This week the focus is on numbers and volume, in other words quantitative data. 

Remember that  this type of data  is information about quantities; that is, information that can be measured and written down with numbers. Some examples of quantitative data include your height, your shoe size, and the length of your fingernails.  

This week the essentials to focus are III and V. Please make sure to focus on the different approaches to quantitative data and explore different level of measurement: nominal, ordinal, interval, etc. By the end of this week you should be able to understand the importance of quantitative data, and explore different ways to utilize the data.

            Quantitative and Qualitative Research Review 

Choose two scholarly, peer-reviewed nursing articles about research studies. One article must be an example of a qualitative research study; the other must be a quantitative example.

These articles will be utilized for assignments in Topics 3, 4, 6 and 8; they can be found using the GCU Library or any of the sources recommended in the readings.

Write a 350-500-word statement which includes:

1. A description of why each research study is categorized as quantitative or qualitative.
2. A justification for your selections.
3. Rationale for choosing the journal(s) in which the articles were published.
4. A link to the selected articles or an attached copy of each article.

While APA style is not required for the body of this assignment, solid academic writing is expected and in-text citations and references should be presented using APA documentation guidelines, which can be found in the APA Style Guide, located in the Student Success Center.

For this assignment, you will research an advanced nursing practice role and summarize your findings in a 3- to 5-page paper (excluding the title page and references):

Focusing on the specialty for which you were admitted to South University, select an advanced nursing role to research. (Adult advance Nurse Practitioner)

1.Distinguish the role as clinical or non-clinical and how it promotes patient outcomes, ie safety, access to health care or health information relative to the ANP level

2.Apply an Advance Nursing Practice Concept to your chosen role

3. Develop a minimum of ten questions that you would like to ask the advance practice clinician or non-clinician that you have chosen to interview.  Identify in the paper the individual by name, credentials, position and your planned date for the interview (Interview is due Week 3)

4.Support your findings with at least two research articles (study, design, sample and results must be discussed). Other peer reviewed articles that are non-research and nursing organization websites may be used.
