“Imagine that you are an absolutely unscrupulous district attorney, willing to do anything—including convicting an innocent person – in order to get a conviction in a particularly notorious criminal case. (i.e., you don’t much care who is convicted – guilty or innocent – so long as you get a conviction of someone). You have two witnesses to the crime – a murder during the robbery of an all-night diner – but neither is very confident of being able to identify the killer. What could you do to influence those witnesses so that they will not only identify someone as the killer, but also testify confidently (you are not concerned about whether they testify accurately) that person is the killer and that the murder was a particularly brutal one.” (Ch 16, p. 309)

HERE IS THE INITIAL POST OF ONE STUDENT
If I were trying to influence two witnesses in order to make a convection there are multiple steps I would take to get a false convection. The first step would be to follow the “Photo-Bias” experiment done at the University of Nebraska. I would show the witness multiple videos of people who look like a particular suspect and then place that suspects mug shot in front of them. After doing this I would later have the witnesses look at a lineup containing the suspect and they would be bound to pick them out. Witnesses seeing these photos and multiple videos would cause an unconscious transference resulting in them identifying in a line up the suspects who’s mugshot they saw. Next, I would have the witness pick from a line up but in that line up I would have someone who works at the all night diner. This would cause an unconscious transference because odds are they would recognize them from just eating at the dinner while that person was working. Which would most likely result in a false identification. Then I would move on to creating a prejudice with the witness for someone in the lineup. I would tell them negative stories about them and say they are capable of doing a crime like this to help the witness connect them to the crime. Finally, I would ask the witnesses questions that helped fill in the fuzzy details of the murder and robbery with details I needed to make a convection. With a play on words I would ask questions that make suggestions about the person I needed to convict. Such as does the person have hair similar to the one picked from a line up. Does the person have the same build and skin tone as the one from the line up. Questions like these would help the witness make a false id and help me get a convection.

/in Uncategorized /by developer.III Xfinity Mobile LTE 6:37 PM E online.warner.edu a 8% E]! Ambushed! Do you remember which athletic shoe company sponsored the2012 London Olympics? [1‘ you remember Nike, you’re right inline with 37′ percent of US. consumers who identified Nike as asponsor at the time rather than 24 percent who identified Adidas, who actually was the official sponsor and who paid about 40million British pounds for the privilege. The reason may be thatNike developed an extraordinarily creative “ambush" marketingprogram around the lOlympics that hijacked buzz from theofficial sponsors. Like many other spectators, you probablyremember the eye-catchin g neon yellow VOLT shoes that morethan 400 runners and other athletes were during Olympic events,at Nike’s behest, attracting considerable attention and publicity.Just before the Olympics opened, Nike also launched a lush TVad called “Find Your Greatness” that featured exciting amateurathletic events in different Londons all over the world fromLondon, Ohio to London, Nigeria. The ad immediately wentviral, with viewership eclipsing Adidas“ competing ad in just aweek. Nike employed similar tactics to ambush buzz fromofficial World Cup sponsors—including Adidas—in 2010. Theshoe may be on the other foot in 2016, when Nike will he anofficial sponsor of the Rio Olympics, which Adidas will notsponsor. Host countries and host cities of major event routinelyenact antlsmbush marketing laws, but creative marketers canroutinely subvert them (for instance by not mentioning London,England or London 20” in their ads}. Ambush marketing has become a quite controversial topic, with arguments both for andagainst it. Key points: In favor of ambush marketing: – Done within the bounds of the law, ambush marketingrepresents highly creative marketing promotion. – Ambush marketing increases consumer choices, rather thanlimiting choices to the products (and prices] provided byofficial event sponsors. Against ambush marketing: – By its very nature, ambush marketing is deceptive, creating afalse association between a brand and an event. – The ambush marketer is essentially stealing buzz from theofficial sponsors of events, who paid richly for theirsponsorship rights. Regardless of how creative theexecution, stealing is unethical. Question . As a businessperson, could you support ambush marketing?Provide the rationale for your answer. if you do not supportambush marketing, what do you think are appropriateconsequences for ambush marketers?I E [I] E

/in Uncategorized /by developer“Illusory correlations” are part of the judgment heuristics and most judgment heuristics are generally useful. However, the illusory correlation is a phenomenon in which we see relationships where none exist. Using examples from the text, explain how this happens in relation to our memory and the recency effect. What are some examples from everyday life of illusory correlations? What made the illusory correlations appear to be linked together? What made them appear to be a coincidence that they occurred together?

Immigration Assume That Mexican Migrants To The United States Come To Amherst T
/in Uncategorized /by developer. Immigration
Assume that Mexican migrants to the United States come to Amherst to work as dish washers in restaurants, while those born in the United States work either as dish washers or cooks and that while some prefer one occupation and others might prefer the other, they will go from one occupation to the other depending on the relative wage. Also assume that restaurants need both cooks and dish washers; and that the number of restaurants increases when restaurant labor (cooks and dish washers) is cheaper.
Use a standard labor supply and demand graph to show the effect on wages and employment for Mexican migrants and native-born workers of an increase in migration. Is immigration good or bad for native-born American workers? Is it good or bad for people looking to eat in restaurants?
