitesL sites per tubeVz sites in the zeolite V sites in the solutionHomework #4 Stat. Mech. CHAP E4120xProf. Ben O’Shaughnessy2The total number of lattice sites in all the tubes in the zeolite is Vz. The rodsare free to move between the two systems so one rod can now occupy any of thelattice sites both inside and outside the zeolite. The interesting problem ariseswhen the diameter of the tubes, d, is smaller than l, so the rods in the tubes havefewer ways to orient themselves because of the constraint of the walls of thetubes. Calculate the number of rods, M, absorbed by the zeolite in equilibrium.Hence determine a relation between the densities in the zeolite, φz , and in thesolution outside the zeolite, φs , where the density in each region is defined as thenumber of rods per site in that region.Hint for the number of directions in a 3-D space: A rod with indistinguishableends which can orient freely within an angle f of a certain direction (indicated bythe cones around the z axis in the figure below) has W possible orientationalconfigurations, where Ω = 2πλ (1− cosφ ) .Hint for (b): Find the number of directions a rod can point in when it isabsorbed by the zeolite. Express the entropy of the whole system as a functionof the number of rods absorbed by the zeolite and then find M by maximizing thisentropy.fz
