In addition, the meaning of an artwork can be explained. In conducting a visual analysis, aspects such as color, perspective, forms, balance, frame, and overall appearance are used to mention but a few. In this paper, Lorenzo di Credi’s Madonna and Child painting will be used to conduct a visual analysis. The analysis will seek to explain the painting in-detail and most importantly explain why it stands out as a perfect painting that appeals to the eye than other versions of the Madonna and child works.

Lorenzo di Credi was born in Italy in 1459. His time of birth places was midway through the Florence and Italian Renaissance period. During his early artist life, he worked with Andrea del Verrocchio in his workshop. He got to work with the famous Leonardo da Vinci and it is said that the two artists inspired each other greatly. Most of his works were based on religious themes, and he used several Renaissance paintings to create his own. The Madonna and Child painting is one of his famous pieces.

The first (original) autograph of The Madonna and Child painting was done by Rogier van der Weyden, a Flemish artist, in the early 1450s. Lorenzo di Credi drew inspiration from this piece to come up with his own version thirty years later. It is rectangular oil on wood painting with dimensions of 71.1 cm (height), and 49.5 cm (width). It is estimated to have been created around 1480 to 1485 and is currently on display at the National Gallery in London.

The main focus of the painting is the Madonna (virgin) with a child seated on her lap. They both have halos above their heads. The Madonna has a silk veil over her golden hair and is staring down at the child who sits on her right held at the waist in her right hand. She has a deep blue robe over a red dress. The child is staring towards the bottom left corner of the painting, away from the Madonna’s gaze. The child is only clad in a waistcloth. Both of its hands clasps around the

Individuals, their families and groups in the higher social classes live longer on average. The life expectancy of children born of higher income families today in Western societies is five years longer than those born to working-class families (Acheson, 1998). Until recent studies directed attention toward the sociological explanation for the inequality that exists in health status, a more direct link was thought to explain the disparity, a line of reasoning that merits serious consideration. Low status jobs generally pay less. Lower incomes translate to restricted choices which means choosing food, housing and health care based on budgetary constraints, not on which is the healthier choice (Marmot, 1984). This direct association, while valid, is only a surface view of the link between social class and health status. A more clearly defined view of this social phenomenon can be found only by examining the less obvious psychological and sociological aspects of the connection. The psychological component of this triad is the product of various sources many of which are sociological in nature. Psychological concerns involve the extent to which levels of pessimism, optimism and general feelings of self-esteem affect health. Self-esteem can be linked to health by two dissimilar social processes. First, “low self-esteem is part of a causal sequence that may lead to severe depression and related psychiatric disorders” (Brown, 1990). The second suggests a more indirect explanation that likely is the more harmful of the two. “Persons with low self-esteem lack the confidence and determination to adopt or maintain appropriate health behaviors with regard to smoking, substance abuse, diet, and exercise” (Hurst, 1997).

Social location more often than not is closely related to physical location. Living in certain areas of the country and cities is a determining factor in projecting health

In an accrual based double entry system, every transaction has both a debit and a credit in the books of accounts.

The three major divisions in the accounting field are (1) Financial Accounting (2) Management Accounting and (3) Tax Accounting. Financial accounting relates to a description and classification of accounts into assets, liabilities, capital, revenues and expenses and their summarization on the Income Statement and Balance Sheet. Management accounting deals with the development or interpretation of accounting information to aid management in making decisions that help in running the business. Tax accounting deals with determining the tax effects of transactions, preparation and filing of tax returns in conformity with the applicable tax laws and procedures.

The purpose of a balance sheet is to show the financial position of a business enterprise on a specific date, usually the end of the year. Accounts are typically classified as belonging either to the income statement or the balance sheet. Usual balance sheet accounts are assets such as Cash, liabilities such as Accounts Payable and owner’s equity such as the Capital account.

The purpose of an income statement is to determine whether the business made a profit or loss from its operations over the period, usually a year. Both the income statement and the balance sheet are prepared at the end of the financial year. Usual income statement accounts are revenues such as Sales and expenses such as Advertising Expense.

The statement of cash flows shows how the cash in a business was generated and how it was spent over the financial year. This can be the result of operating, investing and financing activities. In a bid to make its operations relevant and significant locally, Wal-Mart had to rely on the immense technological advancements in e-commerce. Consequently, Wal-Mart embraced the use of Facebook (the largest social media network in the world) in improving its local sales (Dishman, 2011). Through this program, users would be subscribed to information pertaining certain offers and new merchandise with regards to the Wal-Mart store of their choice. In addition, location of the desired store could also be done online. This would, in turn, ensure that users are kept abreast with different offers and merchandise from local stores. This process was aimed at boosting the significance of Wal-Mart’s local stores. It also created a platform for Wal-Mart’s customers to interact and associate with the company. Moreover, in the continued efforts of keeping up with the trends in technology, Wal-Mart also launched iPhone and iPad applications. iPhones and iPads have already been embraced in the gastronomy industry, and Wal-Mart seeks to capitalize on these technological advancements to boost efficiency in customer service (Stephanie, 2012). . The fit is attained in an ideal market when supply just offsets the demand. Sales people use their social skills to discern the needs of the customer and use the product knowledge to present products and services to match those needs (Charan, 2007). Production that exceeds the customer wants leads to stockpiling of unused goods at the company’s end. It is termed as flawed productivity. On the contrary, a ‘hyped up’ consumer want may lead to customer buying wrong products, leading to aversion. Hence the creation of a want is justified so long as it just matches the needs of the customer, neither exceeding nor falling short. Credit card companies promote the card as a tool to avail limited period credit on shopping. This is an example of good want creation. As a bad example, these very companies motivate the bearers of cards to go on reckless shopping sprees thus accumulating debt. Most often, companies use psychological, emotional, subliminal and intellectually persuasive means through marketing institutions and advertisements to trump up customer wants. Companies target their persuasive campaigns at customers. The consumer has to discern his requirements from the maze of information. Thus the final decision as to what is ‘good’ and what is ‘bad’ want rests with the customer. Product Life Cycle is a simulation of the life of product sales with biological concepts of birth, growth, maturity and decline as depicted in the Product Life Cycle Diagram.

Hi I Need Help With Essay On War And Conflicts In Africa And Its Effects On Chil

Hi, I need help with essay on War and Conflicts in Africa and Its Effects on Childhood and Health. Paper must be at least 2750 words. Please, no plagiarized work!

Maintaining and enhancing childhood and child health has not been easy for nations in the developing world, particularly conflict-plagued nations in Africa. These nations are often plagued by war and conflicts. These conflicts make it difficult for Western-influenced medical and social intervention difficult.

Childhood is seen as the early years of a person’s life where the person socializes with members of the society and gains an understanding of the world around him or her in preparation for a productive life after age 18 (NICHD Early Childhood Research Network, 2005). In most studies covered by this research though, childhood seems to stretch from the time of birth to about age 12, where a child needs care and attention.

As a child grows, s/he needs to get a proper blend of emotional, mental and physical health (Kehily, 2004) in order to become a stable and healthy adult. Emotional health encompasses the right bonds with adults, care and protection from trauma and other harsh conditions that may make a child disturbed. Mental health has to do with the right structures that will give the child a stable mind. Physical health means protection from diseases and other physical injuries that would prevent the child from normal life. In the modern setting, these things should be available to the child as he goes through contact with his or her parents, school and the local community.

Clarke et al (2003) stress that a good childhood is one in which a child gets the opportunity to grow up an ideal setting. This includes access to good and healthy food, the opportunity to learn and play, protection from diseases and harsh environmental conditions as well as access to proper health care.&nbsp.

This goal is achieved fairly well. What results is a society that is aligned to the needs of the government and large corporations. The harm however to individuals and the society as a whole is just as prominent. He further implies that the society has been duped to accept that obligatory government run schooling is necessary.

He refutes the notion vastly instilled on people that success only emerges from schooling. He reminds us of various people that have actually gained success without formal schooling. Lincoln for one became president with just a fourth grade education. I for one can think of a dozen of examples of students that have accomplished a lot without having a formalized education. He draws a parallel that many learn computing without much professional help where one learns by just curiosity (Gatto, 60). It is a learning experience where skill emerges.

Gatto firmly argues that the use of grades and tests scores as measure of quality as has been continuously integrated in our minds is very wrong. Education he says does not give you the education you need to defend yourself in the world, only the person can give himself that. On the same note, he still contends to the importance of going to high school and college but it does not necessarily give one the key to progress. He says that the system will fashion you in a way you will think you self devised but the fact remains you are slave of the system. Education does not give you the skills to think for yourself.

Gatto asserts that the notion that education is compulsory has darker and deeper rooting. He quotes from professor Arthur Calhoun’s book, ‘social history of the family. a sociological philosophy of education’ and William Kirkpatrick’s ‘ education and social crisis’ to further reflect the advance of a scientific control in the world’s population using education as a tool.

Gatto gives reference to political notions drawn by Plato, Darwin, Wundt, Fichte,
