You are a member of a World Trade Organization task force that is reviewing the banana conflict between the United States and the European Union that happened 15 years ago, because there is a potential for a new conflict. At that point, the European Union and the United States recently ended a nine-year battle over trade in bananas. The European Union was giving preferential treatment to banana exporters from Africa, the Caribbean, and the Pacific island nations. But the United States challenged what it saw as unfair trading practices, and the World Trade Organization agreed. Large global fruit companies such as Dole, Chiquita, and Del Monte—which alone account for nearly two-thirds of the fruit traded worldwide—supported the U.S. action. The European Union argued it was trying to support struggling economies, for which bananas make up a large portion of their income.

Based on the readings from above, answer the following questions:

  • Should international trade be left to private enterprise only, or should governments openly manage it to benefit poorer nations?
  • Would you have argued on behalf of the United States or the European Union? Explain.
  • What are the pros and cons of each side’s arguments?

” Strategic Pricing” Please respond to the following:

  • Select a company that you are familiar with or interested in. Use the Internet and/or Strayer Library to find that company’s pricing strategy.
    • Briefly summarize the pricing strategy of the company you researched.

    AND RESPOND TO THIS POST:

  • Sporn

    RE: Week 1 Discussion 2

Good Day Class, Professor,My company of choice is the current company I work for. Our pricing is value based. As we know, there are many different hotel brands that accommodate different markets from select service, to full service. Our pricing for our wifi and phone services depend on the service type of the property. Our pricing is also scaled to the room count of the properties. For example, for a select service property (50 rooms max) we charge $1.25 per room to accommodate their needs and budget. For a full-service property, (50+ rooms) we charge $2.00 per room. Another factor of our pricing depends on the amenities that the properties offer to their customers.

    Thank you,

After that consider and discussion: If all three of them had the same set of parents/foster-parents, how do you believe that their lives would be different? Consider the scenario for each set of parents.

disaster management literature review

i have submitted a Literature Review to my professor and he gave a bad grade, and gave me many comments to work on.

i will attache my Literature Review with the professor comments.

The professor comments:

Your introduction is solid.

I would suggest you re-read the portion of the chapter in Leedy and Ormrod on “writing the literature review” before the final proposal. The goal of this portion of the proposal is to inform the committee on the foundation of your proposal (and eventual research).

I see several APA errors in citations: no “in-text” citations, missing sources only cited by a retrieved from (MERLOT), bad links that say “nothing found”, etc. It makes it very difficult for me to evaluate the reference for peer review and critical thinking validity.

What you have really provided is the other assignment, a string of article annotations, rather than a cogent, comprehensive analysis of the science behind your research proposal.

I know you can do this. This was a major subpart, that will be evaluated again as part of the final proposal. Please review the materials assigned and make this consistent with a publishable article.

The Problem Statement for Doctoral Research

For this assignment, you will turn your attention to the Problem Statement and Research Method Choice Alignment sections of the Research Prospectus Template. As you begin to think about your research topic, you must consider how it is related to your degree program (e.g., DM, DCS) and your concentration area. In addition, it is necessary to reflect upon the problem you plan to study and through this process of reflection to develop a justification of how your choice of research method is appropriate for addressing the study problem you have chosen.

Locate the Problem Statement section of the Research Prospectus, and draft 1 paragraph of no more than 250–300 words that addresses the following:

  • Describe the study problem you will focus on for your dissertation project.
  • The problem must be both practice-based and scholarship-supported, and therefore needs to consider both practice and recent research.
  • Cite theoretical, conceptual, and empirical peer-reviewed literature to support the relevance of your proposed study problem.

Remember this is the first draft of your study problem and you will continue to refine this problem until your Dissertation Proposal has been approved.

week 6 discussion writing 1

Discussion: MEAL Plan

In the Discussions over the past 5 weeks, you’ve built an argument. Step-by-step, you’ve identified evidence to support a main idea statement and you’ve shown how that evidence proves the point. Now, it’s time to fine tune. Where can your language be more precise? Where can it be clearer? Where do you need to provide or double-check a citation that you’re not quite sure about?

Additionally, to remember this process and the skills you’ve built, think about what resources and strategies have helped you along the way. Spend a little time perusing your Feedback Journal and any links you’ve saved for yourself. What’s been most helpful? Share what you’ve learned (and where you learned it!) with other writers so they can add resources to their “writing toolkit.”

To prepare for this Discussion:

  • Explore the links you’ve saved in your Feedback Journal, bookmarking the ones you found most helpful for yourself.
  • Create a list for yourself and your classmates of the most helpful resources and strategies you found this term.

By Day 4

Post your final revised paragraph responding to the research article, ensuring that your paragraph is a complete academic argument with all MEAL plan elements. Additionally, share at least one specific resource or strategy that has helped you revise and explain how it helped.
