Hey There I Need To Summarize This Article To Understand Better If U Can Summari

Hey there,I need to summarize this article to understand better, if u can summarize for me in 250 to 300 words. Please.Thanks.State and local tax revenue has nearly snapped back to the peak hit several years ago—a gain attributed to a reviving economy and tax increases implemented during the recession. But the improvement masks deeper problems for state and local governments that are likely to linger for years. To weather the recession, state governments relied on now-depleted federal stimulus funds, which allowed them to put off painful cuts that would have otherwise been necessary to balance budgets. Meanwhile, demand for government services and the tab for public-worker pensions and health care have continued to grow.Total tax receipts for state and local governments hit $1.29 trillion in 2010, just 2.3% shy of the $1.32 trillion taken in during 2008, not adjusted for inflation, according to Census Bureau data.Peak tax revenue was reached during the first year of the recent recession, which began in December 2007, due to the usual lag between the time a downturn hits and when it is reflected in tax receipts.Part of the upturn in state revenue can be traced to tax increases imposed during the recession. For 2010, tax hikes boosted state revenue by $12.3 billion, about 2%, according to the Nelson A. Rockefeller Institute of Government. The latest tallies show a diverging trend in the fiscal health of state and local governments. While state tax revenue increased every quarter of 2010, including a 6.7% jump in the fourth period compared with a year earlier, local tax revenue fell in the first and fourth quarters—in part because of slumping real-estate tax receipts. While states are primarily funded by sales and income taxes—which tend to grow along with an expanding economy—the nation’s 89,000 cities, school districts and other local governments depend heavily on property taxes. It typically takes a few years for falling housing prices to show up in property-tax receipts, and the latest Census figures suggest that is now happening.Local “governments are still very much in the midst of the downturn and are likely to have a couple of tough years ahead,” says Chris Hoene, director of research for the National League of Cities, adding that local governments will struggle until there is a rebound in housing markets. For states, an improving revenue picture might seem surprising, given the big budget deficits in the coming fiscal year. State income-tax revenue jumped 10.9% in the fourth quarter of 2010 compared with a year ago, as Americans’ healthier incomes and stock-market gains translated to higher income-tax payments. Sales taxes grew 1.9% over the period, according to the Census. While state finances are improving, their current fiscal woes largely reflect lingering problems that have yet to be resolved. For decades, the cost of state and local government has risen faster than overall inflation, in part because of pension and health-care promises governments made to their employees.”States and localities will face continued pressure on their finances as they struggle to pay the cost of promises already made,” says Don Boyd, a senior fellow at the Rockefeller Institute. “This will be hard to explain to taxpayers who see that the cyclical part of their problem is improving.”WSJ’s Conor Dougherty and Mitra Kalita visit the News Hub to discuss state-level revenues seeing a rebound, but local revenues weighed down by a sluggish housing market. January housing sales figures ignited fresh fears of a double-dip recession.Meanwhile, in the 2012 fiscal year that starts in July, states will no longer have the roughly $150 billion in stimulus funds that over the past two years have been used to fill gaps in states’ budgets. That means governors and legislators are just now considering cuts that, but for the stimulus, would have been made years ago.State and local fiscal burdens cast a cloud over an otherwise improving economy and job market. Concerns about governments’ ability to get their fiscal houses in order have roiled the municipal-bond market, raising borrowing costs for many cities and in the process impeding their ability to spend on things like new roads or sewers. At the same time, budget crunches have prompted widespread layoffs, especially at the local level. In the 12 months ended in February, state and local governments shed 241,000 jobs, compared with an overall national gain of 1,269,000 in nonfarm jobs. The growing stress on local governments is likely to put more pressure on state budgets, even as states’ own revenues improve. State and local finances are intertwined, with states paying for many local services. Also, cities’ fiscal woes can raise doubts among bond investors about a state’s fiscal health.Local fiscal stress has prompted states including Michigan and California to seek more oversight of municipal finances. Michigan is training “emergency financial managers” to advise its cities. In California, the state controller is seeking greater power to audit cities’ finances. I really need to review the summary by tonight by 10pm. If you can do this at least by 10 pm, I am willing to pay $20.Thanks

Hey There Week 3 Petrie S Electronics Cases Ch 5 6 I Need The Answer For The H

Hey there, Week 3 – Petrie’s Electronics Cases Ch 5/6 I need the answer for the hold project can you help me?Objectives Petrie’s Electronics needs to improve its marketing and customer retention by increasing customer loyalty. The marketing department is in need of a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system. Upper management has selected No Customer Escapes as the top Information Technology project this year. 1. In Week 3, we move to the second phase of the system development life cycle (SDLC), System Analysis. This phase is where we gather information on the detailed requirements for the CRM project. 2. In order to gather detailed requirements, we will need to do the following.a. Continue reading in our book. Last week we read Chapter 3 and 4; this week we must understand all of the concepts in Chapters 5 and 6.b. Read the Petrie’s Case Questions at the end of Chapter 5 and 6 to add to what we learned in previous weeks.c. We have already gathered some requirements and constraints identified in PE Table 5-1 of our textbook.3. We will validate the requirements in Table 5-1 and gather additional requirements by using:a. Traditional method for Determining Requirements.•Interviewing stakeholders. •Observing workers. •Review existing documentation as described by Table 5-1 of our textbook. b. Modern Methods for Determining Requirements.•Joint Application and Design sessions. •Prototyping. c. Radical Methods for Determining Requirements.•Business Process Reengineering (BPR). •Disruptive Technologies. 4. To better understand a process for requirements gathering, we should review how Pine Valley Furniture will determine requirements for their Web store project in the book.5. The Petrie’s Electronics Case in Chapter 5 describes how you will collect requirements for the CRM project. The Project Manager has decided not to build the system in-house thanks to your Cost Benefit Analysis, but to research current customer loyalty systems in use in the market place today. Week 3 Project Tasks Back to Top 1.Read the Petrie’s Electronic Case at the end of Chapter 5. 2.Read the Petrie’s Electronic Case at the end of Chapter 6. 3.We have three deliverables due this week:Category Points1. Petrie’s Electronics Case, Chapter 5, Questions 1, 3, and 5. 15 2. Petrie’s Electronics Case, Chapter 6, Questions 1 and 5. 10 3. A Level 1 Data Flow Diagram decomposing the Record Customer Activity Process•Create a Level 1 Data Flow Diagram (DFD) using the Level 0 Diagram, PE Figure 6-2. There are four processes on the Level 0 another team has created level 1 diagrams for three processes and placed in doc sharing in the Project Workbook – Week 3 folder, Review them to ensure consistency: ◦Send Promotions Level 1 Diagram◦Generate Point Redemption Level 1 Diagram◦Generate Customer Reports Level 1 Diagram•We will need to create a level 1 diagram for the Record Activity Process using the Level 0 Diagram, PE Figure 6-2.•Please note the textbook has an error, PE Figure 6-2; The diagram is labeled as Level 1 DFD but it is actually the Level 0 diagram decomposed from the Context Diagram, PE Figure 6-1.•You can use MS Visio 2010 or any other MS Office Application (most students use Visio or WORD). 15 Systems Analysis SDLC Phase 2 Package part 140/40 Grading Rubrics Back to Top Answer the questions to the case studies below completely. Petrie’s Electronics Case Questions (Chapter 5) Points1. What do you think are the sources of the information Jim and his team collected? How do you think they collected all of that information? 5 3. If you were looking for alternative approaches for Petrie’s customer loyalty program, where would you look for information? Where would you start? How would you know when you were done? 5 5. Why shouldn’t Petrie’s staff build their own unique system in-house? 5 Total15 Petrie’s Electronics Case Questions (Chapter 6) Points1. Are the DFDs in PE Figures 6-1 and 6-2 balanced? Show that they are, or are not. If they are not balanced, how can they be fixed? • You need to understand the concept of “balance” between different levels of a DFD. Explain why/why not PE Figure 6-1 and PE Figure 6 -2 are balanced. The concept of balancing is described in the book.5. Why is it important for the team to create DFDs if they are not going to write the actual system code themselves? •You need to understand why DFDs are important and what they are used for! 5 Total10 The rubric below shows the required elements for the following deliverable: Level 1 Data Flow Diagram for the Record Customer Activities ProcessYou will need to create a level 1 diagram for the process Record Customer Activities from the level 0 diagram, PE Figure 6-2.You will need to turn in one level 1 diagram. Review the three level 1 diagrams created by the other team and placed in doc sharing in the Project Workbook – Week 3 folder. So you will need to draw one level 1 diagram. You can use any Microsoft Application; Visio is available for free download or you can use the Citrix iLab; but a lot of students use the draw features of MS Word. We have Visio tutorials available in the lecture and syllabus – give it a try! Visio is the most widely used diagramming tool in business today and you can gain practical experience that can serve both your resume and skill set!!Points1. Hey To All I Need To Solve This Task It Is The Task For Bayesian Networks Subjec

Hey to all! I need to solve this task! It is the task for Bayesian networks subject. Someone can help?

We have two sensors that are meant to detect extreme temperature, which occurs 20% of the time. The sensors have identical specifications with a false positive rate of 1% and a false negative rate of 3%. If the power is off (dead battery), the sensors will read negative regardless of the temperature. Suppose now that we have two sensor kits: Kit A where both sensors receive power from the same battery, and Kit B where they receive power from independent batteries. Assuming that each battery has a 0.9 probability of power availability, compute the probability of extreme temperature given each of the following scenarios:

(a) The two sensors read negative.

(b) The two sensors read positive.

(c) One sensor reads positive while the other reads negative.

Thanks in advance!

Hey This Question Is Related To Test Statistics I M Having Trouble Understanding

Hey, this question is related to test-statistics

I’m having trouble understanding how to find a critical value when given an alpha and a degrees of freedom, using the table (and when h0 is true). I think I just don’t understand how to look for the critical value.

For instance, with a df of 5 and an alpha of 0,01, why is the critical number 4.032? Why do we look under the alpha of 0,05 to find the value, I thought we were supposed to look at the value under the alpha 0,01?

Hey Tutor Attached Is An Essay Paper On Advertisement Can You Proofreading My Pa

hey tutor

Attached is an essay paper on advertisement. Can you proofreading my paper. It is about a advertisement of cigarette and i cannot dwell on the harm of cigarette only what is in the ads. It would be great if you can let me know if my topic is link back to the thesis statement and if i went off topic. Looking forward for you input

“Don’t tell me how good you make it; tell me how good it makes me when I use it” (Leo Burnett). Advertisements can strongly influence people’s lives and it often goes unnoticed. Whether it is on television, in magazines, or on billboards, advertisements persuade people one way or the other. It is not until one feels the pressure of withdrawal from the product, they realize the impact it has on their lives. This advertisement has three basic faults: the picture and word not saying the same thing, the large print is contradicting the smaller print and dishonesty

This advertisement used two adjectives in larger print – BOLD CHOICE because they want it to stand out to the customers and it is convincing them to buy a product. While the smaller print put the customers in a put off mood. They want to buy the product that will make them feel satisfied. With the Surgeon General’s warning in smaller print put them on the edge and that is one of the reasons why it is less noticeable. However, without the text and the box it would be hard to know what is being advertised. The picture is advertising a young couple on their way to Las Vegas to either gamble, party and have fun. They pull to the side of the road can indicate a few things. They can be resting during a long drive and decide to smoke a cigarette while doing so or maybe they are waiting for friends to meet with them along the way. In this advertisement they make it seem like taking a road trip to Las Vegas always involved smoking once you pull off the highway. Therefore, the picture and words should be saying the same thing, whether if the words or picture remove from the advertisement and in this case, they are contradicting each other.

The name of the company already exists, and they used it to promote another brand of cigarette. The large print is appealing and encourage new customers and maintaining their current customers. The medium print is to reinforce the main object which is the company- Winston, that is selling the product and the linkage between customer and product. They already make a name for themselves and to convince the customer they must make them feel that they are the best out there.  On the other hand, the smaller print is not saying the same thing as the large or medium prints. This is where the scary stuff is the do’s and the do not. With the Surgeon General Warning, it is telling the customers what will happen when they take the product and the side effect of this product. For example, what if a person wants to start a family in the future and they see this warning they would think twice about the effect it will have on them later. One print is saying bold choice and the other is giving you a warning, which side should you be on where you would find the truth in this advertisement.

Naturally smooth lured customers to think that these cigarettes are safer than regular cigarettes. They use mostly black, red and yellow colors to give an implication that it is enhancing and that the consumer is getting a bargain. Natural has to do with something that is real and there is nothing real in a cigarette- it is a chemical. This advertisement target Millennials, to promote cigarette selling. Seeing a younger age group doing it make it easier for customers to buy that product and it seems fun and exciting. Once they convince that age group they will grow with the product and when they realized the lies that are sold to them and it is not near the truth and by that time it will be too late.

In conclusion, advertisements should be something that a customer can rely on and in this advertisement, it is the opposite of what’s being advertised. An Advertisement can convince a customer to buy their product in ways that you cannot imagine. The picture can be selling the product and the word is discouraging the sale of the product. The large print is telling you a fantasy – bold choice, there is nothing bold in smoking a cigarette and the choice will impact you later. The smaller print is the closest this advertisement gets to the truth and it is contradicting each other and can be deceitful. Either way, they know what to advertise to make the customer come back for more.
