Review the book you have picked for the course. There are two parts of the review: Written review and oral presentation. The written review should be between 1200 to 1500 words with six sections as outlined below. The paper should accompany an oral presentation not more than 5-7 minutes. Details about the presentation is also outlined below. Your written review should focus on the purpose, content and authority of the book.

Written review must address the following (not in order) within 1200-1500 words:

  1. Write a statement giving the essential information about the book which includes title, author, publisher, ISBN etc. (5 points)
  2. The author’s purpose in writing the book. You should be able to summarize the purpose in your own words including the intended audience. (10 points)
  3. State the theme (thesis) of the book. (20 points)
  4. How do you see yourself supporting the thesis of the book or disagreeing with it? Provide evidence from the book. (20 points)
  5. Evaluate the book for interest, accuracy, objectivity, importance or its usefulness for information management and the topic of our course.(10 points)
  6. Provide the general implications of the book and discuss how this book relates to any or some of the concepts discussed in class including the textbook, “Surveillance, Transparency and Democracy: Public Administration in the Information Age” (2015). (35 points)
