If the parents failed to establish a meaningful relationship with their children, the children may not care much about the instructions given by the parents. For example, if both the father and the mother of a child professionals, they may not get enough time to establish a strong relationship with their children because of the less time they might have spent with their children. Many of the children became antisocial elements only because of the improper management of these different phases in their life. Parental guidance is important in these situations and many parents have the habit of taking this transition period lightly and their children may become problematic later.

In short, planting self confidence in the minds of the children is an important child raising technique. Same way giving proper guidance at the transition periods of a child will help the child from derailing from the path of positive development.
