Hence a company should pay a lot of attention to managing its current assets and current liabilities in order to remain in the business in a profitable manner. Companies that successfully manage its working capital do not face liquidity issues and in turn can focus on other aspects of the business (Investopedia, 2013) . Positive working capital is imperative for a company to ensure that it sustains its operations. Working capital of a company is the difference between its current assets and its current liabilities (Watson & Head, 2013). Current assets of a company may include cash, inventory, accounts receivables and prepaid expenses while current liabilities include short term borrowings and accounts payable. Thus, working capital is an indicator of assessing the company’s liquidity and higher the working capital of the company, greater the liquidity of the company. A company requires raw materials to produce the goods it wants to sell. When these raw materials of finished goods are produced, these are either converted into finished goods (for a manufacturer) or sold to customers (for retailers). If the sale is made on credit, the company does not receive any cash and an account receivable is created. The sale is complete when this account receivable is converted into cash. Working capital is the requirement of the company to purchase the raw materials until the raw materials are converted into cash. The number of days required to convert raw materials into cash is called a company’s cash cycle and higher the company’s cash cycle, higher is the company’s working capital requirement. A very high trade payables is the major reason for the negative working capital. The current ratio is also an indicator of company’s liquidity and is calculated by dividing current assets with current liabilities. The current ratio of the company increased from 0.67 times in FY12 to 0.69 times in FY13. However, still the current ratio is under 1 which is not a good sign for the company. This shows that the company is facing liquidity issues and this will not bode well for the company’s profitability in the years ahead. Tesco will have to borrow from banks to fund its short term needs and improve its liquidity position. Tesco can improve its working capital by ensuring quick payments to its creditors. Currently, the company’s creditors are on a very high side which indicates that Tesco delays the payments to its supplier. The business model is also such that the inventory is purchased on credit and the sales are made on cash. However, this cash is not reflected on the company’s balance sheets which shows that the company has invested that excess cash elsewhere in noncurrent assets. But Tesco, the retail giant and largest super market chain in the UK, has negative working capital due to nature of its business. Since Tesco is such a large super market chain, it does not need to hold excess inventory. Moreover, the debtors of the company are also low since most of the sales are on cash which explains the low current assets of the company. The company buys its supplies on credit and pays back when the goods are sold which explains very high payables. Due to the nature of retailing business, we can conclude that Tesco’s working capital is not that bad and the company is managing its working capital in an effective way. Hence it is important to understand the dynamics of an industry before assessing its working capital management policies. It is imperative that the company adopt working capital management policies that ensure that the company’s working capital is managed effectively and efficiently. The report is intended to portray my work experience and the improvements that I have accomplished over my performance and skills over the working period of time at Newlook. At this point I would like to provide the reader with an idea about the organization that I had been associated with and job profile that I had worked in. Newlook, being one of the popular fashion companies in the UK has its operations spread worldwide, since it had started its operations in 1969 (Overiew, 2011). The company has its focus on providing its customers with their in-house manufactured products that can offer value to the consumers for the price they pay for them (How We Work, 2011). I was placed in the retail department of the company and was responsible to look after the sales of the company’s products from the retail stores of the company meeting the demands of the customers.
2. Skills Obtained 2.1. Transferable Skills: Basic skills are highly important as these include the basic workplace literacy and the management and performance skills required for any kind of job that an organization may require fulfilling in order to accomplish its objectives. Such skills are developed while working within an organization (Rainbird, Fuller &. Munro, 2004, p.102). These are transferable skills that can be used in different organizations and in different work profiles (Cameron, 1999). This is also necessary because people nowadays tend to change their jobs frequently that require him being competent in his work skills to be capable of adapting to the different job profiles. My work experience at Newlook gave me the opportunity to improve my management and interpersonal skills thus developing my personal abilities towards performing on the activities that were given to me as my responsibilities. Not only did I learn the art of looking after the sales of the products, at the same time, I learnt how to manage any unexpected circumstances or confrontations, and how to interact with different members and organize functions for workers who were subordinate to me, thus having an overall learning of management and personal development. 2.2. Communication Skills: Communication skills are one of the most important factors within any organization because it is only through communications that one’s ideas and thoughts can be shared and passed on to others. When a work has to be done by others, it needs to be communicated properly such that the work is implemented correctly. Also relationships are improved if communications between different members are satisfying (Cheema, 2009, p.61). My work experience at Newlook has also enabled me to improve my communication skills to a great extent. In the process of my working, I had the opportunity to observe my seniors performing their activities, interacting with their subordinates as well as the managers. This observation has helped me a lot to unlearn the manners of communicating different views to other organizational members. This will ensure a relaxation of the 50% constrain on the hours that will be worked on by part time customer service employees.
Based on the requirements of the proposal to develop a minimum cost daily assignment schedule for the customer service employees at the Acme Mexico city star, the table will show a clear indication of how the LP model was developed to achieve optimal efficiency at a minimal cost to the company (DuBrin, 2009).

The concept is implemented through an arrangement of cylindrical magnets which are embedded vertically in a large tank. 4. In 1906, the Liberal Party of Britain came to power. This gave a major impetus to the Indian National Movements, as the Liberals were sympathetic to the grievances of the Indians. They introduced major reforms, such as the “Morley-Minto Reforms” which encouraged nationalist leaders of that time.
